Worth every step taken to experience Europe!!

My daughter had an amazing time on her trip!

This was a great experience. Amsterdam was beautiful and the added canal cruise was worth the extra excusion fee. The square in Brussels was one of the most beautiful city squares I have seen. Paris was busy with the hustle and bustle of getting ready for the Olpymics and everyone enjoyed the excusion to Versailles. London is one of my favorite places. We oped for the Westminister Abbey rather than the Windsor castle and I would stand by that decsion a-hundred-times over if given the chance to see only ONE big thing in London. I give this tour a 4-star rating simply because of the food options provided. With the exception of a day in Amsterdam and one day in London it seemed as though we were on the go and it was road-side stops for lunch rather than a sit down meal during free time like I've had on many past tours. I realize that transportation days are the cause for this but I think it should be more clearly outlined in the itineary so travelers are aware if it will be more of a road-side stop or if their free time will allow for them to seek out their own meals. We were also served burgers 2 nights and had a "meat" bourguignon on 2 other separate nights (beef one night and pork another night). This tour provided for my least favorite meal options of the 8 tours I have done with EF.

My daughter absolutely loved her trip. She can't wait to go back again!

The right amount of time in each country. I believe they would have liked to stay at the Louvre longer but understood why they couldn't. Tour guides were good

In addition to my daughter, my son and I also went on this trip. First, I would like to say that our tour leader was great. There were things out of his control that were disappointing, so I don't want to fault him. However, I do have some criticisms of this trip and suggestions for future trips. We spent a lot of money for this trip to be disappointed: 1. The European Quartet is not a good trip in the time we had. I think if you only have 9 days (2 of which are travel days), EF should focus on 2 cities/countries rather than four. It was too much in that time frame and made things too hectic. While it was a highlight tour, several highlights were left out (Eiffle Tower, the Louvre, Tower of London, etc. etc.). This trip should automatically just add the extra day in Paris and London. 2. The hotels were too far away. It cut down on our time in the city. I would rather stay closer to the city with fewer amenities and access to the metro or underground, shops, etc. It seemed like time wasted. 3. Use the public transportation more. We spent more time in traffic because of the bus, that we could have spent in museums or seeing other sites that were not on our list. 4. Brussels was a waste of time. I think skipping that would have given us more time either in Amsterdam or Paris. Take a train from Amsterdam to Paris instead of bus. It was too touristy. OR Making the tour about 2 countries (Netherlands and Belgium) would have benefitted everyone and would have gotten us out of the city. 5. AMSTERDAM: I think the Rijksmuseum and a canal tour would be a much better "excursion" than the one offered. I chose not to go to the village and went on my own with a group on a canal tour. The people that went on the village excursion were disappointed and would have rather done the Canal Tour as well. Also, the cheese and wooden shoe making demonstration was fun but a bit of a waste of time. Perhaps if we had had an extra day this would have been an added treat, but this time could have been better spent having a local walking tour guide in Amsterdam. The first day we were set off on a scavenger hunt. Unfortunately, most of us did not have cell or internet service to map out our route using the QRL codes. A good old fashion paper map would have been nice to have to navigate. We did not complete the scavenger hunt. We had fun but it was not very informative. Perhaps breaking into groups, hiring local guides to give us a walking tour would be nice at this point too. 6. More walking tours, less bus time (especially in London and Paris). 7. Anne Franke House was amazing. A definite must see for anyone going to Amsterdam. 8. No Eiffle Tower and no Louvre - extremely disappointing (this alone is a 1 star rating) 9. Versailles and Windsor - amazing excursions!! Highly recommend. 10. Step on guides in London and Paris were the best! 11. Food was just ok. The first restaurant gave us a choice which was nice for the group, although I was disappointed it was asian food I could have gotten in the states. I would have liked more authentic food options. Some were hits and some were misses, as expected. And rushed. I would have rather skipped dinner to do more sightseeing and get a grab and go sandwich instead. 12. Overall the trip was good, and the students had fun. For the money we spent and the expectations we had when we decided to go on the trip, many of us are disappointed at what was left out (mainly in Paris and London). EF should have known that the Louvre had changed their group tour policy (we only learned about this the week before we left) and the Eiffel Tower should be a must see for every group. If you are looking to do this trip, add the extra days for Paris and London or see if you can customize the trip in a way that meets most participants expectations.

It was amazing. Wish it has been longer.

Don't believe everything they tell you about these trips. It's a scam.

My daughter & I went on a 9 day European Quartet with her school. We had 34 travelers which allowed us 5 paid chaperones. I was not a chaperone, although I work at the school. For the first 5 days, I ended up chaperoning 6 of the students because they were not being chaperoned by the paid chaperones. The paid chaperones used this tour as a vacation. This was stressful & put a damper on my vacation that I paid for with my daughter & myself. One of our teacher chaperones canceled right before departure so another chaperone brought his brother that did not live in our state nor have any association with our school. He was very inappropriate with several of of female students & made them feel uncomfortable. He, also, flirted with several of the married moms that were there on vacation with their children. I know I had a background check months ago. Since he joined at the last minute, I have my doubts he had the required background check. I feel like I paid for a tour that I did not fully receive because of these issues. Since I work at the school, it will be hard for me to recommend EF Tours to students & parents.

We deeply regret that your experience on the European Quartet trip was marred by these incidents involving the chaperones. We take these matters very seriously and will investigate them thoroughly. The behavior you described is completely unacceptable and goes against our standards and expectations for anyone traveling with us. Please know we do have standards for our travelers, but the school determines the expectations for chaperone responsibilties while on tour. However, we are committed to providing safe and enriching experiences for our travelers and we will follow up with the Group Leader regarding your concerns. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

I just wrote about my experience in the last review.

Would have liked more opportunities to experience local food rather than eating American food most of the time. Would have liked opportunities to visit shops to buy gifts that weren’t in the expensive tourist areas. Staying in hotels within the city would’ve been great to experience the culture, more, rather than being further away.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We appreciate your feedback and understand your desire to have more authentic local experiences during the tour.

Our goal is to provide a balance between local cuisine and familiar dishes to cater to different tastes, but we understand that experiencing
the local food is an essential part of the travel experience. We will take your feedback into account and explore ways to offer more opportunities for travelers to enjoy authentic local cuisine during our tours.

As for hotel locations, we aim to strike a balance between convenience and cost to provide affordable travel experiences for our customers. Staying within the city center may be ideal for some, but it can also significantly impact the overall cost of the tour. We will, however, reevaluate our hotel selections and explore options to offer more accommodations closer to the city centers while keeping the tour costs reasonable.

Your feedback is essential to us, and we appreciate your insights as it helps us make improvements and provide more rewarding experiences for our travelers. We hope that you'll consider joining us on another tour in the future, and we'll do our best to address your concerns and offer an even more enjoyable journey.
