Energie Fitness - Thornton Heath Reviews 

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Energie Fitness Thornton Heath, particularly with the customer service and the cancellation process.

I tried for more than two months to cancel my membership. I searched through the website, member area and app, but I could not find any accessible option that allowed me to actually cancel the membership. The app was of no help at all.

Despite my attempts to cancel, payments continued to be taken from my account. Eventually, my only option to stop further payments was to cancel the Direct Debit with my bank.

Now, months later, I have been informed that an outstanding balance has been passed to a debt collection agency, and the gym is claiming that they tried to contact me due to “non-payment and lack of communication”.

I find this extremely frustrating and unfair. I was actively trying to cancel the membership long before cancelling the Direct Debit. A cancellation process should be simple, transparent and easily accessible — customers should not have to spend months trying to find a way to leave a monthly membership and then face debt collection afterwards.

My experience from beginning to end has been extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this gym based on the way my membership and cancellation have been handled.

By suffering you can't say anything about the conditions of the place because it's easier to cancel the membership under false and discriminatory accusations than to clean it.

Overly disrespectful, not only that but the place itself is messy and not clean, I wouldn’t want to train somewhere I know it’s not clean and hygienic. Overall I think before being rude to customers and taking away memberships make sure the place you work at is clean and safe I do not recommend this gym and wouldn’t ever go here again, get yourself sorted out stop being rude and be hygienic

This gym is a very bad place. The environment inside is toxic and uncomfortable. The manager is condescending and does not respect people’s privacy. There were times when things disappeared from my locker, and instead of helping, the manager said things like “you should not leave that in the gym,” “you probably did not close it well,” or “it is your fault for showing it.”

The bathrooms are always dirty and stay like that for weeks. Even when I tell the manager, nothing changes. Also, because of personal problems with a partner, the manager behaves very rude with me and other girls.

Basically, the service is poor, the atmosphere is negative, and I do not feel safe or respected here. I do not recommend this gym to anyone.

Today is my second day at the gym and I’ve been doing really well and I feel good with everything in the gym. I will sure ask members of Fitness gym if I ever need help with anything.

I’m an old member of the gym and it was fine. But recently when I rejoined I noticed that there’s a smell in the gym!!!

My experience with Énergie Fitness Thornton Heath has been extremely concerning and frustrating.

I initially signed up through their website for what was advertised as a free trial. Shortly after registering, I received an email stating that I had been placed on a £25 monthly membership. This was already confusing because this membership option does not appear anywhere on their website.

I attended the gym once but later decided it was not suitable for me. When I cancelled the direct debit, I was suddenly told that I was apparently locked into a 12-month contract and owed arrears. This was the first time I had ever been informed that a 12-month commitment even existed.

They later sent a supposed “contract” that I had never seen before, claiming it was agreed to during sign-up. At no stage during the registration process was it made clear that I was entering into a long-term contract.

Now they are threatening to send the matter to debt collectors over these alleged arrears.

Important contractual terms such as a 12-month commitment should be clearly explained before someone signs up. In this case the process felt extremely unclear and misleading.

I hope the gym improves transparency in its sign-up process so that other people do not find themselves in the same situation.

Energie fitness Thornton Heath is a an excellent gym, with supportive staff and friendly members. As an older member and no longer lift to much heavy weights. The gym and it’s equipment is adequate for how I now train and take care of my body.

I requested the cancellation of my subscription via email, and yet I was still charged. This is terrible! No commitment to the customer. Signing up is easy, but leaving? Apparently, they don’t care; they just keep charging.

I contacted them requesting a refund, and so far, no response. The worst!

Despite never missing a single payment once, somehow my details got passed to an aggressive debt collection agency. I have now cancelled my membership because of this and deleted the direct debit as it's clear from other reviews that they ignore emails when you want to cancel.

The people there are very welcoming and more than always happy and ready to take you through the use of the equipment. There are very friendly and cared for everyone. Is the best for me for 4 years i was with them.

It happened several times already, I booked a class though energie app and trainer didn't come. We didn't receive any notification that the class is canceled. That's very annoying and disrespectful...

No induction new members, deducting unnecessary charges from account

I like that it's open 24 hours 7 days a week staff very helpful and friendly I recommend this gym to anyone who needs the gym in the area

The water fountain is been broken for a long time and you cannot refill your water bottle in there, you can only drink directly with your mouth, which is far from hygienic.
Only AFTER you sign up, they tell you that you have to pay extra 10£/ month if you want to use the locker. 15 years of using gyms in London, this is the first time i have to pay for the locker. This is the Ryan air of the gyms.

They getting admission charges but also this good gym
