I feel the service I received from the Davies & McGrath Law to be very good, especially as I was put onto them by a referral company and I have to say, I feel I was given a great company to deal with the sale and purchase of my old and new home, with not knowing much about this firm.
There was good rapport from both Charlotte and Zoe but especially Zoe who really supported me during some difficult times near to the end of exchanging contracts. Thank you.

I went through a company called Joseph and joseph who were shocking, ordered wrong searches delayed the sale never responded to anything. Luckily I had Kathryn Harrison from this company on my side. She did the work needed to complete the sale of my house purchase, without her being on the ball the sale would have fell through. She also communicated often keeping me in the loop and responding quickly to emails and phone calls.

i worked with Zoe and charlotte on a case recently they really are a dream team, they couldn't do enough for the vendor and generally are really lovely people, i would highly recommend them!

Kathryn & Mathieu were outstanding. As a first time buyer I struggled to follow progression and had many sticking-points with my property, they helped me overcome every hurdle and explained every part of the process to me along the way. These two did a fantastic job, even going to the extent of calling me before their holidays just to check-in and keep me posted. They helped guide me during my many declarations and bonuses, aside from the conveyancing itself, going above and beyond. Don't believe all the 1* reviews, my solicitors are a credit to their firm and made me proud. Maybe I dropped on a pair who were really decent, but Davies & McGrath will do well to keep hold of them. 6*s

Great service and experience throughout my home buying process. All of my questions and concerns were answered straight away which as a first time buyer, was very helpful. Zoe & Charlotte were both very polite and professional which we greatly appreciated. We managed to complete in a short amount of time so that we didn't lose our mortgage product which they factored in from the start

I did not use this solicitor, but my buyer did. Whilst my solicitor was not the best, they were fantastic comparatively.

My buyer needed to use dual representation for his mortgage. 6 weeks after the information being sent to a second solicitor, there was no update. Only on being chased by my buyer, my estate agent and my solicitor did Davies & McGrath suggest sending the information to another party. This party returned the required information in 2 days. Had Davies & McGrath had the foresight to do this sooner, the process need not have been so drawn out and fraught.

As my buyer was purchasing his first home, I would've expected his legal representative to give him guidance on how the process should work, however this appeared not to be the case. My buyer was not advised when to close his H2B ISA to retrieve his bonus, resulting in a new completion date being suggested ON the day of completion (which, incidentally, had been suggested by the buyer/his solicitor in the first place). Myself and my seller were both in a position where houses had been emptied, vans/removals hired, days off work taken... Whilst monies were exchanged and completion of my sale was finalised on the originally proposed date, the late stage in the day resulted in my seller not completing and effectively being homeless for a night.

I also know from my solicitor and my buyer that communication with this firm on the phone was virtually impossible.

What should've been an exciting time for all parties was overshadowed by the ineptitude of this firm.

From beginning to end, our process for purchase was dealt with efficiently and quickly. Kathryn was professional and outstanding at all points and brought up things for us to think about that we may not have been aware of otherwise. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable for the service we required. She always answered either by email or text within the day and if for some reason she was not available her assistant Mathieu was on hand. Would definitely recommend using DM Davies & McGrath and would use them again for other solicitors needs I may have.

Kathryn and Mathieu were amazing having used local solicitors in the past I was a bit skeptical, but I can honestly say they were better than the rest I’ve used, nothing was too much trouble. They made sure that everything was covered and that everything went smoothly. Thank you both so much and I will definitely without hesitation use this company again if ever I decide to buy or sell in the future.

Unknowingly, I was referred to Davis McGrath by Joseph and Joseph (brokers NOT solicitors - see separate review) back in June. It seems in getting Laura and Abigail, I got the short straws! My straight forward (no chain) purchase has only just completed after 4 months & my requested date was missed by 3 weeks. They are NOT mortgage panel solicitors and use another company of solicitors (who will not speak to you) to act for the lender. However, in my case, they changed their appointed solicitor mid way through the process and did not think to inform anyone! This resulted in the jeopardising the mortgage offer and it having eventually to be re-written. I spent days on hold & emailing mortgage advisor, solicitor, lender and back again, can you imagine the stress & frustration? This was despite asking Abigail (without response) several times in August & September if we were on track. I complained & was refunded a measly £100!
I have asked for this entire situation to be reviewed by the Legal Ombudsman and suggest others do similar. This is not to any acceptable standard and needs to stop! Mark.

Overall very happy with the service. Despite having a slow start while waiting to be assigned a solicitor, my case handler Laura did a fantastic job getting the transaction over the finish line, even with the tight deadlines. I would definitely recommend this firm to my family and friends.

It was quite a long process being assigned a solicitor, but once I was put in touch with Amandeep she was amazing. Every question was answered promptly and she was so helpful when we were buying our very first home. Incredibly friendly and approachable solicitors, would just like to thank Amandeep and Matthew for making the process less stressful for us both.

Used Davies and McGrath for the recent purchase of our home. Overall happy with the service and Helen was brilliant. If there is one negative I could mention, is the fact that they did not communicate with my estate agent, so I had to act as the middleman constantly. Luckily it was relatively easy to speak to Helen direct and get the updates I needed.

IF YOUR THINKING OF USING THIS FIRM, COUNT UP THE COST OF YOUR MOVE IN POUND NOTES AND CHUCK THE ENTIRE CONTENTS INTO THE SEA AS YOU WILL NEVER SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN.

Absoutley disgusting service from this company from the get go, poor communication does not answer phone calls or emails unless you raise an urgent complaint, even after this you think you may have some hope and after a couple of days it goes back to poor service again.
This company nearly lost me my house, I had to change solictors a week before my completion date as they turned round and said that my lender is not on there panel!!!! This should of been noticed at the start of the process not the end. After complaining to Steve the director he said he was to look into it and everything he looked into someone on another end was giving him all the incorrect information, I shown him proof emails he then said he was to look into it again and ring 20 mins later and I'm still waiting now for the phone call 4 weeks down the line.
One advice to anyone looking to go with this company is - DONT, unless you want to loose your house.
I will be taking this further to the ombudsman, this company needs shutting down.
