They charge you a fortune for winter tires during leasing. They even steal thousands of DKK from you if you terminate your lease earlier than agreed time. The sad part is that you were not aware of these extra charge until the last minute (when you see the final bill). I would call this a complete ripoff. Be careful with them, fellows. You will regret if you do business with them, especially in Denmark.
I'm still waiting for the invoice for my company, 5 days passed after the payment. The invoice department doesn't answer calls. The local managers cannot do anything.
The service is very friendly for the car retrieval and payments but very bad if you have problems that need to be solved. I cannot beleive it is a "#1 rental en Europe", as they say...
WARNING! FRAUDLIKE COMPANY!!!
EUROPCAR is a company WITHOUT ANY MORALS! We unfortunately did not check out all the warnings on the internet. They will SCAM YOU and end up costing you a lot of money. This is how the company survive. As consumers we cannot let companies like this survive! Please help in spreading the word about this awful company to your friends/families so that they do not get SCAMMED our of their money too.
Rented A Car and that was ok but then spent several hrs on phone and In Line. Having the induranceccompany main Office and local branch communicating but no sulution was found and here i am stranded i the middel of the sticks local Office has gone to lunch.....
Don't even consider renting a car at europcar. Waited 1 hour in the middle of the night to get the keys to our car. No information was givin' about damage. We drove to our location, parked the car and walked around the city all weekend. Drove back the car and delivered it just to be told that there was a scrathed that we were going to be charged for. The scratched was placed in a spot that was impossible to get damaged by other cars in the car park (we parked against a wall). Now we have to pay over 500 pounds for a small scratch we haven't even made ourselves.
Next time I would rather walk than rent my car at this corrupt place!
ONLY ONE ADVICE AVOID EUROPCAR
BOOKED CAR for 1 week to pick up at Palma de Mallorca BRANCH for c 400 Euro, went there to pick up the car and was recommended to upgrade for as little as 190 Euro leaving me with the impression that it would the total cost for the upgrade. Unfortunately I accepted, because what they did not say was it was per day and excl. of VAT. And because we were in a hurry I did first discover it too late after a detailed reading of the rental agreement. So my conclusion they are ready to use any manipulation tactics trying to rip you off. ONLY ONE ADVICE AVOID AVOID AVOID.
My recommendation - try Sunny Cars GmbH instead.
BOOKED CAR for 2 weeks, went topic it up AT HEATHROW BRANCH 195 pound, went there to pick up the car told me i have to pay another 523 pounds, after that told me that they can reduce the cost as price to 240 on top of what i already paid, online has excess insurance too high 1000 pound and is better i have to pay 240 as they could charge me 1000 for replacing tyres or small secrach , we agreed on paying that then told me don't have automatic which what I ordered online to make short paid over 700 for 2 weeks, I'm sure every body who been there see how customers service trying to rip you off through their manipulation tactics and laying avoid avoid avoid
We waited in a queue for two hours in Menorca to collect our hire car, only one attendant managing the queue, I asked for EuropCars attendant for more help and to speak to a manager nothing helped. I sent an email of complaint the next day. The reply was poor, it said that it was their busy times, ok, so why do they not manage their business efficiently and arrange for staff to deal with their customers? Other hire operators had no queues their customers were dealt with effectively, I will never use EuropCars again.
...Just because their cars are damaged ( maybe not by accident ) and do not show that they are full, even though they are. Keep receipts so that you can prove it afterwards.
You think you get the best price, till you find out that you have to pay extra for insurance, and for other fees, such as 25 euros because it is late at night!!!
Never ever again Europcar
Don't book with Europcar - it's a scam. I know - I have experienced it.
Here is my experience: I wanted to rent a vehicle in London and kept an open eye on various websites. Autoeurope.com had a couple of good deals, but booking directly on Europcar's website actually was cheaper. I prefer dealing directly with companies as problems then can't be blamed on a third party. This turned out to be a bad idea. I booked a vehicle for 168.04 GBP for 11 days. At pick up, 10 pm in Luton with two tired small kids, I was asked to pay almost four! times as much (632,33 GBP) as I was told that the package did not allow me to drive on UK roads. Why? I needed to pay for a hull cover, which was not included. With two tired kids way past their bed time, I had no choice, but to take the car under protest. I was also told that I got a cheap rate and they needed to make it up on the insurance.
Was I told that hull insurance was not part of the cover? No, but I was made aware in the reservation that personal injury was not covered and I knew that I did not want that. I also noted that TPL (third party liability) was included and I was aware that was included in the original rate.
First, I think it is terrible corporate behavior to sell a cover that does not include the minimum coverages to get on the road. Contacting their helpservice (I was directed to Denmark), I was told that this would be allowed for US customers. I accessed the portal from a Danish IP address. They could easily see that was not from the US and I did not get any warnings.
Secondly, The insurance overcharging is insane. The price of the cover is out of proportions with reality and they took advantage of the situation that I had two tired kids with me. I feel mistreated by Europcar. I have offered a 100 GBP compromise on the hull insurance (which is still an overcharge), but the Danish agent refuses to take responsibility.
The price of the stand alone hull insurance would be more than 15.000 GBP per year. One can get a nice brand new car for that amount. That's why Europcar is a scam. Don't fall for it.
Booked a car (Mustang Convertible) through Cartrawler.com and they set us up with Europcar, who in USA are using Advantage Rentals as a 3rd party operator (very confusing, I know).
But here is what happened:
About 4 months prior to our arrival in LA, we booked a car through Cartrawler (Mustang Convertible) who hooked us up with the before mentioned Advantage Rentals company.
At the front desk of Advantage Rentals we were told that Advantage Rental didn´t have Mustangs in their Rental Program AT ALL - and that they had Europcar customers coming in every single day - who were very disappointed about that fact, because they too had been misled to belive that they were getting a Mustang when they made the reservation online.
I know that we booked a "Mustang Convertible or similar" on the internet and off course we hoped for a Mustang, because: who would prefer a Chrysler Sebring over a Mustang? Off course, NO-ONE in their right mind would want to do that!
Sometimes you have to accept that you´re just plain out of luck and the car that you really want, has just been booked by another customer, and all the company has left for you is a lesser car - You would just have to accept that situation or try out your luck at another company.
Europcar hooks you up with a company that doesn´t even HAVE the car that you are booking in their program. If that isn´t misleading, then I don´t know what misleading is!
Thank God for the nice lady at the Advantage counter that day: she called a colleague who worked for Fox and hooked us up with them :-) Everything worked out just fine, we got a 2015 Mustang Convertible and had a fantastic Roadtrip!!
Do not book cars through Europcar if you care about which car you will be renting, because Europcar sure as h... don´t!
i rented a car from manchester airport and i asked if the car was diesel? the car rentel was paid with full insurance in advance the person who was at the counter said if i paid 15 pound,s more i could get a diesel car.my wife and i agreed to it and signed the card where it states i unit and not per day.when i came back to denmark europecar in manchester took over 200 pounds from my mastercard.i have stil not received reply from europecar.i have rented a car many times before without any problems. BUTnow this company is run by crooks in manchester beware.

After several attempts with the Europcar App I gave up. I rented a Europcar via Autoeurope - 80€ below Europcars own quote - Funny business model...
When I went to Pick up the car, it looked like something just of a Stock car track. Definately NOT what I expected of an assumingly international renting company. I had to change the windshield wipers, as they were as worn out as the rest of the vehicle!
I am aware that the Nice photos on the websites does not reflect the true picture, but I am not used to bring gaffa tape and by additional spare parts when renting a car...
Warning! Never go any way near Eoropcar, their car rentals look cheap on paper, but they don't return deposits, and are therefore the most expensive car rental company in the European market. Europcar claim damages for bumps all ready on the car when you rent it. It cost my family 300 Euros extra on 600 Euro rental deal. Stay away, bright customers! We can recommend AVIS.
