Awful service. Claims and complaints are dealt with in such a way that I have spent literally hours on the phone on hold and sending numerous emails, none of which get answered. If you have bett... See more

worst company ever!!!!!
worst company to ever get in contact with! i have had nothing but trouble with them. was only with them for a couple of months and decided to cancel, they didnt take the payment when they said they would and 2 months later i get a letter with charges on it.... PFFT!!! they say 75 quid on the terms and conditions, my letter has over a 100 quid charge on it!!!
Honestly who do they think they are!! will never go back with them and id certainly advise anyone not to go with them!!!!!!!!!!!!
Utterly Appalling, but..... I HAVE THEIR LANDLINE!
My experience with this company as been among the same as above. I did however manage to find their geoprahical number which avoids the awful premium rate number.: [NR REMOVED]. All I can say is good luck, they are a nightmare and hopefully will be closed down soon. I recommend complaining to Financial Ombusman ASAP. [LINK REMOVED]
(Should be zero stars).
We are currently looking into cancelling, could someone by any chance let me know of what exactly what they charged in order to cancel aside from the £75 fee?
Good luck!
Avoid this company
Avoid this company. Their website isn't the easiest to use. When you do get a quote it is reasonable but when you take out the insurance they increase the premium. They reply to e-mails but do not answer the queries. It is not possible to contact them direct unless using their premium rate line at £1 per minute. I made a claim and they then blocked my access to my account online so I am unable to see my policy or make changes to it or receive new quotes should I wish to change my car. I won't be accepting my renewal. Time to move on.
Ripped me off for my 1st years no claims bonus.
This was my 1st policy and it was with e-car and half way through my policy i had a small accident where i got driven into the back of. So all being well i reported and and make no claim and also turned down the chance to claim whiplash as i didnt want it to effect my premium. anyway the other party involved left me a false name and number ecar sia dok we will send you out a accident report form. never received. anyway i changed over cars on my policy and i got the new paperwok through, was all fine accident was down as not my fault no claim made! months later i get me renwal certicate through with NO NCD and the accident has now gone down as MY FAULT when told on the phone it was not going to afect my NCD. Now sent the a total of 7 emails so far and no respone still. i will be taking legal action and contacting the ombudsman until this matter is settled STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM ECAR AS POSSIBLE THEY ARE DAYLIGHT ROBBERS! ALSO HALFWAY THROUGH MY POLICY I WAS 1 DAY LATE WITH A PAYMENT SO THEY EMAIL ME SAYING WE WANT THE REST OF THE PREMIUM IN TOTAL WITHIN 48 HOURS OR YOU POLICY WILL BE CANCELLED! TOTAL ROBBERS
zero stars
I agree this company should be featured on rogue traders. They are absolute rubbish and robbers and all comments I agree with..The sooner I get rid of them the better. Total rip off.
Get legal advice for these highwaymen!
This company tried to mug me for a £255 deposit too. After reading the dreadful reviews from so many other people I decided to cancel my policy within the legal time limit of 14 days. I emailed them and sent a letter cancelling by special delivery. No documentation was ever sent out by them . I believe this is intentional to get you past the cooling off period and steal your deposit. I was charged for a weeks cover.... £75 cancellation fee, £35 direct debit, £115 commission, £6.90 insurance premium tax,,10p legal expenses time on risk, £178 time on risk.
I got legal advice from a well known consumer magazine ?to whom I subscribe to and spoke to a solicitor in consumer law.
Fired off an email to customer complaints at ecar stating that I did not accept their decision to charge me , and if they did not refund me within 14 days I would be asking for a 'letter of deadlock ' and would be referring the matter to the Financial Obudsman immediately
I got an email back promptly telling me they stood by their charges but as a gesture of goodwill would refund me £209.00
Its worth checking up the Financial Services (Distance Marketing ) Regulations Act 2004 (regulation 13)and mentioning that to them as well, as as refunds need to be made within 30 days of any cancellation. They were well past that in my case as politely pointed out . Good luck to anyone who has the misfortune to have to deal with these shysters, I hope they are shut down as soon as possible.
What a Load Of Rubbish Better Cover From toilet Roll
Took out a policy with these idiots then they asked for copies of my licence and proof of no claims which were sent by recorded delivery which i know had arrived and they were adamant they hadnt when they had signed for it. So then they threaten to cancel the policy if i dont comply so i cancelled the policy any way as there is just no speaking to some people three weeks later they send back my proof of no claims that never arrived stamped three days after the policy started and clearly dated with that what a load of conning b"""""Ds and its been two monthsand still no refund even though its £75 light for there cancelation fee and cost about £100 talking to a spotty moron that doesnt know what insurance is. if anyone wants a hand torching the offices give me a shout and if you want to save money on car insurance buy the more expensive policy through a bigger compay and save the phone bill is my advice
scam
biggest scam with there finance partners i have managed to reverse back 1 direct debit emailed them call them no response at all
Doubled price
After 5 years with no problem with company, no claims have been made, my insurance had risen from £470 last year to £900 this year!!! I can't belive it!! Good bye ecarinsurance!
But I must admit at least I get reasonable quick answers from their help desk via email.
Zero stars if i could!
Zero...terrible!!! It feels to me they are a complete con! I have tried sending NCD and proof of licences through three times now and they still cant seem to receive it! No other reputable company deals with their customers like this! In all fairness why bother asking in the first place for your old insurance and policy number so they can check all this out with that information if they arent going to do anything with it? They only ask for driving licence proof in first letter....then you get told you havent provided NCD when they never even ask for it in the letter! Then they ask for photocopy of licence and front and rear of photocard... which is done ...and then they ask for the rear of your paper part.. why not be clear in the first place??!! everything you send apparently never arrives or comes through their fax properly...stay well clear!
Beware Ecar Insurance
Due to this company using identical sharp practices on its consumers, luring them in on comparison sites, and then seemingly going out of their way to try to avoid covering after the policy is purchased, this is bordering on a scam and false selling.I suspect that this is affiliate marketing in disguise with the cancellations fees being the amount of commission on each policy sold eg they are selling policies purely to gain a fee knowing that a percentage of policies sold will not be underwritten. When they cancel the policy they are securing their commission bonus. They are not in the business of selling insurance, but purely in the business of making commission on sales.
Complain to watchdog
Please go to bbc watchdog website and complain about them. If we get enough complaints they should feature this rogue company. I took a car insurance, 3rd party fire and theft, policy out with asdaonlineexclusive, who also gio under the name of ecar insurance costing £529. Unknowing I didnt know I was allowed to use a no claims bonus on two policies. I was willing to cancel my other policy to use on this one. Asda said they couldnt accept it and that i would have to pay an additional premium of £795 on top of the £529 i had already payed. I only had the policy for 5 weeks and had no choice but to cancel. they have charged me a £75 cancellation fee PLUS a ridiculous '20 % non-disclosure fee' of £225!! Out of £529 they are charging me over £300 in cancellation fees for a policy ive had for only 5 weeks.
I have written to the financial ombudsman and the FSA about this. YOU SHOULD ALL TOO. WE CANT LET THESE ROGUES GET AWAY WITH THIS...
Ecar Will bend you over!
In short :I bought car insurance online from ecar for both me and my partner.
At 1.20 on that same day we were pulled over and told we were not insured. I explained we had just got it but the PO said it didnt start until the following day.
We were dumped out at the side of the road, dispite me being 7 months pregnant with severe spd, 2 other children and my partner, who was driving because I felt sick. They towed the car (costing £200 +) The PO was also intending to prosecute me as I "knew" the driver was uninsured.
On checking the pages I had at home, it didnt make sense.I still had the payment page that stated the insurance started at 12.45 that day.
I contacted ecar via calls @£1 per min and via email.
At first they said it was my error but after checking with their programmers, they apologised and gave us a letter of indemninty but only in my name.
I asked them for coverage for my partner as he was driving but was told this would suffice.
I was sent an email saying I had a month to return the policy for a refund but I knew, from reading the contract that I only had 14days or I would loose everything. I returned the policy and got stung for a £75 surcharge. Many others have lost thousands.
Court date came round and although the letter was accepted at the station, it was refused in court. They wanted the document which we had to send back!
As my partner had his licence revoked in 2006 but didnt know, he recieved 6 points on his licence and 610 fine for no insurance, 2 and a surcharge..debt collectors have now added £75 and are threatening MY property which my partner moved into.
He is refusing to pay the fine as he does not see this as being fair.
Its cost us alot so far just to save £100
Rip off
zero stars, I am due a refund since January 2011 but they are 'still dealing with it'.
ECar,Asdaonlineexclusive, evan, ebike, ehome ....one ethief with different names!!!
My story is no different to those unfortunate one who were robbed legally and helplessly left out of pocket by Ecar Insurance company. I have seen a pile of negative reviews over the internet, people consoling and giving tips on how to get ur money back but no one is genuinely stepping forward to take this matter to higher ups and at least record his protest and stop this company from stealing money any further. I am in process of writing a complaint letter to Financial Ombudsman Service and Financial Service Authority and will try to fight my case until any solid action will be undertaken by FSA. In light of this, I am asking you to please help me give your full name, Ecar or ASDA-Exclusive policy no. and Email address with brief description of dispute so that I can emphasise the severity of this matter and also potentially file an e-petition on Govt. website.
Thanks Hussain (hussainabeel@gmail.com)
Zero Rating
I am told in a letter that I requested to have my policy cancelled, no such thing happened. I have paid about £500.00 with in 3 weeks. I received an Email after I said I can not provide any 'No Claims Discount' the reply in the Email confirmed that my 'No Claims Discount' has been reduced to '0 Years'. Now sitting with my insurance cancelled I am getting no reply back to any of my Emails to all departments I am contacting, even their so called 'Contact Form'
S Khan
cancellation fees
Took out ecar insurance but when I recieved the paperwork I decided it wasnt suitable . They have a 14 day cooling off period so I cancelled well within that time limit and they charged me £75.00 . Complained to ecar and their response was tough its in the contract . What a great way to make free money . I will not let this go and will complain to the FSA . The cooling off period only made me hot under the collar .
VERY POOR COMPANY TO DEAL WITH
They came out reasonably cheap on money suprrmarket but as soon as they have your money you start getting demands for proof of NO CLAIMS DISCOUNT or we will cancel policy sent them twice still they say we have not recieved.Unable to talk with them £1 min phone calls.emails only so far 8 differnt names on emails.Have now Cancelled policy myself doubt ill get any money as they want to charge £75 admin My advice pay a bit more STAY WELL CLEAR
Took Insurance Money TWICE!!
The took the premium out of my a/c twice and then refused to return it. They say they have only taken it once but my bank statement clearly shows twice. I have forwarded the bank statement to them but it doesn't look hopeful that I will get it back.
Won't use again!!
Crooks!
Please do not use this company they cancelled my insurance, with no good reason. I will be reporting them to trading standards, i have already written to watchdog and i suggest everyone who has had a bad experience does the same
