Started the journey of selling my flat with Bridgfords well, great listing, quickly found a buyer, then Bridgfords conveyancing service took over and was incompetent at every turn. 6 months on from ac... See more

Very unsatisfactory experience so far!
Put in an offer on an already vacant flat at the beginning of the week as the property I'm currently in has sold so i need to find somewhere urgently and this fitted the bill perfectly.. Rang them back today to find out why I've not heard anything from them to only find out they still had not submitted my offer to the seller and that they would be doing it today and would get back to me later about the outcome of my offer..surprise surprise i have not heard anything back from them im appalled at their lack of enthusiasm I thought they were ment to be selling properties not sitting on them!! I also mistakenly thought they were a reputable estate agents until I read all the negative reviews on here some with the similar experience I'm currently having with them!!
Very bizarre ethos
My wife and I found a property of interest being marketed by the Washington branch. We were in a very strong position regarding our status as we are actually completing on our current property on the 30th and prepared to move into rented to get the right house moving forward. This was pointed out to the representative who took the phone call. We viewed the property and I must say the young lady who came out was very friendly and professional. It was very clear from both the pictures and the live viewing that the property required a lot of work both inside and out to make it liveable. We exercised due diligence and found that the property next door had been on the market in June 2024 for exactly the same price as the one we had interest in but it had been fully modernised, had an extension and fully landscaped garden. We felt a below asking price was in order taking this information into consideration and made contact again with the Washington office. The offer was put forward and we were told as it was 5 minutes to closing they would contact the vendors Monday and be in touch. Monday came and went with no follow up call. Today I rang back in and spoke to the exact person I’d discussed the offer with and he seemed totally un phased he hadn’t made any contact with an update. I explained the rational behind the offer regarding the house next door and he replied ahhh that house is much smaller. When I pointed out we had the original listing in front of us and it was exactly the same he just said oh and moved on. Again we explained the situation and even intimated we may go up a little. He said he would go back to the vendors and call me back. Well would you believe it still no call back. I’m really now not surprised after reading the rest of the reviews on here but I do hope someone of a higher level reads this and maybe educates this chap on the art of selling and negotiating. Right now he’s more sales prevention and a poor representative for front of house sales. We will move on and look elsewhere.
Excellent customer service received…
Excellent customer service received again from Helen & Natalie at the Yarm Branch, always kept me informed and up to date with the progress of the sale of my house, this is the 2nd time i've used Bridgfords Estate Agents in Yarm, very professional and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Just sold my house with Bridgfords in…
Just sold my house with Bridgfords in Withington and couldn't fault them. They communicated with me regularly, kept me updated with the sale, chased solicitors up when needed and supported me throughout the process. Huge thanks to the Withington team, especially Richard, Sadaf, David and James. Excellent service from a very helpful team.
Had a great experience with Bridgfords…
Had a great experience with Bridgfords when renting our new flat Katherine made it so easy for us pensioners who are not so tech minded. It was all done in around 10 days and we are loving our new home. Thank you to all the staff at Chorley your brilliant.
Conflict of interest
I was lied to by the manager of one of the branches when I put my property in their hands to manage and realised the tenant was friends with one of the staff, I challenged this with the manager, as soon as I realised and was told that she wasn't involved in that side of things, she very much was, she was lettings and quite possibly advised the tenant against me. It was a complete conflict of interest, one that has cost me dearly and I tend to take the matter further, I have already been in touch with ARLA. There was much more besides but this is the main issue.
Bridgefords Tameside lost trust…
good at getting you to sign the dotted line to sell your property, started off viewings turning up with no bookings, dealing with different staff members, delay in reply’s and emails sometimes ignoring them all together. we sold after 3 days to a buyer who was known to them (previous employee). only to find out that she been informed of a new property viewed it and offer accepted less than 24hrs of going on Rightmove. Went on Rightmove on the 16th we received an email midday on 17th to inform us she pulled out. now going with a different agent hopefully a trusted one

Horrendous end of tenancy experience
Horrendous end of tenancy experience, we started a complaint process with them, really unprofessional, they don't respond to emails or calls, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere

Oliver Hawksworth is an exceptional Property Manager in the Sheffield Office.
We have had a number of major problems with the flat he manages in Leeds for us and every time Oliver has solved the problem after really going the extra mile to do so!
He is also friendly and courteous and extremely prompt in his responses - well done Oliver!

Grace at Bridgfords Withington was great in helping us through the viewing and application process. She fit us in last minute to a viewing of a house in manchester that we ended up signing and was excellent at keeping us updated during the whole process. Couldn’t have asked for better :)
Bridgfords, Sale
Katie Leslie from the Sale Branch, dealt with the letting of our property, she was very professional and helpful, answered all our queries and kept us up date all the way through.
4th tennant same issues- damp, mould, negligence
I am the forth tennant leaving my current rental property with the same letting agency and landlord due to the same issues. Mold, damp, negligence and conditions quite frankly not fit for living. I'm breaking my tenancy agreement with permission of the landlord, however never expected to be hit with Bridgfords re-housing fee because quite frankly didn't expect bridgfords to take on this property with a now fifth tennant following years of the same issues not fixed. The 95 year old landlord lord is maybe not able to care for this property but I'm not reviewing him right now. There's something really sinister about a company needing capital gain to the degree that they are willing to miss sell and mislead another tennant into this property a fifth time. Please please stay away.
Edit- just noticed that they have a new tennant already from a video viewing alone. Pictures posted of the property are from years ago. Next tennant likely spun the same lines as me, "we are so busy with viewings on this property it's so desirable we can't possibly fit you in, take the video viewing and we advise you to go for it within the next 24 hours before it gets snapped up" there have been no physical viewings of this property whilst I have been here. This is miss selling and pressure sell tactics. The next person will likely have had to pay the same heavy holding fee as me, there rent has gone up by £50 and their deposit by £200 from the 7 month's when I came in with minimal work done on the neglected property. This company is predatory.
Katherine and Liz at Bridgfords…
Katherine and Liz at Bridgfords Lettings in Stockport have provided nothing but first class service. Found us a tenant in the first week of the property going on the market. Kept us updated throughout the whole process with constant emails, phone calls and text messages. Would highly recommend. Excellent customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If I could give them zero stars I would. Absolutely shocking service and they’re purposely obstructive when it comes to reporting and completing repairs in a timely manner. They rely on tenants not knowing the law or their rights.

More views promised in a week than others I can mention.
Yes I realise not sales……..yet!
A one star rating is too good for this…
A one star rating is too good for this business! Completely inept from the agent to their so-called professional mortgage broker. Allowed seller's solicitor to harass and bully me and also bombarded me with messages whilst at work but didn't answer calls when I tried to contact them. I am now out of pocket as seller has withdrawn the property even though it still shows for sale.
ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE BANNED
ABSOLUTELY SHOULD BE BANNED! Illegal and disgusting behaviour from the people,
Bridgfords Wakefield
Big thanks to Fay and Stephanie who went above and beyond from start to finish on the sale of our house!
Would highly recommend and certainly would use their services again.
