Final finish of the knife should be better for that price range. For example traditional pinn cross on the handle is miss aligned so it doesn't even look like cross. Horn handle is poorly polished on few places near the stainless bolsters. Knife edge was completely dull when it arrived and tip of the blade was brushed (cut) of, I suppose on a grinding stone.

Ordering was simple even with the customisation. The knife got lost in the post for a few days but couteau-laguiole were quickly prepared to make a new one although the original one did make it. Great service and a really nice product.

I have ordered two items from them, a knife and then I ordered a leather sheath for the knife. In both cases the items were despatched within 24 working hours and both were of top quality. Would have no hesitation in ordering from them again.

We bought a sport knife for our son in law who is a passionate fly fisherman and have no doubt it will be a lifetime friend. It's exceptionally well designed and made. The service was first class, the blade was engraved and the packaging worthy of an expensive, hand made knife. The handle is juniper wood which looks great and smells of cedar. No hesitation in recommending. Just hope someone buys me one!

Having spent a few hours looking for a knife on the internet, I came across the Couteau web site. It was by far the best one I had found, for once there were good photos of the knives. Plus the videos showing how the knives were made. I eventually made my choice. And a few days later my knife arrived, unfortunately there was a flaw in the blade. I contacted Couteau, and their response was immediate and I was offered an exchange. Unfortunately after my replacement was lost in the Post, I again contacted Couteau and again their response was immediate. Another knife was sent to me, this time it arrived. I was very pleased with my knife. Couteau provide excellent customer service and produce an excellent product. I would recommend a purchase from them

The prices of Laguoile Actiforge knives are excellent when compared to some other producers. The blades of Swedish steel are the same, and in some cases, the overall finish of the knife is better, so a good offering overall.

A minor collector of Laguoile knives, I ordered an Actiforge one as a birthday present for an uncle. Unfortunately, the Visa card payment on line didn't go through smoothly and the payment was refused. This was bizarre, as there was no valid reason for it. I therefore had to contact Actiforge and my bank to find out why. Nobody knew why! After 12 hours, the payment was debited from my account and Actiforge had to be contacted again, to check their own bank to see if the payment had been credited, which it had. So Actiforge mailed me the knife at the end.

The knife itself was quickly sent and received. It was well made and finished. Despite everything, I received another e-mail from Actiforge asking for me to pay my account! This was subsequently retracted after I sent yet another e-mail.

So, in summary, good knife and mailing service, but their admin needs som work.

Incidentally, this is the second order I've had from Actiforge. The first one, for two leather belt holders for Laguoile knives was a problem as well. On receipt, both items were damaged and had to be sent back and replaced. Should have been checked before dispatch, so another admin issue, sorry.

I ordered a knife with some trepidation as I wasn't sure it would be easy to have the product delivered to the UK. However I should' t have worried. Everything went smoothly and the knife arrived a day before the estimated delivery time. I was so pleased I am ordering another one today!!

We are delighted with the Laguiole steak knives we ordered! The quality of materials and workmanship make them enjoyable to see and to hold. This set is much finer than the lines we found at U.S. retailers. Thank you for the prompt and accurate delivery--we will definitely do business here in the future.

The knife I chose was a graduation present for my son. I found the web-site easy to navigate, engraving option simple to use and concluded my purchase using Paypal. The whole procedure went thru without any complications. The only glitch from my stand point was the tracking information came in French. I tried to use the language option but was unsuccessful-could very well be my inability to figure it out. I received the knife in a total of 2 1/2 weeks which is remarkable in itself but the kicker is the knife is beautiful, perfectly engraved as well as constructed in a manner that is nowhere to be found in the USA..I will purchase again from this company and suggest anyone looking for old world craftsmanship at an affordable price go no further that Couteau Laguiole for beautiful functional knives. One request would be to have the pamphlets that accompany the knives come in English when appropriate as the ones we received were in French...Merci Beaucoup.

I recently bought two customized Laguiole, but unfortunately at arrival I noticed some minor flaws on one of the knifes. By mailing some pictures to Jean Nourrisson I was immediately granted a replacement knife without any discussion. In less than a week from when I mailed the faulty knife to France I received a replacement.
I am very satisfied with the guarantee service. You really believe in service excellence, this is obviously not an empty word for Couteau-Laguiole.
It's the plain truth!
So I’ll be back with some more orders in the future.

Cork screw implemented, great quality: the gourmet survival granted!

The rivets on the horn handle are slightly prominent, can feel in the hand when using this knife.

I was on vacation with some friends recently, at an oceanside resort. Someone pulled out a bottle of wine on the first evening, and we soon realized that we had no corkscrew (PANIC!). We fumbled through all of the kitchen drawers in our cottage, to no avail. We sat there looking at the bottle, trying to come up with a solution, when one of my friends cried, "WAIT, I have a corkscrew in my car!". She darted out to her car, and came back with a beautiful knife/corkscrew and opened the bottle, forthright. I was so taken with "tool", that I asked if I could see it. She gladly showed it to me, and told me it had been a gift from a special friend, recently. I pulled out my phone and took a picture of it.

When I returned home after our trip, I got online and found the item on your website. I ordered one immediately! I am now the proud owner of a "Laguiole pocket knife with Black Horn handle and brass bolsters, corkscrew Réf.: LCH11202". I love it, and it always gets extra attention when I use it in front of guests.

There are various qualities of the as-named knifes, depending on the initial care or not (often not when they were fabricated out of the Lagiole country) devoted to their fabrication....as for other thinks made for the max of money gained through the most large quantities sold in contrast of the best quality obtained and more for the lowest general satisfaction of purchasers ... Then !!???
