Nothing About This Experience Was Good
I've had the most frustrating time dealing with this company. I assumed because their shirts cost a bit more than other t-shirt companies that they were higher quality. I was wrong. The cotton shirts feel cheap and they are not pre-shrunk. Expect them to shrink 1-2 sizes on washing. The cotton is not soft as advertised. It feels cheap and rough. Sizing is highly inconsistent. I bought shirts for my son's birthday and they were both size large and one was 2 inches longer than the other. I exchanged them. This time I bought heather shirts. Same problem. I bought two large shirts and one was two inches longer than the other one. The shirts also had a terrible chemical smell. My son thought they stank so bad that he wouldn't wear them until we washed them. Many of the designs are not exclusive and are featured on other sites for cheaper prices with more color options. I also had a major issue with a return. I would have been more than happy to send the shirt back and I was pleasantly surprised to be told that I didn't have to. However, after being told I would receive a refund I waited the 3-10 days and the refund didn't come. I made contact again and was told I would get it this time. Waited. Still no refund. Made contact a third time. I'm starting to get worried because my card is going to be canceled in three days and I'm going to be issued a new card. Funds on the old card won't transfer. The refund doesn't come in time. But DBH insists that I have received it, even though I didn't. They won't issue the refund to another payment method. They won't issue an exchange. I am stuck with a cheap, ugly shirt that doesn't fit right. And I am so sick of dealing with their customer service. I just wanted to buy some shirts that looked great and were high quality. I didn't want all this hassle. I hate having to contact customer service. I hate having to be confrontational. It gives me anxiety. I'm shy and I don't like having to make a fuss. All of the back and forth with the company where they refuse to believe that I haven't received my refund has left me in miserable, debilitating pain today. I am really upset about this situation. I will never order anything from DBH again and strongly recommend you don't buy from them.
Update: After first seeming to improve (after which I was planning to upgrade my review here slightly) the situation became even worse. An agent finally agreed to give me an exchange for the shirt. I waited over a week for a reply after I sent in the email for the shirt I had chosen. I even provided financial documents proving that I could not have received the refund they had sent and that there was no way for me to obtain it. Around ten days later when I finally heard back a different agent told me they wouldn't give me the exchange. Once again, I explained the situation and I'm waiting to see if they reply to me. It's ridiculous for one $25 shirt. If they would have just admitted their mistakes and solved the problem I wouldn't have had to leave this review and I might have returned as a customer. I have been polite and patient throughout the entire process.
Further Update: Finally, after going back and forth for over a month, I was able to exchange the shirt, so I upgraded my review by one star. (I had to provide some financial information I didn't particularly want to share.) The whole process was exhausting. But I was able to exchange the shirt... (I sure hope I am happy with the shirt I exchanged for.)
On a side note, if you are a woman you will find they have far less selection for you in shirts, colors, and materials (not many heathered shirts for women.) It was bad enough when I wanted a Star Wars shirt for myself, but not surprising. But Frida Kahlo has more choices for men??? C'mon. Just to add insult to injury...
bad experience
I placed an order for 6 T-shirts and was expecting for it to be delivered. When I noticed it was late I checked the website and apparently my order has been canceled. So I contacted customer support but they didn't answer. It's been a week now since I contacted customer support about this, still no answer.
just a shadow of its former self
I was a big fan of dbh with multiple purchases between 2010 and 2013. after a long break i finaly ordered again in 2019 and what i got was partially so bad it is emberassing.
Some of the t-shirts i ordered were new copies of old fafourites of mine. The printed area is in general way smaller than before. The printing methode is different this time and not all shirts are printed with the same methode. 2 seem ok, but one print featuring watercolor effects was really bad. color reproduction of the motive was awfull, printing was completely lacking detail.
and i also had shipping charged even though it was supposed to be free (for somereason they split the delivery in 2 and i had to pay the second)

I got what I ordered in around 3 weeks (because of long shipping distance) which was fine, and had an amazing experience with the customer support people, who were very understanding of an issue I had, and helped me out.

Happy with my shirt
Purchased a shirt to support one of my favourite youtubers. Great price with super cheap international shopping. Shirt is comfortable cotton and on the big side, which is better than too small. Would happily use this company again.

I contacted Customer Service who basically said "tough luck". I've ordered from the USA before and never had this issue with other companies overseas.

I ordered two shirts in December 2018. They arrived in early January 2019. I just dressed them now. Very poor material quality. Thin, weak, translucent. The print also leaves a lot to be desired. I feel like it was done at home. Too low quality for such a high price. I wanted to support an independent desing company, but corporations are doing much better clothes. Unfortunately at a great cost. I do not recommend it all.
Great site for something different
Have used design by humans now quite a few times, predominantly for Neebs gaming and Star Wars themed shirts. They have a great range of artists with incredible talent. The range of items, even within clothing, provides something for everyone. When converting to AUD, as pricing is in USD, and adding international shipping it can be a little expensive, however that is not the fault of the site, just something you need to be aware of. The customer service staff are easy and friendly to deal with.

I recently got a t-shirt from DesignByHumans and was very pleased with the quality of the shirt and the design by Lenteja. The sign in the shirt reads "Express your feelings". My son loved it so much that I'm planning to get one for him as well! I absolutely love this designer and I'm planning to get also the Spinning Plates one. Kudos to DesignByHumans for having him!

After a few weeks i get my order (Shipping to Germany) i am really disappointed.
Ordered 7 shirts and 4 of them has no shining colours. The printing looks like washed out and you could see the colour of the shirt under the print.
25 Euro for each Shirt + 30 Euros Tax is to much for this quality.
Top Customer Service
The shirts are a great fit, they are not 'boxy' shaped like most high street shops and I really like the designs. Best of all though I would say is their customer service, I just contacted them with an issue that was mostly my fault for not ordering the right things, but they went above and beyond to help me. Really impressed.
Great website and quality apparel for a reasonable price
This website is fantastic for shirts that have designs that catch peoples eyes or that have designs that mean something to you. I get people all the time ask about where did I get my shirts/hoodies and I'm always happy to send them straight to Designbyhumans.com. Free shipping on any order above 75 dollars is a plus as well. I've had and worn 3 of the shirts on a regular basis and their designs haven't faded any at all (at least not noticibly) and are as vibrant as ever.
In conclusion great website; good work you straight up gangstas at DBH.
Great shirts
These guys have some truly awesome shirts, all the print (and the shirts) were great quality (ordered 7). They have live chat AND a phone number you can call. Free shipping on any order above 75 dollars. The only things i did not like were the size of the store, plenty of shirts but i would have liked some more (this will probably be resolved over time when more people notices the site). And if I added a shirt to my cart it would dissappear after a while, unlike on other sites where the website just stores them for you. I ended on creating a folder for them so not a huge deal but still a nice touch if that were changed.
All in all a great website :)
