Customer service is a joke
Customer service is a joke. Reported that the green comes out lime green after 2 dyes following instructions to the fullest. Just been messed around for 2 months from their customer services after agreeing to refund me in June 22 nothing. Dozens of emails back and forth several asking for Bank and home details even tho they have everything. Such a crap service. Have been dying clothes for years using this product without a complaint. Never will again.
Not recommended
I used a navy blue machine dye which left shirts dyed patchily and spotted. Even after running a second wash and a cleaning cycle a considerable amount of dye was left in the seals and around the door. It's too unreliable to be recommended.
Avoid- customer service poor!
Used Dylon machine wash sandy beige on white overalls and they were covered in blue & pink spots. Filled out complaint form to Dylon - there solution buy their dye remover then another 2 packs of dye! The item weighed between the guidelines on the pack so i am extremely unhappy with both their response and the product! AVOID! I had followed all the instructions on the box so feel they should have taken responsibility for clearly a faulty product.
RUINED ALL MY CLOTHES
Used sandy beige and espresso brown, some came out ok but most of my clothes are ruined by blue/pinkish spots and patchy. I am very disappointed do not buy
Used Dylon INTENSE BLACK on a dark…
Used Dylon INTENSE BLACK on a dark blue, unworn jacket. Followed the instructions to the letter. A complete waste of time, effort, money and water. Jacket unwearable as colour very uneven. What galls me even more is that Dylon Customer Services didn't have the decency to answer my complaint (which was backed up with photographs)!
Avoid this product and avoid disappointment and unnecessary expense and time wasting!!!
Tried twice (my first mistake) as looks…
Tried twice (my first mistake) as looks 100% identical to when it went in both times.....not a HINT of the coiour, i mean white to dark green, surely if instructions are followed to the letter TWICE there would be a 0.2% hint of green🤣🤣 , just an expensive version of DAZ..Good business though guys.....does absolutelyNOTHING it says on the tin and we've paid you for it. 🙈
Negative Consequence of Using This Product
Used Dylon beige on a pair of light coloured linen curtains to revive colour. Was appalled that after following instructions for machine wash, both curtains came out with blue spots/splodges all over. Have contacted Dylon customer services and was told that my easy care setting on my machine may not have "agitated" the fabric enough! I feel this product is not fit for purpose, has ruined a pair of curtains and was not offered any financial recompense. BEWARE OF THE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES OF USING THIS PRODUCT!
White jeans ruined with dylon dye
Used violet dylon dye on white jeans and top. Both are ruined. I followed the instructions to the letter but items patchy violet with blue spots.
Dissatisfied customer
After following the instructions to the letter, I have recently dyed a pair of jeans black and was happy with the results. However, I then used half a roll of kitchen paper and nearly a full pack of kitchen wipes to clean the rubber seal and glass door. Several dark loads later, I was shocked to discover black marks on an orange towel, so I then did a bleach wash and a washing machine cleaner product through my machine, followed by several more dark loads. I then decided it would be safe to do a white load but was horrified to see black marks over two new white shirts and several other items. I then rang Dylon to complain and got told to fill in a complaints form that was sent to me. The form itself is totally irrelevant to my complaint so I rang again. I was told I had to fill it all in if I wanted them to solve the problem. Questions on said form included photographic evidence of clothes labels, age, make and model of washing machine, and basically every imaginable fact known to man. It is therefore in my opinion this is purely done so people don't bother, thus saving Dylon the need to pay any form of compensation. I am at least £50 out of pocket, not to mention the extra electricity used and the stress this has caused. Also, I have two dye pods costing me £7 each that I dare not use.
Dylon Intense Black
I bought a pair of Armani jeans cheap from eBay that were a faded grey. Popped them in the washing machine with a Dylon pod and hey presto a pair of lovely black designer jeans at a fraction of the price. Very pleased and no problems with washing machine afterwards.
Wife not happy with me. Avoid!
Bought the Intense Black to refresh my work trousers. It dyed them, but despite me following instructions it then left black speckles all over the white wash that was done several washes later. I had thoroughly cleaned the drum and seal and so had my wife. My wife is not very happy with me as I have ruined one of her white shirts and a pair of her favourite trousers. Avoid this product, I won't be using it again and I'm dreading doing another white wash. I'll just buy new trousers next time!
To be avoided at all cost - a wast of time
I bought a Dylon Pod in Dusty Violet to dye new life into some dingy hand towels. I followed the instructions to the letter to ensure I got the results promised on the package. To no avail - the towels came out of the process marbled dark and light mauve with unsightly dark blue spots scattered all over them. Now, I do not even understand how dark blue appeared as it had nothing to do with the colour used. The towels were 100% cotton and washed, so wet, as required and they were already used and washed multiple times so there was no 'treatment' in them that could have 'reacted' with the dye. All I can say is that this dye is to be avoided: it is an utter waste of time, energy and resources. I am disgruntled and disappointed and I will never use this again.
Hand dyes are overall good, but can leave speckly marks
I've never used the washing machine dyes but I've used the hand dyes by dyeing clothes in a bucket outside. The vibrant orange and goldfish orange dyes are amazing. Worked a treat. The brown one left one of my tops all speckled despite me agitating the garment in the dye frequently.
What I will say is that you MUST move the garments around in the hand dyes frequently or the dyes will settle and leave unsightly speckle marks or dye unevenly.
Overall, I'd recommend dylon.
This is a pointless product doesn't do…
This is a pointless product doesn't do a thing but waste your time and money and electricity . Had to put my machine on several times to get rid of dye. The cotton covers stayed original colour. Don't use it.....
Avoid!
Avoid! Wish I'd seen all the negative reviews before using Dylon machine dye to dye 2 brand new white 100% cotton fitted sheets grey. Followed instructions to the letter and they came out ruined covered in patches of blue specks. Emailed the company 3 times and had no acknowledgement or response. Now out of pocket for dye and new sheets I'll now need to buy.
Dylan dye has wrecked my new machine and dyed my white duvet with black spots!! AVOID
Using this dye in my washing machine has wrecked it. Do not use this product at all! It’s completely ruined my washing machine. The seal has gone black and all of the dye has stuck to the inside of the seal. This is despite following the instructions to the letter and literally scrubbing with bleach and my seal is ruined. Not only is my seal ruined, I now don’t trust using my washing machine which is literally two months old to wash my other clothes! Also I have black dye all over my new white bedding from another wash after I had run empty bleach wash solutions cycles after using the die. I have mailed Dylon this evening and await response but if you look hard enough you will find plenty of negative remarks exactly the same as mine about exactly the same situation. There is a Facebook post about how it is completely ruined peoples washing machines. Avoid avoid avoid at all costs!
RUBBISH DOES NOT WORK
Avoid this complaint and product doesn't work tried to dye a white dress navy now i
ts light grey and their customer services couldn't care less...
One star is too generous
One star is too generous. Having followed the instructions meticulously, Im horrified to find that three days, and multiple washes later, the dye is STILL bleeding into the laundry and today I have miscoloured two loads of white and light laundry.
Very disappointed and have lost total faith in Dylon.
I had used Dylon washing machine dyes in the past but never these issues.
Be warned; at your own peril!
I will never use this again.
Shocking.
STAY AWAY from Dylon washing machine…
STAY AWAY from Dylon washing machine fabric dye! To my peril the dyeing process has cost me the loss of a beautiful cotton rug plus £14 on dye pods.
I've had my white cotton rug for some years and washed it in my Bosch washing machine. The end result was always excellent but to my peril I decided to dye it Olive green to suit my decor.
Having read the instructions I followed all procedures meticulously. Imagine my shock and disappointment when my rug was removed from the machine. I could have cried...it was completely ruined...green and black patches all over it. I would have understood had I neglected to follow the guidance. I feel cheated and robbed of my rug. I am now preparing to dispose of it. I wish I had read the Trustpilot reviews prior to embarking on this fiasco. So buyer beware! To add insult to injury I'm now reading similar reviews from other customers. It would appear that Dylon Customer Service support in this respect is negligible. My advice is: Don't buy it.
Waste of money
Waste of money! I followed the instructions and popped items into machine and they didn't come out the colour of pot, what an absolute waste of £10! This company are ripping people off with a product that does not do what it says!
