No generator returns
I purchased a new Honda EU 2200i generator from the Camping World in Davenport, Iowa on May13,2025 and saved $100 from the usual price. I declined the offer of a pricey, extended, no questions asked return warranty. Unfortunately after unboxing the generator and adding gas and oil, it would not start. Camping World does not accept returned generators, and suggested contacting Honda. A Honda dealer repaired the generator. The lesson I learned is that you may have to deal directly with the product manufacturer even if the new item you purchase from Camping World is non functional out of the box. Be certain to read the return policy carefully.
Extremely Poor Service – Avoid Camping World Online
I placed an order for the Thule Motion 3 XL Low Roof Box - Black from the Camping World website on May 26, 2025. The site promised dispatch within 5–10 days, but I heard absolutely nothing for two weeks—no shipping confirmation, no updates, nothing.
I had to chase the company myself through WhatsApp and phone calls to get any information. After four weeks, I received a final message saying:
"We are at the mercy of our purchasing team, of course, we can cancel the order if this has taken too long."
That level of response is completely unacceptable— no accountability, just a vague excuse and an offer to cancel. So I did. I cancelled the order and will never do business with Camping World again.
If you value your time, money, and basic communication, avoid ordering from them.
Not as bad as I was expecting
Have read hundreds of negative reviews, an was leery of doing business there. I went to the Hope Mills/Fayetteville location, and surprisingly was very pleased with the whole experience. Everyone there was very nice, courteous and respectful. My salesman was Brian and he did everything he could to make it easy as possible. Everyone else I dealt with treated me the same. Not gonna say it was a quick and pleasurable experience, but they did everything possible to make it a painless/laid back experience. Have not dealt with parts or service departments, so no review on those, but their sales team get a A+ in my book!
Camping World did not stand behind their promises or products.
I purchased a camper from Camping World that was advertised as fully inspected and ready for use, but the experience has been deeply disappointing from day one. When I got the camper home, I immediately discovered the battery didn’t work, the front window wouldn’t open, and the bathroom fan was nonfunctional.
I had also purchased an extended warranty that was supposed to cover any necessary repairs. When I brought the camper back shortly after purchase—even offering to pay for repairs out of pocket—it sat for months waiting for repairs. During that time, the only thing that happened was they replaced a faulty battery and subsequently damaged the countertop, which then had to wait three months to be replaced. I also had to pay for a repair inspection for repairs that they were never able to complete. The front window was never fixed in a working manner, the fan was never replaced due to repeated delays and incorrect parts ordered (reason given by their service rep), and none of the issues were covered under the warranty I was sold. We were also told the damage to the paint would not be covered under the paint warranty they sold.
The result? A camper sold under false pretenses of a “full inspection,” along with additional paint and repair plans that meant absolutely nothing in the end.
Camping World did not stand behind their promises or products. I regret this purchase and cannot recommend them based on my experience.
Read all reviews b4 buying anything here
Very friendly when you’re buying. I should have read the reviews before buying. It is sad that after customers sharing there experiences the company will do something about it, But NO. Sometimes in corporate they forget that we are the eyes and ears for them. Just got my first trailer and come out with a bitter taste. There parts department n San Diego needs mayor help starting with the parts manager. It really looks like NO ONE IS HAPPY THERE. Remember Campaign world that where there is smoke there is fire. One thing for sure is that I will never visit this store again and probably cancel my good Sam membership as well. And moving my business To a places that may be more friendly and ready to help a first time buyer. And future RVer
I trade a camper in
I trade a camper in , put 11,000.00 down on top of that paid 18 months payments and when I offered to sell back, they would only pay less than the balance owed. Yeah stay away from camping world they a bunch of crooks.
I honestly wish I could give it a…
I honestly wish I could give it a negative star where to begin from. Being profiled when I walked in the door.
Which is fine? I walked out. And literally, 7 hours later bought an RV somewhere else cash, which apparently they do not like they would much rather you finance.
Moving forward to what actually really set me off. Today was they had a flash sale on some generators. I went to purchase one online and lo and behold. I got charged for ten I tried to dispute the matter, but it's now gonna take 5 to ten business days to fix this issue, this is a major inconvenience. As now, my credit card is over its limit. And I have many different accounts set up on auto pay's which this will prohibit. I have tried to contact my credit card company who tells me. It goes back 2 the merchant when I talk to the merchant. They don't seem to really care at all much less. The problem will still consist because they have not tried to fix the issue. Stay away from this place stay away skinners says at Gmail if you would like to hear more ...

A new customer and a welcome back Customer satisfied
Well, camping world is a good place to buy an RV from especially the service department. One of the employees named Gregg did a great job helping me out on my camper. I would recommend him in the company for anyone looking for a new RV or used I give them a 10
Bad quality & srvc saved me from spending $100k
I arrived prepared to buy a new 2024 (last years model) Thor Sequence camper van. I left without it, disappointed in the quality and CW treatment.
Michael told me the Sequence had been prepped and handed me off to another employee for a walk-thru. He was friendly and tried to be helpful, but after he struggled to answer some basic questions admitted he had never been in a Sequence before, so he called for someone else to help. He was also friendly, but only knew slightly more, so they called somone else. After the 3rd guy could not answer questions about the water heater timer function, he told me I needed to take accountability for learning about the RV myself and just watch YouTube videos to explain everything. This for a vehicle discount priced at over $100,000.
In the course of this interaction, I observed several problems with the Sequence:
-Badly fitting shelves, one so bad that I could put my fingers between the shelf and the side of the cabinet. It was barely on the bracket at all, and would have collapsed as soon as any weight was put on it.
-Gasket material in the pop up roof was coming off in multiple places.
-Technician concluded that the drivers side of the pop-up roof would not latch when closed
I'm sure I would have found more problems if I kept looking, but I wasn't interested in proceeding and went back in. In the course of that discussion he brought in his manager, who admitted he knew about the problem with the roof not latching, and had entered a work order for it to be fixed. They knew that I planned to drive away with the RV that evening, yet were going to let me start a long trip with a roof that they had documented did not latch completely. Doesn't matter that all could have been fixed under warranty-it could have been fixed before I ever looked at it. How much more would have shown up once I started to drive it.
I had plenty of reasons to walk away from it, and they said they would refund my $2000 deposit. After 2.5 weeks and multiple unanswered emails, I filed a dispute with my credit card and got the money back.
I've kept this factual and not included many adjectives re: my opinion of Michael and Greenwood Camping World, although I have plenty. Roll the dice, maybe you'll get a quality vehicle and decent treatment, maybe not. Did I mention that they were going to increase the price $5000 if I paid cash instead of agreeing to finance it? Never mentioned until final papers prepared showing the financing, which I had not asked for.
don't deal with these liars!
We made a cash purchase of new travel trailer. Found out later that they did a hard pull on our credit report which we had briefly unfrozen for other matters. They claimed that we authorized it but did not provide copy of any signatures, only an online "check box" stating we agreed to it. IP address given did not match our computer. Camping World claimed their credit verifier (700 Credit) had the signed acknowledgement, but they logically claimed otherwise.
As part of the purchase, they tried to upsell their overpriced catalog of parts (based on like part comparisons online), even going so far as to partially install a new hitch and then trying to get us to purchase (per the salesman). We found several areas where they lacked product knowledge as they "tried" to give us a checkout on the purchase (example includes incorrect routing of emergency brake cable). We required 2 visits to get out the door because they didn't know how or bother to measure hitch height on the first visit! Do not even bother with these losers!
DO NOT BUY YOUR RV FROM CAMPING WORLD
DO NOT BUY YOUR RV FROM CAMPING WORLD - RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DEALER! They do not stand behind their product nor their customers! Sold us an RV with a known subpar railing system in it, it took them over 2 years to fix the handle on our refrigerator and when they ruined our floor during their repair of the railing system, they tried to blame us. Not to mention we lost almost an entire camping season. Now that we've traded their camper in with another dealer, they won't even reimburse us the full amount of our warranty! So again - RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS DEALER!
Camping world sucks.
All lies. The warranties and roadside assistance are made out to be wonderful. They are not. Had a flat tire and we had to pay up front for the tire to be changed. Still waiting for reimbursement after 3 months. Still have not received our license plates, they never sent the paperwork in to the State. Tow temporary plates have since expur we d, so we cannot drive it. They do not return calls. Very dissatisfied.
Had a great experience at Camping World…
Had a great experience at Camping World Anthony/El Paso location Matthew emailed me off my marketplace ad to consign my RV guaranteed me a price after a few weeks I got impatient and asked if it would help to lower price, he asked me to be patient. They sold my RV and sent me the amount he agreed to pay, they could have sent me less or told me that had a buyer willing to pay less knowing I was ready to lower price they did not and sent me the agree price. Showing me honesty and integrity. Thank you Camping world El Paso.
Buyer Beware!!
Buyer Beware!!! You might be the exception, but don't be surprised if you regret your purchase. They are a powerhouse. They come out of the gate strong. They will spit shine your shoes before you sign the contract. And they are good at selling. I could write pages on our experience.
Marcus Lemonis is the CEO of Camping World. We experienced highly compromised ethics in our transaction. It's a nasty business. They only pretend to care about you. Make wise decisions.
Scammers!!!!!!!!!! Con Artists
I would not even give them a one star rating.
Sellers and buyers BEWARE!!!
Con artists and SCAMMERS!
Open your eyes and do not deal with them!
Please do not buy from camping world
Please do not buy from camping world, it’s a complete scam. I went in looking for a small travel trailer that would get my family out camping. I found the one that would fit my needs. The salesman and I came to an agreement on monthly payments. I was told that I needed insurance on the trailer before it left the lot. I asked again if the terms we agreed upon was final, they said yes and to go ahead and purchase the insurance. They took me out and gave me a tour of the trailer. I was excited and ready to take my trailer home. We signed a few documents and asked if the terms are still what we agreed upon and they said yes. A gentleman took my truck to hook up the trailer to take home while we signed the financial contract. Well to my disbelief it was not close to what we agreed upon. That’s the moment I realized it was a scam. They build you up and tell you everything you want hear and after 3 hours you are lied too. I told them to bring my truck back so I can leave. Camping world does not care at all. I had to drive home and cancel the insurance I bought for that travel trailer. Be very careful when you shop with them. Just heartless..
I ordered before at 8am

About time someone is telling their…
About time someone is telling their story about the bad work and customer service camping world is known for. Reference Chanel 8 News in Las Vegas. I quit doing business with them 10 plus years ago for that reason alone.m
Wake up consumers
Wake up consumers. Camping World is like every car dealer out there but just sells campers. Its no surpeise that they are dishonest and not transparent and so on. You need to shop around plus educate yourself and walk away if your gut tells you that. Its not that complicated.
