Appalling service during initial home claims survey
Appalling service! Water damage due to a leaking roof.
I have a surveyor come today on behalf of my Halifax home buildings and contents insurance. I had 59MPH winds which caused structure damage to my roof. I had Halifax send out an asssessor and first time I had dealings with Davies BVS.
I was treated poorly by the assessor. He did not take my viewpoints, didnt properly inspect the damage to my roof and didnt even go inside the roof to inspect the water damage leading into wet and damp inside walls. He took other calls when he spent 25 minutes and the inspection itself was not thorough at all.
His words to me were you need to replace my roof which has been maintained well in the last years.
Appalling none professional service. The images are not even clear.
The surveyor is called Tony Iacovitti and he was very dismissive and whilst is independent he was unprofessional and his attitude to myself in my own home was dreadful.

Very similar to the reviews below. Admiral are our insurer and sent round BVS (think now rebranded as davies) further to water damage from flooding. 6 months on we STILL haven't had our claim fully settled as BVS continually request the same information from us then argue what we have submitted is incorrect. Admiral have been very helpful but we have lost countless hours trying to establish what's going on with BVS. Surveyor included the cost of laminate flooring in the claim where we had tiling so didn't even establish materials correctly. From booking an appointment for them to come round (they were out and out rude at this stage) through to today they have been a nightmare to deal with and we still don't have a resolution.

This company uses agreed rates for work, in collusion with Hasting insurance. They set a low amount, far below reasonable quotes and claim they cannot increase the claim as its set. This is not in your insurance policy. Avoid at all costs. Total con artists.

Well structured easy to use client claim specific web portal, that clearly shows the claim state of play, information gathered and current status. Improvement on web site response timing to reduce latency between actions and timeliness of client communications and outstanding issues would be helpful, otherwise superb pain free experience. AVOID AVOID AVOID! The most appalling service from this company on behalf of Axa. 1 year on from our water leak, we are now homeless as our house is inhabitable, but do they care? No! 1 year of the most inefficient, appalling service from both Axa and this company. Trying to force us to have cheap replacements not like for like. Zero communication and when I spoke to 1 claim handler (we have had 6 now and 5 surveyor visits) I was asked ‘why was I so stressed?’ Have never been treated so appallingly by any company in my 52 years on this earth.
Had an escape of water
Had an escape of water. Months of going backwards and forwards and quite frankly holding our willies in our hands we somewhat reach an agreement. Note, having to wait 4 weeks with no contact, to be told the claim isn’t being altered. Now having waited 11 days for said payout, which, is yet to be paid, having been told 7-10 days initially. Initiated the claim with AXA, so avoid them clowns too.
You will have more of a chance of going to the circus, and having them make sense than using these bunch of clowns. Absolutely useless.

Truly awful company
Truly awful company. We had a leak in the bathroom, we called admiral and they were very helpful and passed us on to BVS, they sent a surveyor round who clearly had zero idea what he was talking about. We ended up getting three different quotes from three different plumbers and they were all different to the surveyor.
BVS then stopped responding to us and lied to admiral and ourselves about contacting us.
After four months we still have not resolved this.

Dealing with Davies BVS has been great, they were very clear throughout our claim and put our minds at ease during the whole process.
Insurance clam for kitchen ceiling
Our kitchen ceiling had collapsed whilst we were away on holiday due to a water leak from upstairs. The surveyor phoned us the evening before our scheduled date for the survey and confirmed the time of our appointment. He arrived on time and was polite and professional in assessing the repairs needed. We then sent in builders estimates via their website which were slightly higher than the amount offered and he agreed to increase the offer to match.
