Dobbies Garden Centres - SwindonReviews 

I went to Dobbies in Swindon looking for a sun catcher. They had put them in the warehouse over Christmas because they had put the Christmas decorations out. I was surprised at this because they would make lovely Christmas present which is why I was buying one. The Lady I spoke to offered to get one from the warehouse over the weekend and let me know when it was in the shop.

This review will be completely different to what you would expect as when I came on Nov 17th I never got to the pleasure of looking around as we were going in to eat in your restaurant I had an accident when I tripped on a childs high chair sticking out in the gangway and had a very heavy fall which ended up being a fractured hip,your staff with the first aider were excellent and looked after me so well until the ambulance arrived and I cannot speak highly enough about their care and service so I cannot thank your staff and company enough.Just to say that I am a 75 year old gent who will always be so grateful whenever I visit again. Thank You so much

Couldn't find a specific plant. Asked someone, who left what he was doing immediately and asked someone who knew. The answer was "Don't have it at present." That was fine (no one can carry everything) and it saved me a lot of looking - so I bought the rest of the things I wanted and went home.
Satisfied.

Unfortunately as last time our drinks came out fine but we had to wait for our toasted fruit cake for 15 minutes, consequently our drinks got cold and the food came with no cutlery? I asked for cutlery but it never came so I masked up and got up and got it myself.
Seems the staff get easily side tracked.

I only used restaurant, so do not feel it would be an overall opinion.

A friend and I went to the Dobbies cafe. we were asked to wait at the entrance to be seated, and tables were all at a distance from each other. The staff were very friendly and took our order quickly. Food good quality as usual. We took a stroll round the indoor section of the centre to look at the Christmas decorations. All set out really nicely. In all a very enjoyable visit.

The restaurant was very busy but we had friendly and quick service. There was a good range of plants and compost.

trying to ring Dobbies Swindon - impossible. I am pensioner who would have to walk. Need to see if item is in stock before making the long journey. Terrible customer services

Overall experience okay although more staff are needed on tills to minimise waiting?

The Swindon store is slightly disappointing, certainly in comparison to the Dobbies in/near Cirencester. Range of gardening related stock is limited but at the same time confused by a mish mash of other products, overpriced bland homewares, condiments and books. Personally we'd like to see more stuff outdoors as the end of the yard has been largely empty for some time, perhaps more in the way of hard landscaping, building materials and sheds. Inside, we'd definitely like to see better/more indoor plants as compared to some of the other independent stores and centres offering indoor plants (e.g. in Totnes and Bristol), the offering is pretty poor. We also wouldn't touch the cafe with a barge pole, it's like a restaurant in a nursing home. Not cool.
