Just back from Spain. Hired a 9 seater van which I wish I could bring home as a present for myself. Best of all it is the cheapest I have paid on any other holiday by far and it was almost new. Happy all round.

Great price. Relatively easy to drop off and pick up but dropping off had to wait for someone to arrive and was slightly unclear to where we would meet.

I needed a car in Switzerland for 12 days, and used a search service (moneymaxim.co.uk) to find the best rental deal.
Erentals.co.uk came out on top due to a very good offer to upgrade one class, from Polo to Golf. As it turned out, we also got an upgrade from the provider (on paper Dollar, in reality it was Hertz) because of a slow pickup service (caused by a very tedious Swedish family who wanted every small detail explained twice!). We therefore got a nice Ford Focus station wagon for the price of a Polo. Sweet! Return service was fast and efficient, as expected from Hertz.
My only small complaint is that it does not seem to be possible to book a car with limited mileage. In Central Europe distances are small, and a deal with 100 km per day (which popped up during my search, but never materialised in the booking process) would have served the purpose perfectly.

Our car was clean and well maintained although the boot was tiny. As a 'compact' it was advertised as being big enough for 4 adults and luggage but would not fit our suitcase without folding the seats down.It's a good thing it was just two of us! I've never had this problem with other rental cars, even when I've gone for an 'economy' class car.
The actual yard is miles from the centre of town so make sure you follow the instructions that say to call BEFORE you arrive at Edinburgh train station as it's a good twenty minute drive and you don't want to be waiting for ages.

Collection point not the most convenient but friendly and efficient service. Nice car. Did not like the 'need' for zero excess insurance. £1200 excess whether fault or not is not really acceptable. The charge may as well be in the hire price to be realistic.

I was pleasantly surprised with the overall package. We received a brand new Clio Estate which was well proportioned, very economical and really well priced. Collection and return was simple and straight forward. The only glitch was that the computers crashed at the Rental Desk and forms had to be completed manually which was a bit frustrating - some sort of contingency would have been good; that said I would have no hesitation in using Thrifty again.

The website was very easy to use and it was clear what you were being offered. I took the additional excess cover insurance that was offered and there was good information provided on what to tell the car hire provider if they offered you this.
All the documents sent were clear and easy to read.
The price paid was very competitive, I'd definitely use Erentals.co.uk again.

I discovered this solution because all the US companies wanted to charge a crazy "drop fee" for my one-way rental in California. Through this service, I go a great car and a really really low daily charge and best of all - NO DROP FEE.

Easy, fast, cheap!!!

A 2 minute mini bus from Paphos airport to car hire pick up & that is standard with all hire companies I have used at cyprus except this company didn't charge airport tax or a fuel but I did pay out of office hours which I still believe is daft as airports are 24 hours & that is business or office hours as far as I'm concerned BUT on a very positive note they were not interested in small road chip marks or tiny marks made by other cars opening doors etc so unlike the other companies I used who noted tiny almost impossible to see marks which is a worry when roads in cyprus often get loose stones, the rep said NO PROBLEM small scratch, big dent big problem & that was evident when I dropped off the car he took a quick walk around and said GOOD. I would use this company again without doubt and the only reason for 4 star is the 7 seater car was under powered & struggled on steep hills.

Easy choices, clear displays, good providers.

Sometimes you get a lucky break when entering a date range for a hire car booking, and for some reason the particular dates I entered for my Spanish trip came back with one supplier (Atlaschoice) offering a brilliant deal for the 3½ weeks I needed, so I had no real option but to book with them.
The service from Del Paso, the local hire firm, was excellent and the car served me well, so no complaints.

Some problems ie the place a little out of the way, and tried to charge as I didn't have a print off of the booking but on the other hand the customer service was good and the car was great.
