I ordered a phone online and paid for…

I ordered a phone online and paid for it. They sent me a sim card. Online chat seems to involve telling at least 3 people in India what the problem is however they end up telling you to call customer service. This is more foboffery and frustration.
Apparently the people in sales are too delicate to take a call so you have to ring and give your details to someone so that they can email them to someone in sales and they "will call you back". Of course they don't call anyone being delicate. The first time I rang the "customer service representative" noted I hadn't got the phone, then hung up without asking for my name number or any details. Unlikely to get a follow up call from them.
I rang again this morning and was told I might get a reply by Wednesday.
Pathetic useless service. I see they are advertising a new bare bones service as if the current service wasn't badly eroded bones anyway.
I hate them.

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service. The way they speak to customers is quite frankly appalling. I tried to cancel my contract and they hung up the phone.. Do not use this company. Sky are far easier to deal with.

If I could go less than 1 Star.... God Awful!

If I could go less than 1 Star I would!... 1 month and no broadband cuts through the day.. our home phone number, which is a business phone has been changed and basically not working (very loud static on the line) for a month now.. so we lost out on a months worth of business.. they don’t care! They hung up on us.. a manager refused to speak to us.. lying about “calling back” and constantly telling us “someone will be out to fix you up on X day” no one shows... 1 month and counting.. hour+ long calls daily.. I can’t give a worse review than this! Shocking awful disrespectful unprofessional... the list goes on!

I cannot believe how bad these guys…

I cannot believe how bad these guys are. We changed over from puretelecom to eir a month ago.THe changeover was extremely stressful for my 82 year old mother. They effectively cut her off from her landline and internet for 1 month due to their lack of communication and stupidity. Yet the bills kept coming. When u ring they seem to have a gatekeeper that you have to pass data protection with who then passes you on to another person in Sligo , cork and other places who you then have to repeat yourself all over again. They do not read their own notes. You cannot be put through to a specific person and often they will tell you the supervisor is in a meeting and not available.Ive had a month of calling with the average call length of 40 minutes each time
Here is the most frustrating thing NOONE IS ACCOUNTIBLE THERE. We sent in complaint emails but they just go into the ether. No one reply’s. I’ve gone to region to try and get them to be accountible for the stress they’ve put us under but I’m not hopeful. Anyone have any other ideas. ?

Eircom refusing to close account

Had no issues until calling to close my account mid-August, as I was moving apartment. Since then, they have refused to recognise two bank payments (one made before giving notice to close the account, and a second made after that date). I’m now told that they cannot close the account, as they consider me to be arrears (incorrect, as I have paid them all monies owed in those two payments that they now cannot seem to recognise or find).

So, basically Eircom are refusing to let me close this account, despite my having given notice, despite my having paid all monies owed, and are holding the account open and continuing to send me rental charges on it...

Absolutely terrible for over 2 months

Absolutely terrible for over 2 months, no help from tech support except to say "reset modem", done, still no better, another tech support, "turn modem off for 1 hour & 1 min" done, no difference! I will be lucky if I can post this actually! Internet off & on constantly! Weekend was an abomination! As a long time customer, over 20 years, this is the 1st time I have considered changing to another company, any recommendations will be welcome.

Shocking and shameful!!

Shocking and shameful!!

Last October I paid the full €269 annual subscription for the eir sports package which included 2x eir sports channels, 4x BT sports channels and Box Nations.
Realizing the 4x BT sports channels were not visible anymore, I called the customer service for some explanations and the answer was:
“It is written in the T&Cs that eir can change their offering at anytime “
Not even a sorry or a communication to the customers to advise them of the changes and worse they refused to refund me the remaining of my subscription.

I strongly feel misled by eir when I purchased the package.

If you are unfortunate enough to…

If you are unfortunate enough to require the assistance of the customer scare team, do yourself a favour and keep a detailed record of who you spoke to, what team/dept they belong to, when you spoke to them and what was said. Rinse/repeat and strap in for the long haul.

I have no doubt that some staff there are competent and want to help but the structure, systems, processes and miscommunication that exists within Eir makes that absolutely impossible.

Inextricably inept organisation - if you have no issues then you will be fine but the moment you require assistance or need to cancel or amend, that's when the fun begins...and by fun I mean blood-boiling frustration.

Minus five stars (if I could)...

Minus five stars (if I could)...Eir has the most terrible customer service that I have ever experienced over my lifetime and I am not young! You have a minimum waiting time on hold of 30+mins then when you do get to speak to someone they do not have a clue how to resolve any issues. As someone else on this review board said "you just keep getting transferred from one department to another then back again". I blame those at top management as they clearly do not care about their customers and this translates down to the staff. I have spoke to at least 5 agents about incorrect billing and failure by Eir to fulfil the contract I took out with them FIVE months ago and guess what? my latest bill IS STILL WRONG.. My advice to all is to avoid at all costs this poor excuse for a company. There are too many other options available where your custom might be valued.

Can I give less than 1 star?

Can I give less than 1 star?

Awful unreliable broadband, highly variable speeds, often no service at all. If you need to call them allow at least an hour for holding on the line. Staff rarely able to help 'I'll pass you to the department that does that' who promptly pass you back into the queue again.

Would recommend anyone to avoid Eir

ABYSMAL SERVICE

I was enticed to their mobile service through the football advertisements at the end of July. Only the sales team omitted to tell me that half of those perks would be gone within the following 2 weeks. Nothing on the advertisements or emails either. Then came the issue of trying to cancel. My first call sounded reassuring, yes, I was cancelled, he stated. Only to find out i wasn’t and had conveniently gone into another billing cycle. Despite only using the service for less than a month, I would be paying for 2.
To undo all that mess required at least 3 online chats, calls that left me on hold for over an hour and then would disconnect and repeating my requests, security info and details to each department I was transferred to (and there were 3 on just one call) neither of which knew I had been transferred from the department before. No apologies, no option to be called back. This company is a disgrace. If you are even remotely interested in switching to them, I’d seriously reconsider. I’d sooner pay double for my service than ever go near eir again. Be warned.

Appalling service

Appalling service - trying to leave their mobile service and switch to new provider, hours on chats (7 people - not fit for purpose) 4 calls to tech support (don’t know meaning of the word) and a call to their store in Swords, where, wait for it!! They have no service 😂 staff have to walk up and down outside the store. Issue is it’s my 78 year old Dads phone and no service currently. 20 minutes and counting on hold for their tech support again. Don’t go near them. I am printing off the ‘chats’ to send to their CEO but likely as not, she will not respond. They obviously don’t count customers leaving!!

Originally signed up to Setanta Sports…

Originally signed up to Setanta Sports years ago and was eventually taken over by Eir. They recently lost the rights to BT Sport in Ireland, which was the only reason I signed up i.e. to watch football.
I turned the game on Sunday only to be greeted with a message saying the channel was not part of my subscription.
I did some investigating and discovered that Sky now have the rights to show BT Sport in Ireland. Eir no longer do but I received no communication from them advising of this...but they were still happy to take my money.
After many tries to cancel by phone...just left waiting with no indication of wait time or position in the queue, I tried the webchat. This was pointless as they couldn't do anything and told me I needed to call again.
So I tried again today, finally speaking to somebody after 15min on hold. Said I wanted to cancel and explained the reason (loss of content). They offered me a reduction of 50% for 6-months to stay. No thanks, I just want to cancel. Then she tried to get to sign up their broadband so I could keep the Eir Sports channels for "free". No thanks, I just want to cancel. Finally, she accepted and said my service has been cancelled. Only time will tell I guess.
