heard There was a new garage opened up in cumbernauld found out it was DandG autocare phoned them up book car in. turned up in morning. Manerger was very professional and friendly and very helpful and was his staff. answered any questions I had. phoned me when car was fixed and the price was competitive with others garages very hard to find a garage u can trust I can say 100% use them again. 👍

D&G Falkirk, wouldn’t take my car anywhere else, they have done all work on my vehicles over the years. Im never the type to come on and leave a negative review however, what Ive experienced is nothing short of horrific.

I took my car in for an MOT, which they had to abandon due to the car overheating, which is completely understandable. I asked them to diagnose the car to find where the fault was coming from, to which they concluded to be an issue with the water pump. They tried to charge me £930 to fix this and another issue that was necessary to pass the MOT.

I spoke with a mechanic who I usually take my car to and relaid what I was told by D&G, to which he was outraged they tried to charge me that much for a job he could do for under £300.

After taking the car to my mechanic he had a further look just to be sure of the issue, and he found that the water pump was fine, and that the real issue was that the fan was not working properly. Again a job that costs under £100 to fix/replace.

I am absolutely disgusted that I was nearly done out of about £1000 (for the work getting done and for the cost of my MOT), when in the long run the repairs and another MOT has cost me no more than £250. I’d like to add to this, that due to being a student, finances are tight as is and to be hit with a bill of over £900, caused me crazy amount of stress. Not to mention, I could've paid that money and it still would have not fixed the actual issue with my car! As a young girl with not a lot of knowledge on these things, I feel totally taken advantage of and actually really concerned at the fact it's not just me who has nearly been done out of hundreds if not thousands of pounds for problems that could be sorted for half the cost, or problems that may not even be the actual issue.

This is shocking from D&G, and I would advise anyone to steer clear of them.

Car went into limp mode and took it to D&G in Stirling. Was charged £217 for a battery that i could buy online for £125! Total bill was over £800 - two days later car went back into limp mode. I went to trade the car in and couldn't as D&G had made a mistake with MOT mileage and the trade won't touch a car with a mileage discrepancy. Then opened the bonnet to check fluid levels and found they had cracked the manifold. Absolutely awful couldn't be worse.

Took my car into as had a fault with noise from brake pedal after paying bill £986.61 July I returned car as fault still there.
They could hear and feel fault through brake pedal so more work and another bill a week later for £210.Amazingly fault not fixed.Last years bill for brake disc etc was £453.86.

I asked mechanic to confirm was the car safe to drive which he replied yes because he can’t find the fault !

I then took the car to Springkerse Auto Centre and after speaking with mechanic he identified the fault within 5 mins ordered the part costing £80 and repaired total bill £180!

Please avoid D&G at all costs.

I have contacted Trading Standards.

D and G are always super helpful, go out of their way to be efficient and helpful and never overcharge or rip you off. Best garage I have ever used and thoroughly nice team too.

They fixed my car problem for the drive back. Next day had same issue, so they never fixed it, they just did what needed to be done to stop the sound it was making. £100, so not a small amount for hot air. Scammers

This is another follow up to my reviews left in 2023.

I can now confirm that the Motor Ombudsman declared in my favour and agreed that D&G were at fault for the disgraceful work carried out on my car. Not to mention the shocking customer service also received!!

D&G were also caught lying in relation to their response. I'm not surprised in the slightest after my dealings with them.

I was awarded a sum of money in order to settle with D&G who admitted fault when deciding to settle.

As I've said before and will always say AVOID D&G

Booked car into east kilbride garage simply to have my rear brake pads replaced was told they wouldnt use customers own pads.... was quoted £150-£200 for the job.....hour or two later they called me to say their diagnostic tool couldn't read my cars brake system and they couldn't release my rear brake motors and that they couldn't do the job.
I enquired why they didn't use a 12 volt battery to release the motors they said they don't do that.....i was also told I had a seized rear caliper and a very badly scored rear disc..... this was infact absolute nonsense ....as the small independent garage along the road I took it to confirmed there was nothing wrong with the caliper or disc...... they gladly done the work in exactly 1 hour using my own pads at the fantastic price of £80.00
D&g obviously don't need the custom...or maybe they thought I was a bit blonde..?

Originally I gave this garage 1 star. Since my review I received communication from their head office offering me a monetary voucher. I appreciate the contact and the fact the Company has made an effort to rectify the issue. I can only suggest that if you book your vehicle in with D&G or any other garage for that matter, that you check their hourly labour charge and also cost of the parts. I still think their hourly rate of 90.66 inclusive of vat is still quite high. I’d expect to pay this at a Dealership garage. The most I’ve been quoted in the Carlisle area from a small local garage was £60 per hour.

Carlisle Branch.. What a miserable, horrible experience. I had my car booked in for an MOT and service this morning. I arrived at 7:51, walked into the reception, and was greeted by someone with the most appalling attitude. His exact words? “We are not open yet. We open at 8:00. Come back in ten minutes.”
Wow. No “Good morning,” no “Sorry, sir, we’re not open just yet—would you mind coming back in 10 minutes?” Not even a “Feel free to sit here for a few minutes while we get sorted.” Nothing. Just pure attitude and ignorance.
That person had no idea who I was. For all he knew, I could’ve been their highest-spending customer of the year. But no, he didn’t care. Well, he can keep his attitude—and his company. They need me far more than I’ll ever need them.
And if they don’t want to see people at 7:50 when they open at 8:00, that’s fine. Just keep the bloody door locked. Simple.

Warning do not use. £34 break disc marked up to £97 per disc £23 pads marked up to £66. Total price to change only front pads and discs £387. Garage down the hill total price for same work £215. Just shame there too busy tonfit me in .Where's your price guarantee?????????????
