Personal Injury caused by the product
I purchased an electrolysis device from the company via their shop on Amazon. This has left me with visible scars on my face. The company refused to accept liability for the injury. I tired to leave a review with pictures on Amazon, but that function has been blocked, meaning that users cannot be warned about the product which continues to be sold on this website, despite the fact that it causes burns. This is appalling and shows no consideration for customers health and safety, both from Amazon and this company.
Update and reply (23/02/2023): I have now alerted the company that the device received a warning letter from the FDA in 1997 reporting the same injuries, but they ignored it and continue to sell the product. Trust Pilot does not allow me to insert a link here but if if you search for an FDA warning letter 97-NWJ-41, you can easily find it online.
I have also been able to submit the pictures of the injury to Amazon. Also other users report the same injuries from the same device (search for: clean & easy home electrolysis device).
The burns occurred during the patch test, which I carried out on a few hairs, as directed. When the skin came off, I alerted the company immediately.
The medical evidence which the company requests exceeds the costs of the device (£50 for the appointment and £150 for the report), but the company simply ignores it.
I feel that instead of taking the issue seriously and resolving this, the company is more interested in technical ways of simply dismissing my point. I will be reporting the fact that they continue to sell dangerous products both to Trading Standards, and Office for Product Safety and Standards. It simply blows my mind that instead of addressing this, they continue to get bogged down in detail, whilst exposing prospective customers to a hazard they have been warned against.

We have been selling this unit for over 10 years and 100,000’s have been sold worldwide; we also sell replacement tips to long time customers. Suffice it to say, this unit is very popular. For people who are unaware, this unit is a CE-compliant, low-power, single BATTERY operated electrolysis machine which has a single tip. Only one single hair at a time can be treated, so it takes patience and time to treat a patch of hair. As with all devices, a patch test must be carried out to determine if there are any adverse reactions. Some people have very sensitive skin. We corresponded with this customer in detail over a number of weeks as follows:
1. We requested a before (recent) and after photo repeatedly. To date, no before photo has been supplied. Why?
2. We asked if a patch test was carried out? The answer did not make any sense. Apparently, the patch test was OK, but treatment of a patch of hair was not. We are not medical experts, but cannot fathom how someone would react differently to essentially the same treatment method? What's the difference between treating a few hairs and then a batch of several? As only 1 strand of hair can be treated at a time, why did this customer carry on injuring herself slowly and painfully over a long period of time?
3. We requested a medical report confirming that the skin irritation shown in the post-treatment photo was due to the electrolysis machine. This was not supplied!
4. We asked why this customer carried on treating her facial hairs if there was extreme discomfort when slowly using the electrolysis machine to treat each hair? No response!
5. The customer did carry out extensive market research and came back to us with a financial compensation amount for an out-of-court settlement! Bearing in mind all the aforementioned points and unsatisfactorily answered questions, we decided to pass this on to our legal counsel.
In conclusion, this personal injury claim is unproven and basic medical information was not supplied by the customer. A full refund for the product was processed shortly after the initial complaint. We are a reputable company with a 21+ year history of customer service excellence.

Their online customer service messaging is good. But Body4real asked for a review of the products I had bought from them. They didn't ever publish the review or let me know why not. I wrote a 4 star review and explained why it wasn't 5 star but this obviously wasn't good enough. Disappointing.
