Car Next Door is a rip off.
I have used CND for many years as it presented much better value than comparable carshare services or traditional car rental. However I used CND again recently on a trip to Tasmania and ended up being charged some nasty surprise fees, including distance charges and a cleaning fee for a car that was handed back clean! This made it just as expensive as hiring from Avis, Budget etc, for a clapped out car 10 years old. Also I learnt their dispute resolution for customers doesn’t exist. Honestly, just rent from the traditional services, you’ll get a new car and a lot less headaches.
Using CND is a big risk
Using CND is a big risk. You could lose a lot of money. I hired a car and tried using the sunvisor. It just fell down even though I hadnt applied any force. They sent me a bill for $1600. When I asked them to provide a breakup of the bill, they flatly refused.
Useless customer service
Useless customer service,
App and website is faulty and needs a lot of work.
Refunding people’s deposits is the lowest of their priorities once the trip has finished. Will not use again.
cheating and dishonest
cheating and dishonest: offered a discount price but in the end still charged me for full price. sent so many emails with proofs but the support girls still keep say, "no mistakes", and "any more questions?".
(it should be $35 a day for 5 days after $45 a day in the first 5 days, total 10 days).
