Had a Ford Kuga June 2025, had it serviced by them April 2026 and fixed some problems costing nearly £2000 and now the car continues to stop running. I called Monday to ask exactly what they’ve done to the car and tell them we don’t want it sorted or we will bring it back. Jordan the mechanic was absolutely brilliant. Made an appointment for today (Friday). Partner took my 15 month old daughter today to the dealership to see the manager and hand the car back over and waited 2 and a half hours in the waiting area with the baby being told the manager will see him shortly whenever he queried where he was. He left after 2.5 hours in a taxi still having seen no one. Absolutely shocking !!
DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE!!
On the 4th March I part exchanged my Mercedes Benz “A” class for a Ford Kuga that was being
sold for £9,150 at the Wrexham outlet.
I was given £7,000 in part exchange value for the Mercedes, meaning that I had to find the
balance of the purchase price, this being £2,150. This I did on finance through Evans Halshaw
I owned this vehicle for exactly 47 days.
During this time, the “oil” warning light kept coming on, even though, on checking, there was no
oil shortage.
On one occasion, the under tray came away from the vehicle causing me to abandon it in a lye
bye on the A55 for 24 hours.
I reported the defects and was advised to bring the vehicle in for attention, which I did on the 20th
April.
Prior to this, I engaged in a series of E-mails with Mr Morgan Roberts about the purchase of, and
the returning of, the said Ford Kuga
On the 10th April he told me tin an email hat the aim would to the best deal on a part exchange,
but to be aware that I would lose money in comparison to what I had paid.
I knew that this would be the case, but I was expected any loss to be minimal.
On the 13th April Mr Roberts said “I wouldn’t want you to lose any money”
On the 20th April, I went to the Wrexham outlet to finalise the purchase of a Mercedes Benz GLA,
I was given a part exchange value of £4,677.39p for the Ford, a vehicle I had owned for 47 days, meaning it had apparently lost value of £4,473 in that short space of time.
On awaiting the Mercedes to be completed and ready the ford kuga then went into limp mode and would not run which resulted in having to get recovery to come and take it back to Wrexham so I could receive my Mercedes.
Half an hour into the journey home from Wrexham the Mercedes id just purchased after being ‘serviced and mot’ had the ‘coolant level low’ alert came on.
Safe to say we will NOT be using this garage again, and will be taking it further as we have tried to email there head office with said email address but it just states ‘email cannot be sent’ and there is no contact number to get in touch with them!!
Bought an Expensive Car from them. Promised car is in good condition, and serviced.
Couple of days Later, Engine warning light is On.
Not, much help from them. To resolve the problem. Still dealing with the issue.
Costumer Service not the Best.

Having dealt with Morgan Roberts at Evans Halshaw Rhostyllen I can honestly say that his young man has been one of the best sales person I have dealt with so far in purchasing a vehicle .
Morgan was constantly in contact and nothing was too much for him at any time , so very professional and dealt with the whole transaction without any problems whatsoever , very professional, articulate and such a lovely young man .
Thank you Morgan you were a pleasure to deal with and I must add the whole team of sales staff were very accommodating and helpful .
Thank you for making it a pleasurable purchase .

Avoid! Unless you want to waste your money and time. I have never experienced such poor customer service after putting a deposit down on a brand new car. They hardly ever answer the phones or get back to you, so I had to drive down there to sort things out myself at one point (when I spotted the new car which was supposedly 'ready to collect' the day before, dirty, and yet to be ceramic coated as promised). They caused me so much stress with their incompetence to the point where I decided I didnt want to continue with the purchase due to such poor service & communication and now they are refusing to give me my deposit back. I didnt sign an order form as the details they had put on it were incorrect, they upped the price to what I initially agreed to when paying my deposit, and simply only cared about getting rid of the car suggesting I charge it there (40 miles away from home) for a few weeks up until I get a home charger installed! Just before I pulled out of the deal they offered me a £500 "gesture of goodwill" admitting their lack of customer service. Then I find out they have falsified a document with a random signature. Absolutely would not recommend. Can only imagine what their "after care" would be like...

I cannot recommend Mark Ellis highly enough. He went completely above and beyond to resolve several major faults on my van, tackling each issue with exceptional skill, patience, and professionalism. What initially felt overwhelming was handled with total confidence and care.
The work was carried out meticulously, with real attention to detail. It was clear that Mark takes immense pride in doing the job properly rather than simply rushing to get it finished. Every aspect of the repair was completed to an incredibly high standard.
What really stood out was his communication. Mark kept me fully informed throughout the entire process, clearly explaining developments and any potential complications as they arose. I always felt reassured, involved, and confident that my van was in the best possible hands.
Evans Halshaw are incredibly lucky to have someone of Mark’s calibre on their team. His professionalism, integrity, and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set him apart.
If you're looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to delivering outstanding service, Mark is the person to trust. An absolute professional from start to finish.

Bought a car 3 years ago, had lots of issues. They did agree to extend the warranty, Latest issue we took the car in for them to take a look at they left the engine cover off. We found out when we got the car back. Its been 4 months and Wrexham still have not sent the engine cover back as promised, we went to get it and they could not give it back to us as the could not get in the service bay. We have just had out MOT done and it failed because Evans halshaw is the only place who have looked at the car, and the gear box and when they have done the work the sub frame has been move which has resulted in the head light cabled being napped and so they cable tided it back on, therefore on our car failed the MOT because the the head light leveling switch has been broken and cable tided. But of course they did not tell us this had happened. Crap communication, promises broken, and car has had plenty of problems. Gutted and paid over the odds because we wanted reassurance that we had a good quality car from a reputable garage.

Very disappointed with the workmanship and communication. The van went in with a suspected wet belt issue and was found to have slightly jumped timing. Despite Ford guidance clearly stating that a timing belt must never be refitted once removed, the vehicle was reassembled using the existing belt. I was also told the timing was adjusted without removing the belt, which directly contradicts Ford’s own procedures.
I only authorised the initial strip-down and was not contacted before the vehicle was rebuilt. I am now faced with a £950 bill for work that needs to be completely redone to replace a belt that is not fit for purpose. The service manager, James Handley, also claimed the engine had a vernier pulley to adjust timing, despite these engines not being fitted with vernier pulleys. This has left me with serious concerns about the competence, safety, and overall standard of work carried out.

Avoid — Untrustworthy and Overcharges
Took my car in for an MOT and service. failed due to a tyre (fair enough) and a TPS malfunction on dash, quoted £75 diagnostic fees. I declined and then received further repair costs invoice which quoted for a Sensor replacement of £189. I declined as i wanted to review the fault myself. (Glad i did) I resolved the issue myself in under a minute with a simple dashboard reset — no diagnostics, no parts, no specialist work required.
This raises serious concerns about their customer care and integrity and why a basic reset was not attempted before suggesting chargeable diagnostics and repairs. The experience left me with no confidence in this business and will not use in the future. Customers should be extremely cautious and question any additional work or charges suggested.

My daughter bought a 6 month old demo electric ford puma from here. Had it four months and having problem with the battery. Explaining to them the problems we was having and all I got was its because of the cold weather. What less than 100 miles on a full charge!!! All orher Puma forums stating more than this. They have no clue about their own vehicles. Wanted us to pay £130 for the hourly rate for labour in case it wasn't a fault covered by the warranty.
Absolute joke of a company. Sold it to a young 21 year old telling her the warranty covers everything and all I got was read the t&c's. Good luck with trying to get hold of then too. Never answer the phone to the point I had to ring the Chester branch to get them to answer. Would never use this company again. Will let you know how I get in as am speaking to head of business later as I was just fobbed off by the service manager.

Hi
The experience was stressful, holding a car for 9 weeks and 2 days under a warranty repair, with excuse after excuse, I was told the main part a turbo solenoid was on long lead time, but Evans Halshaw had the related hoses delivered, so I sourced the solenoid from Netherlands, had delivered in two days, took round, asked that you had the hoses and was told yes, but we haven't got solenoid, so I showed the reception guy, that id sourced and got the solenoid, he asked me to hang fire, and then told me mercedes don't split deliveries so they had no parts. When parts did arrive, was told test drive failed, it was the turbo at near 4k, took my car away, but this had a delay of being collected, as was blaming warranty company, but he checked email and was already authorised. Tyre was near flat, batteries had become damaged. I'd booked into mercedes who fixed in less than 5hrs, turbo intercooler pipe was disconnected. Health check and repair of vehicle approx £640, battery replacement and fitting, caused by Evans Halshaw £700. So not happy with service, a formal complaint will be submitted. For trying to defraud by mistakakenly diagnosing parts.
Car booked in 20th August 2025.
Car finally allowed to be collected 17th October 2025
Regards
Gary

Do you have a phone number I can phone?

Appalling customer service, car went in for a fault and spent 9 days there. No offer of a courtesy car. I had to phone and chase daily for updates, each time the phone just rang & rang & rang. EH assured me that they dealt with the 3rd party warranty company, another lie! I've ended up paying and now have to claim it back. The Service Manager was rude & arrogant each time we spoke. People skills are really lacking. On my final call with him, he failed to put the phone down properly before releasing his frustrations out. 'JOG ON' were the spoken words before the line disconnected.
Avoid this garage. Horrendous.

No email or text on progression of the service/mot. I had to ring up to request this to be resent (sounded like an IT fault).
I was told pickup was 12.30pm after dropping off the car at 8.30am. By 1pm I had zero communication. I called several times with nobody picking the phone up. Eventually got through and picked the car up at 3pm.
Not ideal when working.

A bit of an update from the awful experience I had from the other week when I placed my review.
On receiving the what I assume is an automated response I tried to email the address provided however the email given was incorrect. I tried this 5 times from 2 email accounts and non of them worked.
I then decided to fill out a complaints form online. It has now been over a week and I have not received a response.
A disgrace of a company that does not care and cannot be trusted.
