Annual AC Maintenance

The technician, David NGALLE, was very thorough and explained all he did and the results of his inspection. As all was passed, I am very happy to know that I'm good for another year. Thank you David.

Great service.

Our A/C would not start, on the thermostat I got a message to “call for service”. I went online and booked an appointment. The service technician came at the appointed time. He diagnosed our problem and in a mindful way proceeded to carry out repairs. He completed his work in a very efficient manner up and down the basement stairs and around the outside of the house to the unit. All the time in the 34C heat. I would give Enercare and especially the technician 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Very well done young man.

Enercare is the worst company ever!

I don’t know how they are still in business with how the customer service fails to fix billing issues. Supervisors never call you back.constant billing issues, furnace rebates never come. Victoria Tan is customer service officer. Try to call her…….. crickets. This company is fantastic at shielding themselves from the public. If I could get out of the rental trap I was mislead into I would. This leadership team is brutal! They have no idea what is happening to customers.

I have contacted Enercare several times…

I have contacted Enercare several times and requested they stop sending me emails to receive different times of service. I have a water heater with them that I obtained the contract when I purchase our house. Every day I receive emails for their products - furance, air conditions, etc.

Jose serviced the A/C and furnace again…

Jose serviced the A/C and furnace again this year. It is so nice to know that the equipment is working well. Jose has serviced the equipment since it was installed 9 years ago. The equipment pictures are helpful. He leaves the place clean and tidy and offers helpful suggestions as well as answering any questions. Thank you, Jose. See you next year.

Zero Accountability, Ghost Technicians, and Shocking Staff Manipulation

I am writing this to expose a complete lack of integrity, manipulated service records, and appalling customer mistreatment by Enercare.

I booked three separate annual maintenance appointments (AC, Furnace, and Plumbing) for June 29, June 30, and July 1, 2026, all scheduled within the 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM window.

The Timeline of Deception:

June 29: No one showed up. No call, no show.

June 30 (Today): At 1:00 PM, I called Enercare to check the status. A representative named Christopher shockingly informed me that, according to their records, a technician had already arrived and COMPLETED the work for June 29. This was a blatant lie and a clear manipulation of their internal data to cover a missed appointment.

When I disputed this falsified record, Christopher put me on hold, dodged my questions, and refused to acknowledge the truth. When I requested to escalate the issue, he deliberately stalled, forced me to wait on hold for 50 minutes, and then abruptly hung up on me.

The "Quiet" Cover-Up: While I was dealing with this chaos, a technician quietly showed up at my house (on June 30) and rushed through both services in less than an hour, clearly trying to quickly align reality with their manipulated records.

Management Defending Misconduct: After fighting to speak with a supervisor, I was connected to a manager named Layti. Instead of investigating the blatant manipulation of service records or Christopher’s unacceptable behavior, Layti fully defended her staff. It is clear that apologizing for employee wrongdoing or dishonest practices is entirely against their company culture.

Enercare is completely mistreating its customers. Falsifying and manipulating service records is an egregious breach of trust, and the defensive, deceptive behavior from both frontline staff and management is completely unacceptable. Avoid this company

0 Star - Don't work with them

If there were an option to give 0 stars, I would choose it.

I had a furnace protection plan with Enercare for seven years, paying $17.99 + tax per month. Now that I want to cancel the plan, I've been told I have to pay $45.60 for the current month, plus five additional payments of $20.33 through November 2026.

This has been a very disappointing experience. It feels like the focus is on maximizing revenue rather than providing fair service and treating long-term customers with respect. After seven years as a paying customer, I expected a much more reasonable cancellation process.

Avoid Enercare at all cost

Avoid Enercare at all cost! Had a rental hot water heater installed almost 3 months ago. Have no hot water. Installed wrong initially, after multiple calls finally had repair person come by to fix. All he did was tag unit as being installed incorrectly. After multiple calls and no-shows by staff, I finally had it fixed. But enercare did not clear tag with enbridge and gas now shut off to house. Been almost 2 weeks with no hot water and can't get anyone at enercare to fix or call me back. Going to cancel as enercare not fulfilling their obligations of contract. Never ever want to deal with Enercare. Incompetency from top to bottom in the organization.

The technician performed a complete AC diagnostic review of the Air Conditioner Unit.

The technician performed a complete analysis of AC unit and took temperature readings from the ductwork. He shared the readings with me and recommended that the 15 year old unit should be replaced due to the age of the compressor and low cooling output. Did not recommend trying to have the compressor fixed as it would not be cost effective. He did not pressure me to provide a quote from Enercare which I appreciated.

16-204 Alva St Barrie Hot Water Tank Rental

For 16-204 Alva St. Barrie, a town house I have never owned, never lived in, never rented, for the past 2 to 3 months I have been harassed for hot water tank rental fees owing by Enercare.
This piece of shit company has now sent me to collections.
What’s next, do I have to take them to small claims court to get out of collections?
They used to be Direct Energy I believe. They had to rebrand due to issues.

what a great experience

what a great experience, my HVAC system was down and Enercare sent Patrick to give me a diagnoses, he was knowledgeable and professional, taking the time to identify the problem and provide options for the repair. he installed the parts he had available and rush ordered the once he didn't have. A few Days later Gerald was dispatched to install the outstanding parts, again it was a great experience, he was as knowledgeable and professional as the first tech, quickly installing the part and getting my system running again. I would gladly recommend either of these two fine young men to anyone needing HVAC service/repair.

We had an air conditioner with heat…

We had an air conditioner with heat pump and hot water tank installed recently and Marc and Jesse did a fantastic job! They were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, walking us through each step and making sure we could use the new thermostat and app. Have used both products for a couple of weeks and are very happy. The install team was careful to make sure they kept our floors and carpets clean and house undamaged!

Scam company!

Scam company!! Got the Furnace plan, had the the furnace inspected and was told the furnace needed to be replaced... It seemed to me the furnace was running perfectly and I was hoping they would come and clean it not try to have me replace it. I called an independent HVAC company to clean and check it after and was told nothing was wrong with it. I then called to cancel my plan with Enercare but was told I was stuck with it for a year.

I would be negligent if I did not give…

I would be negligent if I did not give a review on Enercare. I have been calling them every day for a week hoping for information on the buyout of the rental equipment that I inherited from the purchase of my home. I was first told they could not give that information over the phone. The next time I was told I would receive the information in 3-5 days via email. The email I received was a blank form. I have since received a second blank form after another phone call to them requesting the buyout quote. In addition, I have been told two times that I would receive the information in 24 hours. I did not receive the information. Enercare is exceptional at evading information and responsibility. I highly discourage anyone from using them. It is not worth the time or energy for inevitable frustration and incompetence.
