Efficient and Stress Free

We instructed Davies & McGrath (Amandeep and Matthew) to complete a ToE. The professionalism and response times were exceptional. They were always at hand to resolve any queries. The transfer matter was dealt in a timely manner and I highly recommend their services having tried and failed at two other solicitors firms. Really pleased, Thanks.

Very helpful and patient team!

I just completed the purchase of my home with the help of Davies & McGrath. I found the process of getting up and running a bit confusing at first but once I was assigned to Amandeep it became a lot simpler. Amandeep was very helpful through the process and was very patient with all of my calls, emails etc. Matthew was also extremely helpful in answering any queries that I had.

15 Months & still not done!

Handled my house purchase July 21, didn't file all relevant papers until July 22 when I was informed by a 3rd party they hadn't done everything they should.
Caused me a lot of stress & rude when complaining to them.
Have now spoken to Ombudsman about issue as they seem to be passing every buck available rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes.

Worst service ever!

Worst service ever! This firm wasted my time; I had completed the questionnaire with my lender’s details, paid an initial deposit of £150, and £250 for searches, sent in all the required documents, passed their details on to the seller’s solicitors…..and two months later I was informed that they do not work with my lender.

They have also refused to refund the payments made to them.

Run away from this company

I preferred Davies & McGrath Law for my flat purchase in Birmingham last year. The purchase has been completed in May 2021 meaning 18 months have passed. I am still waiting for the land registry. Only contact that I have is Caroline Simpson.. She does not pick up phones, do not give updates or reverts back to emails. I asked for an escalation route and she does nor provide one. I seriously started to think maybe this company was a scam, I am relieved that some people actually got results with them.
I am very desperate, I need someone to hear me out and resolve the land registry issue asap.

The entire house moving process is too…

The entire house moving process is too lengthy and stressful. After engaging the services of Davies & McGrath I was horrified at the amount of negative reviews. I am happy to provide a positive review for our Conveyancer Zoe Ellison and her assistant Charlotte Bamford who worked tirelessly to resolve all issues and responded immediately to all emails. Based on our experience we would certainly recommend their services. Based on our experience I believe it’s the process which causes the delays and not individuals.

We got there in the end!

After waiting a month for our file to be allocated to a solicitor I began reading the reviews on here and got really concerned.

However, once we were allocated to Kathryn and Mathieu I have nothing but praise for the service I have received.

There were complications on our file which became very stressful and our completion date was delayed. Kathryn and Mathieu were brilliant the whole way through. They communicated quickly and efficiently, keeping me up to date with progress and also handling my frustrations with complete professionalism.

I would definitely work with them again in the future and have no qualms in recommending them to other people.

Thank you Kathryn and Mathieu :)

Patient and helpful

We recently encountered a very difficult and complicated sale with an additionally difficult vendor and typically deplorable estate agent. Although that was an extremely stressful and trying experience Samantha was patient and helpful to us all the way through. We were extremely grateful.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! DO NOT USE! Davies & McGrath Law are utterly useless. They are impossible to get hold of; would never answer the phone and would take weeks to answer emails. Three months after hiring them, we realised that no work had been completed for our property purchase. Even though they had lied and said the surveys had been complete. At that point, we had no other choice but to change solicitors. Then we had to fight to get our deposit back. This was a very stressful experience, especially as myself and my partner were first-time buyers. Avoid this company at all costs!

WARNING: AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

DO NOT under any circumstances use this Company if you want to complete your Property Purchase!

We have been using Davies & McGrath Law for the purchase of our property, and every response takes at least 2/3 weeks to receive a response each time if you are lucky - and that's cause you have to chase daily for an update!

Even the Sellers Solicitors say they are the WORST Law Firm she has dealt with for over 30 years and that is an understatement!

Davies & McGrath Law will Quote you an "attractive" fee, but then will "add-on" fees during the process so you actually end up paying more than a "professional" Solicitor. You will initially be waiting weeks during the Onboarding process for them to allocate you an overworked and useless Solicitor!

Feel free to use Davies & McGrath Law, but don't say we didn't warn you first! Don't let the "FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS" persuade you to this company with their initial attractive fees.

Go and contact a professional Law Firm if you want your Solicitor to respond to you promptly, know what they are doing and you don't want to lose money or your property purchase/sale.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I have recently just used this firm in…

I have recently just used this firm in the beginning, I found there to be an issue with communication, and wasn't updated, which got me confused, about where I was, in the buying process, I found the checks all the time harrowing, at times, and very nearly pulled out of the sale, many times. How ever the past two months, I found the communication much better, and ended up with a good thorough job done, it turned out better, than I thought, but with due respect, people need guidance and updates at the start, to ease their sale. Worry and that's the only part and the constant request, for I'd, hard work, but in this day and age, it's better to be safer than sorry. Wendy

Painfully Slow, with Missed Commitments and Poor Communication

Dealing with Davies and McGrath Law was painfully slow. What should have taken days, took weeks and months. They don't answer the phone or reply to emails. They say one thing and do another. For example from when they finally said they were ready to exchange, it took weeks to get them to pick up the phone and actually exchange. Anne and Jackie had absolutely no sense of urgency or desire to meet their own deadlines and commitments. They seemed totally oblivious to the fact that people had to make plans for the move. They even advised the buyer exchange had occurred when it hadn't. Absolutely appalling service, AVOID AVOID AVOID

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague! Incredibly disappointed and let down by this company who continue to ignore emails and make false promises. My partner and I are first time buyers and made the mistake of choosing this company to handle our housing contract. What we know to be a simple case has taken months and is still ongoing. We have spoken to our solicitor once since she was assigned to our case in June and even then she was rude to us and asked us to “stop pestering her with calls”. Once again, very disappointing and disheartening experience and wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same.

Do not use.

Do not use.
I used Home Legal Direct and was passed through to Davies McGrath. Initial responses are very quick till payment is made. Anne Omoregie my case manager is uncontactable via the phone and does not reply to emails. They are not on Natwest Panel and 3 weeks on I'm still waiting for an answer on the 3rd party solicitor.
If you are wanting to purchase to meet a deadline DO NOT make the mistake I did in putting my faith with this company.

Don’t even bother

I have been dealing with Davies & McGrath for 3 months and I wish I would have known sooner how terrible they were. Being first time buyers we wanted to have the cheapest option available to us but I wish I would have just spent the money now knowing having this stress on my shoulders. We are due to complete by the end of the week and they just keep emailing excuses why they can’t complete the sale or why I can’t process the funds to the lender. I have had no communication from anyone, I don’t even have someone in particular dealing with my case. I do there job better than them and I’m paying them. Hopefully we will end up completing fingers crossed but I cannot wait to never see their names in my emails again. My advice is to just spend the extra money as it not worth the stress and hassle they have caused me.
