I’ve used D&G Autocare in Carlisle a few times now, always good on price, always happy to help, always willing to go the extra mile, nothing is too much trouble. I won’t go anywhere else now.

Professional, honest, helpful
I've had two MOTs at the Glenrothes branch now and I'm very pleased with the speed and with the communication before and after. Always fully clear, and above and beyond for tyre information - I'm very confident that I'm getting the best tyre advice as I had done some looking around before, and D&G advice was better.
Also able to MOT a Tesla Model S which many other garages can't due to the ramp size required.

W e are indebted to D and G
I can not sing the praises enough of the service and attention to detail that was shown to me by the staff in the D and G garage/autocare in Kirkcaldy when my car recently failed its MOT.
In particular I would like to thank Stevie who managed the ordering of the parts and the work by the mechanical engineers in the garage. He left no stone unturned and worked beyond his duty to help us. We are indebted to him.
I have no hesitation in recomending the D and G autocare to my friends. Kate

They were in denial I would have noticed the hole in the dash instantly..I put it back in in 2 seconds they failed the mot on this .its not the failed mot that upset me it was the managers rude attitude denied it and making me look like a fool.i will never use you lot and will recommend you to nobody. I hope you lose customers over this .unreal never use this lot plenty garages with nice managers out there.

D&G Carlisle
First time I've used D&G and definitely not the last. Staff very friendly, excellent service. The reception and waiting area exceptionally clean and welcoming perfect place for a woman wait compared to other garages. Five star.

Be careful what they try to charge for parts
Recently had some work done at their Stirling branch.
The mark up they put in a set of discs was astronomical!! Over £200 for a set of rear discs that would have cost less than half that at a motor factors.
Be careful of their prices as they like to over charge.
They will argue that they need to cover costs but a 200% mark up on one part is unacceptable.

Terrible garage
Terrible garage - do not use. I got two back tyres done - went onto the motorway and felt like I was onboard Falcon-9. Upon further inspection the old weights were still on my wheel - what’s the point in changing tyres and not balancing the wheel? I’m also going to have to check the torque on my wheel nuts because clearly they don’t do the basics here.
When I called up to explain they were happy enough to correct this, however, upon fixing no offer of an apology or anything - accountability would have been well recieved. Maybe even a partial refund for the sloppy work which cost me double my time? But no, nothing.
I will never use this joke of a garage again - and I highly recommend you take my advice.

Boycott all these garages and stand against homophobic abuse
Very disappointed.
In the past I gave this garage great reviews, spent alot of money and was very satisfied with the work but there has been a change of staff and I'm still waiting on a price for a part 4 working days later. Clearly don't want my business anymore.

Excellent service Dunfermline branch
I took my fleet car to their Dunfermline branch for its first service and the chap on reception was friendly and professional and the job was done on time. To get 5 stars it would’ve been great for the car to have had a quick clean, but otherwise they were excellent

Avoid at all costs
I along with my family have used D&G over several years unfortunately none of us will use the D&G in East Kilbride again. My car was serviced in August and I was advised I needed two new tyres, front discs and front brake pads. I questioned the need for new discs and pads as the car had only done 15,000 miles. I was advised Vauxhall was well known for this and then discussed the disc brakes at the back when the car has drum brakes. I knew these items didn't need replacing and was waiting for my MOT. However, my car underwent a recall today by
Vauxhall who did a vehicle check and confirmed neither the pads or discs require to be replaced anytime soon. Also a health check was done when I got new tyres and there was no concerns about the pads or discs.
So disappointed that a garage would advise a repair was required when it clearly doesn't. Only D&G can advise why they made such a statement. Definitely won't be back.

£952 MOT repairs with multiple overcharged items
I visited D&G Autocare in South Gyle for an MOT and full service yesterday. The Invoice Num is EG151106. I was quoted a shocking £1,182 for various repairs, including brakes, a spring, a tyre, etc. Here's the breakdown: £108 for a tyre, £186 for two hours of labour, £192 for two brake discs, £130 for a spring, plus several smaller items ranging from £26 to £49 each. On top of all this, they added 20% VAT. In the end, I paid £952 as I had to remove the full service to lower the cost a bit. (see detailed in the attached invoice picture).
After that, I checked the market price online and the nearby garage, i.e. GSM (Gyle Service & MOT Centre). I was overcharged by D&G to a great extent.
· Coil spring: D&G £130 +VAT, GSM £80-£90+VAT, online price £30-£70 including VAT
· Brake disc: D&G £96.8 +VAT, GSM £60+VAT, online price £20-£50 including VAT
· Brake pad: D&G £49 +VAT, GSM £38+VAT, online price £20-£30 including VAT
· Other items: their prices are still higher, but we can leave it later.
The price online is transparent, and I understand garage charges a premium. Apparently, their prices are much higher than the garage I randomly checked. I will NOT be returning! (I should have read all the low rating posts before I went there, which are not rare cases.)

Efficient and friendly service.
Efficient, friendly service and have used D&G a few times now for various one-off emergencies, flat tyre etc. I had my MOT and Service done with them this year. The under-tray of my car had a wee screw loose when I left - most likely wear and tear as it is an older car - but when I notified them of it, D&G made time to sort it out while I waited and didn't charge anything extra.
Things like this can happen to anyone and I was very pleased with how they handled it so quickly. I will be a returning customer!

My wife brought her car into the…
My wife brought her car into the edinburgh branch to have a break line replaced and they proceeded to try to charge her over £700 for a mixture of unsolicited work which was reduced to £400 after I had people from the industry go in to sort it out, this isn't the first time they have ripped of women bringing cars in, absolute cowboys avoid at all cost

Will certainly use them again!

Lost confidence in this garage, would not recommend
I started bringing my car to the D&G Autocare Glasgow garage several years ago. They seemed ok and I thought I could trust them, so I gave it a go.
The car is a Diesel car, 9 years old and about 100 000 miles. It was about 5 years old and 60 000 miles when I started using this garage. A car like this, well-maintained, and driven reasonably, would be expected to carry on relatively well for a good few more years.
However, over the years and after several expensive services, MOTs and issues building up with the car at this garage, I began to doubt the professionalism and honesty of their services.
For example,
- elements on the service sheets had not been ticked on several occasions - I was told it was an oversight and they had actually done the work, but I thought it was too many coincidences and wondered whether the work had really been done or not;
- the car maintenance book had not been signed for the last 3 services;
- parts on the car had not been put back properly e.g. the undertray cover under the car had not been put back correctly (screws had been lost – or damaged? - and replaced by some sort of cable ties) and the cover began to scrape on speedbumps - I had to bring the car back to the garage to get the undertray cover reattached. (Read on and you will see that the undertray cover has now completely disappeared and was simply not put back after the last service)
- Issues started to pile up on the car and each time I had hefty bills to pay
In May, I booked the car for a full service because it had some issues with the booster and the brakes, and I was going to drive down to France in June so wanted the car to be ready for the journey. I paid over £200 for the service and when I picked up the car, the issues with the booster and the brakes were still there. They apologised and asked if I could leave the car overnight so they could check again the next day. They ‘fixed’ the issues (apparently a hole in the boost pipe caused by the air con pipe) for another £500 (with supposedly a discount for the oversight during the service) and told me all was good, and I wouldn’t have any issue driving down to France.
I went away on my trip to France. The car broke down with a leak in the cooling system, several leaks on the air con pipe, and a broken ad blue pump which meant the car would be prevented from starting after a certain number of miles if not repaired. We did not have any accident, there were no incident along the way to explain all these issues. I had to get the car repaired in France for over £1000 and the garage there (very reliable, used by the family for over 40 years) said that the undertray cover had simply not been put back. We now need to source a new one and get it fixed, and that’s probably another £500. Needless to say that I am not returning to this garage and have now found a new one.
I do not recommend this garage. From my experience, I have a feeling that they don’t know what they are doing and did more damage than good to my car. They are friendly yes, but professional, competent, and honest? I don’t believe so.
I am assuming that Head Office is going to get back to me with a message to say that my comments are not the usual sort of comments they receive but I’ve actually seen quite a few 1-star reviews on their page and very often about unprofessional mechanics and overpriced services. Maybe not all D&G garages are the same and some may be better than others but the one I went to in Glasgow, I would highly recommend to avoid.

D&G Falkirk
I've used D&G Falkirk for about 5 years
I do the mechanical work on my own cars but take it to D&G for mots and find them to be very fair come mot time I was let down by a mobile tyre fitter the day before so I contacted d&g to cancel my mot because I couldn't find a garage to do the tyres at short notice
The guy at d&g said not to worry this would be taken care off to bring the car in at a earlier time so they could fit the new tyres before my mot
Absolutely brilliant can't thank you enough
I will continue to use for mots because I find this garage very fair
The staff are always friendly and helpful don't have any complaints will happily use for the foreseeable future thanks again 5stars
