Started the journey of selling my flat with Bridgfords well, great listing, quickly found a buyer, then Bridgfords conveyancing service took over and was incompetent at every turn. 6 months on from ac... See more

Unanswered calls and emails
Unanswered calls and emails. Misleading and wrong information in terms of when a tenant was moving then constant attempts to ignore my instructions in order to extract more money. Terrible service avoid if you can.

made me complete 5 recaptchas to unsubscribe from their spammy emails. this is a tactic to waste people's time so they give up and stay signed up to emails. why would I need to prove my identity to unsubscribe from emails? even a hacker would have better things to do
Illegal practices
Illegal practices! Referred to the Property Ombudsman because contract was completed by manager, Tammi, and not ourselves, meaning we incurred hundreds of pounds of additional costs. Additional problems included; no marketing of the property, little, if any, communication. Should have gone to any of the other local estate agents.
They were very pushy to get a review…
They were very pushy to get a review straight after finding a buyer... I'm glad I delayed because they were terrible after that! Letting people into our house without our permission, charging extra fees despite having told us (in writing!) there wouldn't be any (and threatened court action when we pointed it out!)... and they're not even very reasonably priced! Avoid, especially the N-u-L branch with Tammi at the helm!
I had an appointment booked for today…
I had an appointment booked for today at 2.p.m with the view to put my house on the market so I would be in a position to make an offer on a viewing tomorrow. I received a call around 1.30 to inform me that the agent is running 30 minutes late, making the expected visit for 2.30. 3.15 came. I rang the agents to be told she's not attending. To rub salt in the wounds furthermore I was told she couldn't come to me because of traffic and she would make the visit after me late. Viewing cancelled as I had wasted my day off waiting round for nothing.
Poor communication
Poor communication, all words no action.
I tried to sell my house and had to beg for viewers, viewers were getting denied if they didnt get a mortgage with them.
They let me go from the contract and gave me compensation.
I eventually sold my house successfully with yoga.

My full deposit was taken without proper proof. I paid £660 relet fee and followed their process exactly. Now I’m pursuing legal action
Bridgfords in York were Absolutely…
Bridgfords in York were Absolutely dreadful, total lack of communication, never dealt with such a poor professional business in my life.
It’s there attention to detail that’s missing.
They make out there working for you as the seller but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Never again will I use Bridgfords in York
I cannot recommend this agent
I cannot recommend this agent. I let out a property via them for several years and would have left earlier but felt stuck with them when COVID hit.
Communication is poor. They have a high staff turnover. They do not enforce any maintenance issues so property left in poor condition by tennants each time, leaving me to pay for repairs.
Final insult was they deliberately underestimated the property value for inheritance tax meaning I was charged an extra £5000 tax when I finally sold the house even though it hadn't actually gone up in value!
As always the team Bridgfords Durham…
As always the team Bridgfords Durham faultless I’ve dealt with them now just over twenty years and they are professional and faultless the lettings team have been wonderful from day one and the experience just recently with the sales team I have to say as been equally brilliant and I love the job they do contacting the seller every week with informative information
Once again thank you
Kindest regards
Philip
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. DO NOT GO WITH THIS AGENCY.
We moved into a new property on 11th May, only to find it in completely unacceptable condition. The fridge was broken and the freezer door had come off entirely. The carpets are stained, the walls have scuffs and marks, and the kitchen cabinets haven’t been cleaned. On top of that, the previous tenants' used cutlery was still left in the drawers, and the bedroom window is broken.
We’ve been trying to get in touch with the property management team ever since — with no proper response. No one is taking responsibility, and nothing has been done to fix these issues. Absolutely shocking service for new tenants.
Emma Mudd and Bridgefords
I have been dealing with Emma Mudd at Bridgefords in Chorley. She is not my estate agent but the estate agent I am buying from. The service I have had from Emma has been second to none. She has kept me updated on every step of the way ;and has liaised with all of the solicitors involved, she is an asset to any company and, not only goes the extra mile, but runs a marathon, even for people like me.
Knutsford branch do not recommend
Firstly viewings were a shambles. Vast majority of viewings either cancelled last minute or didn’t turn up, greater vetting procedure's needed. When we did finally sell they recommended in house solicitors Conveyancing Direct which was the worst mistake we ever made, it took 5 1/2 months to sell a six year old house. The lady dealing with our sale left half way through and nobody told us, so nobody was looking after our case or chasing solicitors for an update. Very poor communication and service all round.
Murray & Lucy at Bridgfords in Swinton…
Murray & Lucy at Bridgfords in Swinton are a great team. They took on a retirement flat I own and immediately found a great tenant. They handled everything, the viewings, the interviews, referencing, absolutely everything was done to an excellent standard! I would definitely recommend them, brilliant service!
If you're a landlord considering…
If you're a landlord considering working with this agency, do not ignore the reviews. Run in the opposite direction because it will be very painful.
Bridgford placed a tenant in my property who, over the course of 12 months, failed to pay a single penny in rent, caused serious damage, and had to be removed via court proceedings and bailiff enforcement. The financial and emotional toll has been overwhelming.
In my opinion, the most shocking part was the complete lack of professionalism and accountability shown by Alia and the entire team at the Leeds branch. Throughout the tenancy, I found them to be non-communicative, disinterested, and entirely unresponsive to the escalating situation. No inspections, no proper vetting, no updates — just silence, until I was left to handle the legal and physical fallout entirely on my own.
In my experience, this agency has no effective screening process, no aftercare, and no genuine duty of care towards landlords. I’ve had better outcomes self-managing my properties with a simple £20 vetting than I did trusting Bridgford's — who ultimately cost me thousands.
Landlords — avoid Bridgford's like the plague. If you value your property, your peace of mind, or your bank balance — stay far away.
Will they never go away
Contacted to arrange viewing-tenant in property they were going to contact to arrange appointment. I said I was not interested in viewing if tenant wanted to stay but was assured they didn't. Heard nothing about that then get a call asking if I wanted a valuation on my current home! Keep getting "no reply" emails - all I want them to do is get lost!
I would highly rate the professional…
I would highly rate the professional approach and genuine helpfulness of Nancy Pemberton, Branch Manager, Bridgfords Estate Agents, Alderley Edge A difficult sale on my leasehold property was successfully navigated by Nancy.
I would recommend Bridgfords for your property sale.
Richard at Bridgfords Withinton was a great help
Bridgfords Withinton did our conveyancing a year ago. Some of the team were inexperienced (and in one case a bit lazy) but Richard Taylor made up for that by going the extra mile in helping us out. So this positive review is for him. Thank you.
Put house on market with bridgfords…
Put house on market with bridgfords after very impressive sales pitch promising a high level of service. Big mistake!!! Told them I wanted them to do viewings but they repeatedly turned up after the viewers so I had to start viewings and they took over towards end.( so embarassing) most of viewers were time wasters and not in a position to proceed with sale. Staff at office getting times and dates wrong. When I took it off market because they were making it so stressful they showed no interest at all. They then sent me a letter with names of all the viewers to give to any future agents so they could charge commission if I sold to any at a later date and reminding me of all the ways they could charge me commission. Would not recommend this company at all !!!
Disappointed at unreliability.
Received an invitation through the post for a valuation. Booked time and date. I took 2 hours getting the house ready for visit and valuation. When they didn’t turn up at the allocated time I checked my phone to ring tgem and noticed two missed calls. After calling them was told that because I hadn’t picked up they would need to reschedule the visit. I am angry that they have not turned up and expressed to them that if I knew that I needed to have my phone with me for a confirmation call I would have arranged that. Very disappointed as wanted this to move forward. I will now be going to another local estate agent to move forward and leave Bridgefords in future.
