will never use Drivalia again and i would advise anyone thinking of using Drivilia to choose another rental company. I booked a small car for 4 days picking up from bristol airport at 1.30pm on the 14/2/26 at a cost of £63.00 our flight was delayed by 35 minutes and by the time we reached the Drivilia office it was 2.45pm we were then informed that the car we had booked and payed for was no longer available and we would have to accept an upgraded car as there were no other cars available despite the yard being full of cars of varying sizes. we were also told that we would have to accept the higher rate of insurance for this new car. the total cost of this new rental cost £340.00. which is more than 6 times the original cost. this company needs to be seriously investigated by trading standards

Most definitely the worst car hire company I’ve ever used.
The car had high mileage for a rental car and the battery went completely flat twice due to an issue with the radio module being faulty. The premises are a good 10-15 minute hike along a main road and dual carriageway. There is no courtesy bus. Terrible if you have a lot of luggage or are travelling with children. (Fortunately I wasn’t.) The agent at Bristol airport was rude, arrogant and rather ignorant even to the point of saying “I’m not being rude but…!” The customer is never right in their eyes.
It’s worth paying the extra and using another rental company. What made it worse was the fact that I’d booked through an agent called Stressfree Car Hire!! Never again.
(I would like to add that the agent Marco was very polite and attentive and this review is not directed at him.)

Collecting the car was simple and straightforward. When we were returning the car,(also straightforward) we expected that we should have to walk to the airport, but because I have mobility issues, the depot manager drove us there. I would commend your manager for his kindness and would also recommend Drivalia as an excellent car hire company.

We arrived just under an hour late, at the Bristol airport office, to collect the car. Delay beyond our control, de icing of aircraft in Amsterdam, when no information was, given despite being already onboard. By the time we were served it was over an hour . We were told the category we had booked was no longer available, we would have to pay 250euro for an upgrade. Very unsatisfactory and unprofessional responses from the young man on the desk, almost rude.
We had no choice but to pay, we contacted Drivalia over a week ago to complain, no response.
Unethical and unacceptable behaviour.
We have never had such a negative experience when renting a vehicle.
Never again with Drivalia.

The Branch at Bristol Airport is a good 15 mins walk away from the airport..it does not have a pick up service as advertised...on the day that I tried to pick up my booked car a little late I was met by a very surly and arrogant receptionist who gave the name Ahmed
His attitude was wholly unhelpful saying the car i booked was gone and that if I want a car it will cost me an extra £245 (original was £145) as I had booked through an agent I could take it or leave it.His demeanor and attitude was the most obnoxious I have ever received from someone who is supposed to be "customer facing"...such a shame .I went to Avis and they showed the complete opposite DO NOT USE DIVILIA BRISTOL AIRPORT!!!!

Horrendous customer service avoid this company at all cost. The attitude of one particular member of staff was appalling. They were unhelpful and rude to say the least. All they had to do was change the named driver but said this couldn't be done (even though it could be) but of course for another £600 they could sort something out!! They then accused us of being rude & that they had explained everthing to us 100 times so couldnt be bothered to assist further! If that isnt being rude I dont know what is! Strange that the customer infront of us also complained about their attitude & non existent customer service only to be told they were rude when they certainly were not. The customer infront of us had arrived late to pick up his car due to his delayed flight. Only to be told he had to pay an extra £200 because they had to now give him a different car!! USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR PERIL!

**AVOID!!!** Added hidden fee after booking for early flight key drop off (£45!!). £1500 deposit held for 28 days AFTER returning car, be careful if using a debit card! On pick up, Baby sick on rear seat (had to personally clean), rude to previous customer, called them a d*ck in Italian (cazzo). Informed no shuttle available both ways, (apparently always the case)!!!. **AVOID AT ALL COST**

The car is fine. But I was pressured into buying more insurance, at £30 per day, despite telling them and showing them that I had already paid for insurance. The guy on the desk mumbled and muttered and wouldn't give up. I showed him the email confirmation I had for the insurance but he insisted I needed to upgrade. An extra £180 for a £10 daily car hire fee. Unacceptable, and I will be taking it up with my credit card company.n

Didn't get flight as planned was booked on next flight 6 hours later called to advise was going to pick up car 6 hours later. When arrived at Bristol was met with the most ignorant advisor I have encountered .Told car might not be available eventually got car and charged £120 for late pick up considering car was only £70.00 to hire total robbery only because I needed to be get to my destination paid in fairness car was fine but won't use again.

Avoid Drivalia. Rented a car for 11 days (London → Dorset → Bristol). Three days in, a front tyre blew out on the motorway. AA confirmed both front tyres were bald, showing clear lack of maintenance. Despite our rental covering this, Drivalia’s hotline was unreachable for 40+ minutes and we were left stranded late at night, forced to pay for towing and multiple Ubers.
Even after tyres were replaced, warning lights remained. When we raised safety concerns and requested a replacement vehicle, Drivalia blamed us, disputed photo evidence, questioned the AA’s credibility, and tried to charge £100 just to collect the unsafe car — plus additional relocation fees later. Communication was poor and charges kept escalating.
This was stressful, expensive, and unsafe. I cancelled my card due to lack of trust. Do not recommend — extremely poor customer service and vehicle safety standards.
