Bridgfords Stokesley office

Avoid at all costs if selling a house. I am surprised this estate agent is still in business. Communication is a major issue at this agency and there seems an inability to properly qualify offers or progress them once accepted.

STOCKPORT BRANCH

STOCKPORT BRANCH - incredible service from start to finish. Lovely staff, so happy for me when I got the property I wanted, constantly kept in touch throughout and were a pleasure to deal with. Thank you Kate and Hayley!! You made the move a joy :)

Appalling disgraceful behaviour

Appalling disgraceful behaviour. They run a scam and I doubt they even have the properties they claim to have. Everyone seems to be offered “video viewings” and have been told the previous tenants are still currently there, that’s why.

As a Landlord

As a Landlord, if you are considering using a Letting Agent do not go anywhere near Bridgefords. Over several years I have been the victim of a catalogue of mistakes from using them to tenant find and in property management. After finding and recommending a tenant on the first occasion the tenant in question went on to fail to pay rent amounting to £1000's and multiple court appearances. Subsequently with another tenant over 5 years they failed to meet their contractual obligations in the management of the property and failings in property inspections resulted in my property being left in £2000 worth of dis-repair when the tenant left. They also failed to recover the deposit (amounting to half the repair bill) Conclusion: STAY AWAY

One star is more than they deserve.

One star is more than they deserve.
We have applied for house to rent, paid secure deposit, they want us to pay full deposit, full month rent without actually seeing the house in person? Fair enough for online viewing but actual deposit without seeing the house? Never have i seen or heard before, and now, they don’t want to give back our holding deposit. We felt so rushed nearly felt they are desperate.misleading information given or not given at all. Disgusting. Avoid at all costs!! Bridgfords York! Very rude manager as well, i honestly don’t know how can she have a job talking to you like that.

iamsold should be disgraced to work…

iamsold should be disgraced to work with Bridgfords under the Modern Method. The information given to me by Bridgfords set my expectations for a better, clearer, more honest progression with my sale but when iamsold got in touch there were misgivings in their approach, vastly reducing the potential sale price and rapidly sending out documents for me to sign, which I didn't. I decided that I didn't want to proceed with either Bridgfords or iamsold, I made that clear in emails, but then I get bombarded with phone calls and messages which I had to block from both companies. £170k Bridgfords is not the same as £135k iamsold. They work it between them so be aware potential sellers, they are very pushy and whatever they say below, they will try to avoid confrontation by saying they have no record of the sales enquiry but I am not going to leave that information for fear of being bombarded again by those companies.

Deposit retained without providing justification.

EDIT: I am interested to hear from any landlords who have not had deposits paid to them for damage. I believe we may have a mutual interest in looking into this. Text 07403 240706

Bridgfords have refused to return my rental deposit despite numerous requests. A variety of conflicting excuses have been made to justify this. I have had to leave before the end of the lease due to the poor condition of the property.

Address 12 Arkenshaw Road Croft.

Newcastle branch deceitful agents

The agents at the Newcastle branch are not trustworthy. Expect unethical behaviour and protect yourself. They have an unfair contract for the tenants. You could encounter psychological manipulation if you enter into a relationship with them. The agent did not take responsibility for his actions. Ask to see the contract before you pay a deposit for the property. They will not make any changes to the contract. Do not believe anything that is not in writing. Better still, avoid them.

Bridgfords was the agent for the people…

Bridgfords was the agent for the people we bought our property from. They provided great service including obtaining gas/electric readings from the property on the agreed completion date. They property had been empty for 6 months so they also checked it out and turned the heating on for us (in the very cold spell in January). At the handover of the keys they also provided a very good welcome pack. We feel Bridgfords went over and above in terms of service.

No communication, terrible service

AVOID!! Bridgfords - Countrywide are an absolute nightmare to work with. As a landlord you now have to deal with at least 7 different divisions and companies who do not communicate with each other or the landlord - deposits, maintenance, contracts, check out, arrears, lettings etc. Staff don’t know anything and don’t follow through, ignoring calls and emails, leaving you stuck in an endless loop trying to get answers. No one is in charge or takes responsibility. Despite paying for a full management service they have managed nothing. I have spent weeks on the phone and sent countless emails trying to sort out Bridgford’s mistakes around end of tenancy, check out and arrears. 3 months on the issues are still not resolved. Official complaint submitted.

If only there was 0 rating I could give

If only there was 0 rating I could give. Worst experience with a letting agent ever, they have been withholding my daughters deposit for nearly 4 weeks now claiming work is being completed on the flat after her and her flat mate vacated on the 15th November 2024. When we went to finalise the cleaning on the weekend of the 15th Nov, there were clearly painters in decorating where the leak in the living room was (leaking for most of the tenancy) and a few spots in the bedrooms, I have pictures ofthe whole flat on vacating as proof. However, despite holding her deposit to this date the flat has already been readvertised on the 24th November ready to move into 9 days after she moved out because it is fit for tenancy, as we had left it! ! It is now the 11th Dec and we are still being fobbed off with excuses as to why they are not returning her deposit! Cleaning carpets apparently now!! We left the flat cleaner than when she first moved in and I have already cleaned the carpets. I have sent a complaint to their head office / parent comany, Countryside Residential Ltd and will be following it up by reporting them to their ombudsman! If anyone needs to know who the ombudsman is, it is 'The Property Ombudsman'. I sincerely wish I had read their terrible reviews before she rented the flat. Avoid Bridgefords at all cost!

Awful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.

Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

Apalling handling of my mother-in-laws…

Apalling handling of my mother-in-laws property. Took a massive %age of the rent, did nothing for the money, never communicated, never responded to messages or calls, left us with a squatting tennant for over a year after being serviced notice, never checked the property properly, never followed up on the deposit so we lost that as well. One star is far too much to give them. I suggest you never consider using this company.

Avoid Bridgefords at all costs

I have experiences of renting and buying with various agents in the past but has never across an agent as bad as Bridgfords Durham branch. During my purchase of a property in Durham, they lied again and again to cover a minor thing that the garage lock was broken. When the keys were handled over and they no longer could cover this lie, the agent-in-charge actually quit the job exactly on that day. Meanwhile, the letting team tried to convince me to let them manage the property on my behalf. When I declined the service, they even attempted to withhold any related property documents from me. I tried again and again to contact Bridgfords at the time and spoke to various agents, but never even got a proper response. It was very unpleasant and frankly very upsetting. What an ‘impressive’ operation! I would avoid Bridgefords at all costs.

I have just finalised my offer to rent…

I have just finalised my offer to rent a flat in Manchester. The team at bridgfords have been helpful the entire journey. Peter, the lettings rep, stayed in constant communication with me during the whole process and made it very easy. I completed this offer whilst out of the country and needed it to go smoothly. Peter ensured this happened. Great service
