Really excellent service
Really excellent service, from Felix in the store, to the delivery team, especially glad that they kept us informed about our purchase and delivery throughout.

No mention on website that dogs are not allowed
I checked the website before driving for an hour to purchase a lounge set for the garden. A small notice on the door when I arrived said dogs were not allowed. Totally unexpected, no mention on the website and it has a pet store inside!
I had no option but to drive all the way back home as I couldn’t leave my dog in the car for the length of time I would need
Highly recommend by your pet here..
I highly recommend the pet section of Chessington Garden Centre, I was purchasing a pet tortoise and it's a big decision making sure how and what I need to do to care for this pet. I had spoken to Jack at the centre who has a wealth of knowledge and really helped me with making the right choices and questions I had and said to come back anytime for assistance.
I took my time and reviewed the information given to me by Jack and a week later I made my purchase to give a baby tortoise a home.
Very good customer service and approachable with excellent knowledge.
Highly recommend to by your next pet here.
Thank you
Excellent service
Excellent service provided by Chessington Garden Centre. I have been working on a flat refurb in central London. Flat is on the 6th floor and has a large roof terrace that required plants and soil for some new planters. Chessington Garden Centre staff provided invaluable advice on plants that would thrive in windy exposed conditions and came up with a solution for the access issues. I was kept informed regarding delivery and the delivery team were really helpful and even waited to take away the pallets the soil was delivered on. First rate service - thank you to Doug, Chris, James, Jack and the rest of the team who made it such a seamless process.
Anti Covid
My wife and I are a vulnerable couple who wished to visit the centre and have lunch.
I called beforehand to check what preparations were in place to protect us from Covid-19 and the answers gave us the confidence to eat at the restaurant.
When we arrived we signed in to the track and trace system, were were served with a panini which was fine as the screen was high enough.
However when we got the coffees the assistant was tall enough to look over the screen rendering it useless and even worse when we went to pay there were no protective screens and the tiller was not wearing any PPE.
I was told that the cutlery was individually wrapped - there were none available.
We went outside to eat where were thought we would be safer. However we witnessed the operative cleaning the tables. He wiped the table nicely but when it came to the chairs he did not touch the arms which are the most important bit. Thankfully seeing this enabled my wife to clean them herself.
I have emailed the Centre to offer constructive criticism but they have not deigned to reply.
We will eat elsewhere from no on.

Gone to pot
Whether a consequence of C-19 or not Chessington Garden Centre is a shadow of what it used to be. Two recent experiences: (1) last visit barely any stock, not even tomato feed at the height of summer, no bird feed unless you wanted a gigantic sack, plants very thin, (2) telephone ordering and delivery the first time was a great success, the second time a woman rudely shouted at me to say we don't deliver to your location, hmm go figure, I had a delivery six days before that. Used to be a great garden centre, it's sadly gone to pot.

Appalling service
Very poor customer service. We paid to use the Garden Design service earlier this year. After the initial 30 minute onsite visit for which we paid the standard £84 charge, we asked to have a discussion about what the designer was proposing before committing to a further £284 +VAT to proceed to design plans. Attempts to contact the Garden Design team required about 3 emails / calls for every response with the result that we have got nowhere and the initial outlay was a waste of money. The fact that my letter of complaint about the poor service to the General Manager at Chessington also got no response says a lot about their customer care culture.
