We bought a used Mazda CX3 from Phill at Evans Halshaw Ford Cheshire. Phill was very helpful, knowledgable and efficient. Everything that we had asked to be done to prepare the car before collection had been done when we arrived for our appointment.

Hi bought a ford kuga through James Carr,He was excellent and so professional in what he did,So polite and helpful through the process a credit to the company.
But I have concern now as the kuga I bought has had a recall for the battery
Issue and needs to be sorted.

I felt the customer service was poor. It took 2 weeks to get an appointment for my car. I was told it would be a half day job to fix. I took it in on the Friday and then received a call to say it was a harder job than expected even though they knew what needed doing 2 weeks previous and would definitely be finished by the Monday. I rang at Monday dinner time as I had heard nothing and we were going on holiday that day. I was told it would be finished by 5pm, so that was the first day of our holiday gone. We then rang back at 4 as we had still heard nothing and were told it was still on the ramp and may not be finished in time. We had to push them to fix it as we couldn't miss another day of our holiday. They finished it at 6pm. I feel that if we hadn't have rang we would not have heard back from them on the Monday at all. To say we were angry is an understatement. To top it all off they have not fixed the issue I took it in for. The noise I wanted them to look at is still there and not any better.

I purchased a used Ford Fiesta from Evans Halshaw Chester with Max's assistance. Having come in to test drive one car that turned out to be unsuitable, Max was very helpful in finding the right vehicle for me. Max was very friendly and responsive, and, as such, the whole process felt very smooth. I could sign documents electronically, and the purchase was made quickly and easily. I fully recommend Evans Halshaw Chester for used car purchases.

A problem was diagnosed in February, car booked in a month later to get the issue fixed. It turns out that they got it wrong and needed a genuine manufacturer's part at triple the cost so basically tokd me they are not mechanics - just fitters so i would have to go and sort it myself!

I was very happy with the part exchange deal I was offered for my old car and I purchased a service and MoT plan for a good price.Max also touched up the small stone chips that were on the bonnet. I am very happy with the service I received from Max and would recommend purchasing a used car from him.

He was professional without being pushy and was very easy to talk to.

I went in to Evan Halshaw with a pre arranged test drive. The intial interaction with the dedicated sales person was below my expectations of being a customer. They were very dismissive of the concerns I had and came across quite arrogant and rude. As soon as I highlighted these issues the manager Micheal stepped in to assist with the sale. I cannot fault them from here, Michael was professional and polite. He made sure that the minor imperfections with the car were sorted before collection and it was clear that he valued his customers. Max finalised the sale and was so welcoming and friendly. He did everything he could for me to make the car purchase as stress free as possible. Overall a positive experience purchasing a car from this store thanks to Michael and Max.

Evans Halshaw - Ford Chester: We have just purchased a car and could not be happier with the whole process. The showroom is impressive, staff are in uniform and all cars look pristine. The atmosphere is professional and staff are welcoming. Max was our salesman and, whilst it is his job to sell cars and upsell add-ons, he was extremely good at his job. He was not your typical pushy salesman but was warm, engaging and represented the company well, so much so that we would not hesitate to return to purchase another car at a future date. He is definitely an asset. Be prepared to allow 3 hours for the whole process from test drive to driving away with a new car.

I recently purchased a BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe from Evans Halshaw Chester. I've been here numerous times with previous cars for servicing and MOT's and each time the service has been top class. First time purchasing at the site and Phil was nothing but helpful. I work away from home a lot of the time but with Phil's guidance, he made the buying process so easy and stress free even whilst away. Saved me so much time when coming to pick up the car. Can not rate the service highly enough, and Dan who completed the handover was just as professional and thorough. I will certainly recommend Evans Halshaw Chester to family and friends when purchasing a new car.

Recently went the Evans Halshaw to swap my Fiesta for a Puma. Was helped through the process by Max who made it easy and seamless throughout the whole process. Very good in explaining each step and offering the best products to get the most out of my new car. Let the garage feeling I received the best service possible and had been well looked after through what can be a confusing process. Would recommend this garage to anyone who’s looking for a new car or any of their services/products. Whole experience was second to none and big thank you to max for all the help.

On July 2nd 2025 I ordered a new Motability Ford Capri 125KWSelect52kWh5dATD at Evans Halshaw Chester. I was given a handover date of Sept 30th 2025.
2 weeks before the handover date I was contacted and told of production problems and a delay of 4 weeks or so was happening.
I heard nothing until after Christmas so I sent an email asking for an update. I was then told my order was about to be processed at the factory and should be with me within 6 weeks. On Feb 2nd I received a phone call from the showroom saying my car had arrived and I could finally collect it on Feb 5th seven months after my order.
3 hours after been told my car had arrived I received another call from the showroom telling me the wrong car had been delivered. I was devastated, I was told something had gone wrong with the order but I could have the car that was delivered for £4500 extra. I am a pensioner and don't have that type of money lying around. I logged on to my Mobility account the following day and found my order cancelled.
I was seriously disappointed and disheartened with the pure lack of professionalism with my order, it was really not good enough. I would have thought I would be offered at least an equivalent replacement car or even re-order my original car.
I did also leave a review on Google and a reply urged me to give a detailed report to the Evans Halshaw customer helpline, A reply from Evans Halshaw told me a member if the management team would get back to me, I have heard nothing.
Over the past 25 years, between my late Wife and myself we have had 6 new Motability cars from Evans Halshaw but I will not be using them again

Great service from Max he was really patient talking me through the car which was like brand new even though it’s 2 years old. I was really pleased with the deal he put together and even more happy he managed to turn it all around the same day. I was driving around in my new car in the afternoon after trading mine in. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back to Max in the future,

Avoid at all costs. Rude staff. Terrible customer service. Active dodgy selling tactics. Missold us a service plan with hidden exit costs without informing us and actively told us there were no costs, they provided no paperwork and then blamed us for not knowing. Avoid!!!

Had the worst experience with this branch. Had my car from April-September being fixed under warranty left me with no vehicle for my pregnancy no help at all. Lost value when selling due to needing a bigger car. Wrongly diagnosed in April had to take it back in May with the same faults- then taken to another garage and dumped there on a Friday with no information for the garage carrying out the repair. Then I didn’t get it back till September after my child was born via emergency C-section. Emails from the management team were appalling and rude. No compensation no acknowledgement of wrong doing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I traded my old car in for a new one and got a great deal at the time 2 years ago nearly. Since then I have found it very difficult to contact the garage as nobody answers the phone unless you want to buy a new car so the only way to talk to someone is to select the option for 'buy a car'. This is frustrating in itself but I have spent a lot of money on repairs since at this garage, enough to question if I am being taken advantage of here. I paid a lot of money for a full service only to discover more problems when I drove away from the garage. They wanted to charge me another £160 after full service so I took it to a trusted friend at a garage who did the test for me and told me the problem was with the new part that they fitted!! So now, again I am waiting for someone to call me back so have decided to tell trustpilot my story because Fords (Halshaw Evans, Chester) can't answer the phone or be honest. I feel totally duped!
