While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

It sends you in circles, makes it difficult for you to fill in details and is impossible to proceed without it telling you you've inserted some information wrong.
Asks vague financial questions that I can't answer. Why does this app know more about my finances than I do? Then insists I install an app or spend an hour in post office queues to submit documents. POS.
Like several people below I was unable to use this as the system couldn't verify against my mobile phone contract. The contract is valid i.e. it's a fixed term contract with one of the providers that they state to be acceptable.
For "security reasons" they are unable to clarify the reason for the failure.
A hopeless waste of time, and although the customer service agent was pleasant they couldn't offer any real help.
It is very unsatisfactory that a service promoted by the UK Government is so problematic.
Also the customer support hours shown on the website are incorrect - another sign of a lack of professionalism
Apparently the Post Office online Verify service is their "sister" organisation - so don't waste your time trying that if Digidentity doesn't work for you.
It really should not be this hard. It would be a zero star rating if the that was allowed.
UPDATE: Due to the problem with this "service" I completed the process through ucheck dot co dot uk they are listed on yougov as a "responsible provider" and offer a service for an individual to compete a DBS check. It costs an extra £20 but importantly it works and took me less than 5 minutes to complete on line. I completed the online application on Sunday, and received my DBS certificate through the post today.
I hope this info will help someone else - BUT please be careful to check any company you plan to use, there is a list of responsible providers on YouGov be sure any company you plan to use is listed there!
Totally useless, just wasted an hour attempting to confirm my ID, it would appear the developers have never tested this with real users instead of what documents ‘everyone’ has, they also don’t tell you that you need a smart phone AND a tablet together when setting it up, WHY.
Why does a government department use a private outside company to prove ID’s of its citizens.
Many thanks to Lara and Sue-Jeen for their rapid help in getting my identity set up. Very professional and knowledgeable about where likely issues lay. Thanks!
SHOULD BE ZERO STARS
Absolutely useless this site it.
Just spent 2 hrs trying to register my docs and kept rejecting my mobile contract as an identity check despite the details matching the contract 100%. Think I'll go back to the good old fashioned way of signing my mortgage deed manually.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Would of given no stars if I could of totally useless and a waste of time it doesn't work and when you ask them to delete your details you get fobbed off DO NOT USE IT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Absolute waste of time.
Does not work properly in conjunction with HMRC
Endless string of pointless mobile codes which get you nowhere.
Avoid like the plague!
One day no problem then had to register now both locked ??? Aboslutr rubbish
I would give 0 stars but it is not available. This app is so bad I don't even know where to begin from, so badly designed. I set up my profile and says it is complete, but authentication does not work when I try to access gov website. I waited in the Support chat queue then explained my problem. The guy in the chat asks me to try different things which don't work, I click on the link I am provided and I get disconnected from the chat! Basically I have tried 3 times to go back and each time I get disconnected, the chat does not stay open and I have to go back in the queue and restart Problem yet not solved. Appalling.
Thank goodness I found these reviews. I thought I must be very stupid. I moved to a new phone. Forgot all about this. Over a year later, I installed Digidentity on my new phone. Of course I needed to add my email address. No problem, I know the address and password. But then ... it wants ME to tell it the 6-digit authentication code. Where is this? Not SMS, not the app, not email, ... the usual idea with two-factor authentication on a smartphone is that the app tells YOU the authentication code. And the so-called help pages are all about how great this is, how easy to use etc etc. Has anyone ever tested this??
Totally shocking wasted 6 hours trying to navigate through their web site
The app is excellent, and they offer an accessible way to get a digital signature. What’s missing is a certified timestamp when signing documents in their web portal. My signed form was not accepted by a government because of the lack of a certified timestamp. To get a proper digital signature you need an additional purchase of adobe sign for small business (the consumer version of adobe does not support cloud signing), or get a free trial. When I got this my document was finally accepted by the other party. The customer support of Digidentity did not seem to be aware of this issue, and I could not find documentation on their website about the adobe implementation either, so I had to figure it all out myself. I will still give 4 stars because it’s all working smoothly now but there is also room for improvement, especially in communication. I recommend to revamp and expand the help pages Digidentity!
This is the worst app i have ever downloaded. Send me a verifcation code - which i then copied and pasted onto the app - and was told it was the wrong code?!?! how is that even possible? all this app will give you is frustration
They must have someone lobbying for them in UK!
Why such clowns cant do a simple job?
How many times do I have to upload my driving license?
Totally waste of time - just spent an hour trying to download a selfie,
I dont know if to use it either they dont tell you what you are consenting too entirely its like face reconition all over it.but i need it to do it regardles at the end it work out ok so its really entirely your choice the customer services was awsome.
UTTER garbage! ***AVOID***
I have spent over 2 hours with this awful company. I downloaded the app and holy mother of god, how many times do they need to send you an authentication code? NUMEROUS. Why? As the other person said, by the time you’ve received it, it’s timed out. Agggghhh! You may as well ask a 5 year old to do this as this is the level of service you get here. You go round and round and round in circles. I have DELETED this app.
Do yourself a favour and take your papers to the post office for authentication.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Pants.
If you enjoy submitting endless scans of driving licences, passport photos and selfies then going round in an endless loop then this is the service for you. The software is so badly written and needlessly complicated you'll just end up getting the manual DVLA form anyway ... save yourself the headache and just do that to start with.
