Centrebus run The Hop service in Leicester. It is a free bus that drives around the city centre. Buses are always clean, nearly always on time (it is a city centre so traffic holdups can be expected) and it is a fantastic service for the city to have.

Would give a 0 star. Most horrendous bus service. After 4pm doesn't arrive properly. Same pathetic excuse bout traffic. Whilst three of the same buses from the same service turn up twice within 30 minutes following the same route

It’s frustrating to deal with unreliable bus services, especially in a place where public transport is expected to be timely and efficient. The situation with Bus No. 17 and 17A in Luton seems to be a major problem. These buses are often extremely late, with delays ranging from 45 minutes to an hour, far beyond the maximum 15-minute delay that might be acceptable.

This issue disproportionately affects older passengers who rely on punctuality and dependability in public transport. Additionally, it’s troubling to hear that the bus drivers on these routes are described as rude and lacking in manners.

Unfortunately, it appears that Centrebus, the company operating these routes, has not taken adequate action to address these concerns, leading to ongoing frustration for passengers. If you rely on these buses, it’s crucial to be aware of these recurring issues and perhaps explore alternative transport options if possible.

Today we had a horrible experience with the driver of the 58 bus from Market harbourough to Lutterworth at 12.45.The parking area for the busses outside the market was busy so the driver parked to the side of another bus.Usually as 1 bus departs the drivers move forward and the 58 moves to the front bus shelter.Today the said driver just pulled out to leave the parking area and when me and another gentleman.both pensioners .tried to board the bus he refused to let us get on.he said we should have waited at the "back of the bus",!!!Eventually he reversed and allowed us to board but was downright rude.I hope I never have to encounter him again.I worked all my life in the public eye and would have been repremanded for such behaviour

Drivers drive passed you or dont show up!!!

I absolutely loathe this service. I waited 45 minutes yesterday for a bus from morrisons glenfield. The 535pm one. And then to put the cherry on the f in cake i waited an hour today for the 6pm bus and it didnt show up!!

Just absolutely rage inducing. In the freezing cold! Ive been at work all day too! And now i have to get 2 buses home.

Country is going to absolute pot! Cant wait for it to end

Update - 04/04/24

Today, yet again, the bus didn't show up at station road, glenfield at 535pm. Checked the online tracker and nowhere near. Now going to get 2 buses home.

The other morning was an absolute nightmare. The bus didnt show up for an hour and then the next one went speeding past without even looking at the passengers. I actually started crying because i was late for work. I then left and went back, the following bus stopped off at glenfield hospital and the driver wouldn't even explain why. Some time passed and he eventually told us that the driver taking over hadnt shown up. It was the black guy. Eventually he turns up and is laughing and gives some pitiful excuse.

The drivers are thick as ... ....

I will keep updating this review. That's if i even bother getting the crap bus to and from work.

40 bus to station road was a no show yet again. 535pm one. Although seen it going the other way.

Also, from the 28th this rubbish bus won't be stopping at my stop to get to work now but alot further down. You say you're doing it to improve nut thats no improvement for me.

Lol so ive gone to another bus stop. Getting 2 buses to get home now. And lol i seen the 40 bus with the black girl in it. She was late. She has also drove straight passed me another time when i was literally feet away from the bus stop.

The bus to work was a joke too. The driver stopped for the guy to let him on first and the driver was staring at him. Like, excuse me but i was first in the queue, creep.

Happy to get the 2 buses now to home and work. Sod this terrible service and staff

Rude drivers, it goes to like every single place in england, not nice service, low quality, no care and compassion for customers/passangers, terrible drivers, lots of accidents. Please fix this terrible service

08pm driver drove straight past, he did see me because he gestured at me. Not the first time this has happened. Your drivers just seem to do what they like

Number 10 bus in Luton. Always late and today they didn’t even bother to stop when the bus was clearly emptying. Their app says 5 busses are working on that route but when I checked there was not. Waited nearly 40 minutes for a bus in the middle of Friday afternoon. In the end I got the Ariva bus which runs better and regularly even if a little more expensive. I’d rather pay the price and won’t catch the number 10 bus anymore.

I put my contactless card too soon under the payment machine, and the driver snapped in a loud voice "Wait"! I was so shocked that l didn't speak, and felt humiliated and bullied. Today l got on the bus and told him how rude he was to me a couple of days ago, and he just laughed and kept denying it. I expected an apology at the very least, but he just laughed at me.l don't appreciate this bad behaviour from your drivers, after all, us passengers are keeping them in jobs. This driver drives the no.37 centrebus from Luton Town centre to Lewsey Farm. He is an Eastern block man, slim with short light brown hair.Your drivers need to be reminded to show common curtorsy.

I live on the 80 route and it is scary to see the standard of driving this company allows drivers reading or taking their high vis off whilst they are moving.
Elderly neighbours who use the service tell of drivers regularly going down country lanes faster than they should failing to stop for customers when passing a bus stop or missing part of the route all together on one occasion I had just arrived home from work when I spotted an elderly neighbour looking flustered at the stop outside her house on enquiring if she was okay found that she had a hospital appointment and there was no sign of the bus and had been waiting ten minutes before it was due so I took her.
After this rubbish service I am wondering how the government will be able to persuade people to use public transport I have since found out most of the drivers are eastern block and there are no inspectors at the main bus stop deregulating the bus service was the nail in the coffin for punctual busses in this country

When operating well, is hard to beat. However, these guys are seriously inconsistent with their timetable. I tried to rectify the issues I have with them through their customer service, but they always respond that it takes them 28 days to investigate each issue and then you never hear from them again. Their service needs to be more reliable. Too many times, I have waited for their busses to come and they just never show up. This has happened three times within the last month. Their app is not as good as Arriva's is with tracking. Their bus drivers are better generally.
