I bought a second hand Ford from Evans Halshaw in March, the service and sales procedure were pretty much straight forward and Paul was helpful enough. It’s the after sales attention that is getting my goat. A very small part was missing from the boot and Paul said that he would get it replaced - that was March! Ok, so it’s a very minor issue but I expected more from the dealership. To add insult to injury, I received an email last month asking if everything is ok with the vehicle, i replied to this email but it was totally ignored. I phoned the dealership and a salesman told me that someone would be in touch - yeah, of course. The thing about poor after sales care is that I might be in the market for a newer car in the future, how likely am I to approach Evans Halshaw for a new car? By the way, they still have something belonging to me which I would like returned.

Evans Halshaw Lincoln awful. Drove 2 hours 100 miles to collect a vehicle. Arrive at the garage to find the rear driver side wheel flat.
Total incompetence ensued with the sales manager inflating the tyre and assuring us it had been resolved, and the issue was due to the vehicle being on the forecourt for a while.
Driving home the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree as the tyre had only been inflated to 3/4 of the correct PSI. Forcing an unexpected tyre to inflate the tyre which we were reassured had been resolved.
We have since established that the tyre is losing 1psi per day.
We reached out to the sales agent last Wednesday. No response.
Logged a complaint on Friday with communication it would be resolved within 48 hours. No follow up.
Escalated the issue through live chat on Monday. Promised urgent contact. Still nothing.
Awful company who just wants to get the car off the forecourt and don’t care beyond that.
Poor ai response. Doesn’t even address rectifying the issues

UPDATE - mates Dad liked our cars that much he bought one so that's now £105k of sales.
Visited recently to arrange a test drive in a Geely vehicle. The Geely guy, the only one who deals with them (said the Ford salesman) was on his weekend off. Fair enough, we are all entitled to time off work.
I return a week later to speak with him only to be told the Geely woman was out filling a car with petrol and no one can book a test drive but her. Where's the Geely guy and why send the only person who deals with the brand out for petrol. Anyone could do that task.
I leave and try to book a test drive online, the website doesn't work. I call and again no one can help me so I leave a message asking for a return call. Hours later and nothing so I visit again on my way past to be told Geely woman still isn't avilable.
Why on earth don't you have more than one person who can book a test drive. Ford sales people sat at their desk doing nothing but didn't offer to help me. Why not have a diary that any staff can look in and book appointments. Don't you want to sell cars ?
I left, called another dealership and booked a test drive for the very next day. Ended up spending £70k on two cars. I pick them up in a few days.
Sort yourself out Evans Halshaw. Can't even book a test drive let alone sell a car.

I have never felt compelled to leave a review like this before, but after my experience with Evans Halshaw Lincoln over the last year, I feel other customers should be aware.
I purchased a vehicle from this dealership in September 2025. From my very first visit, the customer service was disappointing. My partner and I arrived shortly before closing and were effectively told to move our car and look around by ourselves because staff were about to finish for the day.
The vehicle itself was exactly what I was looking for, so I arranged a test drive and decided to proceed with the purchase. Unfortunately, this is where the problems really began.
The salesperson handling my purchase, Mark, repeatedly made me feel as though I was not being taken seriously as a customer. As a young woman buying a car independently for the first time, I felt patronised throughout the process. On more than one occasion he made comments implying I lacked knowledge because I was "just a girl". He also mocked the profession I am training for and generally came across as dismissive and disrespectful.
One incident that particularly stood out occurred when I collected the vehicle. Despite all discussions, paperwork and communications being conducted directly with me, Mark handed the keys and paperwork to my 15-year-old brother, whom he had never met before and who obviously could not drive. That moment summed up exactly how I felt I had been treated throughout the entire process.
My biggest concern, however, relates to the warranty that was sold alongside the vehicle.
Before purchasing, my stepfather attended the dealership with me because I already felt uncomfortable with how the sale was progressing. During discussions, Mark assured both of us that the premium 24-month warranty would cover anything that went wrong with the vehicle during the first two years, up to the value of the car itself. Those assurances were a significant factor in my decision to purchase the warranty, which cost close to £1,000.
Fast forward to my recent MOT and health check and I have now been quoted over £1,000 for repairs. When we contacted the dealership regarding the warranty, we were informed that the work is not covered.
Had the warranty limitations been explained accurately at the point of sale, I would not have purchased it. As a result, I am left feeling that the product was misrepresented to me in order to secure a sale. I am currently seeking further clarification regarding what was said during the sales process and whether the information provided complied with consumer protection requirements. Customers should be able to rely on the representations made by sales staff when deciding whether to purchase additional products.
The problems did not stop there. Attempting to book my MOT and service was a frustrating experience. I spent almost an entire lunch break trying to contact the dealership, was transferred multiple times, placed on hold repeatedly and disconnected several times. I eventually received confirmation for an appointment I had not requested and could not attend. The process was so poor that I ultimately asked my partner to call on my behalf because I no longer wanted to deal with the customer service I had been receiving.
When I attended the dealership following my MOT, I was quoted over £1,000 worth of additional work. To discuss my concerns, I spoke with a member of staff called James, who was genuinely professional, polite and helpful. He is the only member of staff I have dealt with at this dealership who made me feel listened to, and I want to acknowledge that.
Unfortunately, when James attempted to involve a senior manager, Matthew Bavin, the situation became even worse. Rather than speaking with me, he stated that he was dealing with another complaint and then said words to the effect of: "You can email me or I can stand here and pretend to listen." He then walked away.
I found this response completely unacceptable from someone in a management position.
Overall, my experience with Evans Halshaw Lincoln has been consistently disappointing. Between the poor customer service, the dismissive attitude towards me as a female customer, the concerns regarding the warranty that was sold to me, and the unwillingness of management to properly address complaints, I have completely lost confidence in this dealership.
I would strongly encourage prospective customers to carefully review all paperwork, ask for everything in writing, and consider alternative dealerships before making a purchase.
I would also like to add the response to this review is unacceptable it is obvious from the branch staff nothing will be done and I have still not been responded to!

Warning if you have Ford there is no warranty - Ford don't care. and please don't take it to a dealership as they will charge you £156 to tell that no one cares

Purchased a 6 month old car from Lincoln dealership on the 4th March 2026, I'm very pleased with the car itself, unfortunately after 6 weeks no log book has arrived at my address. I contacted DVLA to be told that the dealership had put the car in my name but put the previous owners address on it. I've now got to go back to the dealership tomorrow to get this resolved. Not only have I got to take time off work but I'm fuming that this is a legal document, how can they make such a major error. They spend so much time trying to flog me service plans etc, they need to concentrate on the legal side of things. I really hope this gets resolved tomorrow or I will be escalating this to their head office.

I recently purchased (24th Feb 2026) a new Ford Kuga ST Line X from the Lincoln Ford car dealership. After taking delivery, I raised some questions about the vehicle. Initially, the salesman tried to mis-direct me by giving false information and when I again questioned this they tried again by changing their story. They also gave me false paperwork that isn't for my vehicle to try and cover up their shoddy salesmanship. Yet again I questioned this and the fact they gave the DVLA false information about the manufacturer date and to date, they have not ignored my emails.
I then went to the main Evans Halshaw head office site to file a complaint (2 weeks ago) and they have also ignored the complaint.
I have Ford UK doing their best to get my issues resolved and they are going to try and get Evans Halshaw to answer me.
Disgusting customer service, add the fact that they also owe me £490.92 I'm not a happy customer.

Firstly they don’t do a zero rating.
Avoid at all costs these are nothing but pure ignorant people with no regards to personal safety. I purchased a car which turned out to have a faulty bonnet catch which was confirmed by another one of their branches. I took a day off from work at my expense to get this resolved low and behold still not fixed I need another visit at my cost again all the while I have a dangerous bonnet catch which could release at anytime whilst driving. I then released whilst in decent daylight that they had done probably thee worst paint job I’ve ever seen in my life. I reported everything and was told I would be contacted within 48 hours, 9 days later still nothing no one would put me through to head of business I found from a friend the head of business email address. I emailed the guy and he wants to fix the problems however that was 6 days ago he purely ignores my messages. I’m having to sell the vehicle at a reduced cost due to faults etc and I’m now currently 4 thousand pounds out of pockets due to these horrible people. Ford Lincoln PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE AVOID. You can thank me later

Bought a used car from EH Ford in Lincoln this month. Had to wait quite a while to see the salesperson even though I had made an appointment for a given time. Was left to look at the car alone - which is good as you feel no pressure and also allowed to test drive it without a member of staff, which again is very good.
They wouldn't move on price and offered a low price on trade in but this is the same across all dealers to be honest.
Deal was done and a number of requests agreed, to be completed before collection. When I came to collect the car I had already had to transfer the money and also set up my car insurance to change.
On collection:
New MOT - not done. I only checked this when I got home as I was told it would be done so presumed it had been.
Repair 2 scuffed wheels - only one done
Straighten up the ridiculously wonky front plate - not done, needed a new plate to sort it.
Change brake fluid was part of service (which I would pay the extra for) - nope, forgot to do it.
They had my money and my insurance was set to change that day so I couldn't really do anything but take the car.
So could have been a much better experience overall. Salesperson was friendly and polite.

Feb 2025 bought a used 2021 Vauxhall Astra from the Lincoln branch. The salesman Martin was good but after taking money, low quality responses and just stopped emailing back about my concerns. Faulty car with multiple issues and one major engine/turbo problem, required multiple attempts to fix, very incompetent service team which was very difficult to reach and arrange appointments. The 123 point check, pre-sale service and MOT were promised, all which should've caught the many issues before it was handed over. Salesman also promised a full tank of petrol, it was a few drops away from being empty. They detected 2% water within the brake fluid upon a free vehicle health check, they've had multiple chances to catch it before selling if the checks were genuinely conducted properly.
Dealer tried to invoice me for repairs of the faulty car. Dealer stopped responding to attempts to follow up on progress. Service dept also tend to not answer the phone so can't get through to them all day. Complained to finance, which upheld complaint in full, dealer was instructed to complete repairs at no cost immediately. Evan's Halshaw took their time and still invoiced me to release the car acting ignorant of what's happened. Not once have they apologised for their failings and time wasted. They claim they were unaware the main issue wasn't fixed, despite me reminding them multiple times, and the finance company alerting them. Just dragging the process on even further.
10+ months it has taken for repairs to be completed. If your car has no problems, you'll likely have a good sales experience. If you encounter any issues, they will massively screw you over. For a reputable brand, the experience was a joke.

We recently replaced our Ford Puma with Jason from used car sales. He showed patience and understanding throughout the transaction and was very pleasant to deal with. He helped us achieve an acceptable deal within our budget and we are very pleased with our replacement car.
This is our second Ford Puma and our fifth car from the Lincoln showroom on Outer Circle Road.
I would not hesitate to recommend this showroom, whether buying a new or previously owned car.

I purchased a Mercedes-Benz from this dealer in June 2025 for £19,000 and the aftersales service has been completely unacceptable.
From the start, the vehicle had multiple faults, including the air conditioning not working, brake vibration, and a headlight that had been wedged in place with a block of wood. I returned the car numerous times and was repeatedly assured that all issues had been fully repaired.
While the air conditioning was eventually fixed, I later discovered that the headlight had not been repaired at all — the block of wood was simply moved to make it less visible. The brake issue has never been resolved, despite the dealership claiming they have an invoice showing the work was carried out.
My last contact with the manager was on 27/11/25, where I made it clear how unhappy I was with the situation. I was told that “nearly used cars have problems” and that a part would be ordered. Since then, I’ve had no follow-up, no repair, and no apology.
Six months later, these issues remain unresolved. I have full call logs and dated photographs documenting every visit, repair attempt, and ongoing fault. The lack of honesty, poor workmanship, and complete disregard for customer service has been staggering. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before buying from this dealer.

I bought a used Puma (25 months old) from Evans Halshaw Lincoln (EH) in March 2025. About 4 weeks later, after a couple of hand washes, I noticed about 40 to 50 dark spots had suddenly appeared at once, mainly on the bonnet. I tried to clean them off but nothing worked so I asked a bodyshop specialist for advice. I was shocked when he said that they were stone chips which had been so badly repaired that only a respray could fix them. I really didn’t want the car resprayed (about £1,500) but I knew that these marks would impact the resale value of the car, & I would not have bought it had I seen them when I viewed it.
I contacted EH & they made their position very clear-it was a used car, I should have checked it when I bought it, there was nothing that they could, or rather would, do. I told them that I believed they were wrong. The marks were NOT visible when I bought the car, they appeared later because an extremely sub-standard repair had been carried out either when the car was in their possession or before. I reminded them about their responsibilities under the 2015 Consumer Rights Act. They still refused to accept any responsibility, even though they admitted that they had carried out “cosmetic repairs” to the Puma they had no record of what work was done. How convenient.
I was getting no-where with them so in May I raised a formal complaint using the EH complaint process. Despite receiving a confirmation email with a reference number & stating “We will contact you within 48hrs to agree an action plan” I heard nothing for weeks. I tried to escalate this with EH including the Dealer Principal (he never returned my call) & eventually spoke to a Sales Manager. He knew about my situation but knew nothing about my formal complaint which he showed no interest in. So that was a waste of time!! He said he would not approve a respray (there was not enough margin in the deal!) but would agree to my local (Bedford) EH garage carrying out a SMART repair. Reluctantly (also based on legal advice) I agreed as long as it fixed the problem.
The repair was booked for June, however when he saw the car the Bedford Evans Halshaw SMART repair man refused to do the work as he said whatever he did would make it worse and a respray was the only way of fixing it. I assumed that based on this feedback from their own expert exactly matching the advice I had obtained, that the garage would agree to a respray, but the Sales Manager repeatedly rejected this.
After more legal advice in June I sent a Section 24 letter explaining my case & that as the garage had not taken their opportunity to fix the problems, I was rejecting the car. More emails but still no resolution so I took the case to the National Conciliation Service (NCS).
After many more hours of research, filling in forms, sending emails etc, in September the NCS ruled in my favour stating that EH had to either carry out a full respray so as to ensure the marks are not visible, refund me the cost of the car or provide a replacement vehicle. I was delighted with this outcome, however still very angry at the way EH had treated me, how they tried to wriggle out of their responsibilities, the total lack of any contrition or apology.
Naively maybe I thought that was the matter sorted but of course the garage took a long time to decide which option they would take, & then the Sales Manager had the audacity to ask me to get the work done myself for a third of the amount a specialist had quoted. I was amazed.
All of the staff I encountered at Evans Halshaw in Lincoln consistently behaved disgracefully, absolutely no care for a customer once the money had been paid. This could have been sorted quickly and easily had they accepted quite basic irrefutable and logical facts, but they would not do this. Therefore the whole matter went on for months, cost me a lot of time & created lots of stress for my wife and I. Yet still not one word of apology.
I will never buy from Evans Halshaw again.
UPDATE AFTER EVANS HALSHAW RESPONSE
Your response appears to be from a standard boilerplate of platitudes, or a quick AI exercise.
If your company has ANY commitment to customers and addressing the root cause of problems then why was nothing done before my revie? You have had MONTHS to address this and tell me that you are sorry how you wasted literally days of my life in a futile attempt to avoid your contractual (& moral) responsibilities. But nothing was done.

Excellent, superb service, Mark in sales and Jac in service worked seamlessly together to supply a second hand car, nothing has been a problem from mark shipping the car from another depot and sorting all the paperwork to jac sorting the car so it’s perfect and setting up a worry free service schedule for the next 3 years at an affordable price and piece of mind knowing the Ford techs know what they are doing. My last Ford was serviced there to the same high standard but it’s the first I’ve bought from them, it won’t be the last, thanks. Oh and free coffee ! Jonathan

Action Required - 24B36 - Transit- Chassis Inspection
I have been in dispute with Evans Halshaw (Lincoln) dealership and Ford Motor Company Ltd for the past four months regarding a recall on my ford transit, whether it has been completed or still outstanding.
After receiving a “recall” letter from Ford (August 2024) I left my vehicle with Evans Halshaw. Lincoln and collected it on the same day at the dealership, I was informed the inspection had been completed, strange though it had not moved from where I had parked it on the forecourt.
In August 2025 I received another “recall” letter and emailed Evans Halshaw Help Desk on numerous occasions to verify what the situation was, without any response.
I then contacted the manager who stated that the inspection had been carried out, which he confirmed several times over the past few months stating that it was a fault with the Ford Reporting System.
Early December 2025 I received an email response from Ford following my enquiy informing me that the “recall” was still outstanding. In frustration I emailed the offices of Pendragon Management Services hoping for a response, they then referred my emails to Evans Halshaw. Lincoln, the latest threatening “legal action”.
In quick response that day the manager Mr. Owen called, in a brief discussion he informed me there had been no inspection and recommended I go to another garage for an inspection, I presume the reporting of the “recall” to Ford was nonsense.
No explanation was provided by the manager on why he had deceived, lied to me or offer an apology for the time wasted, he did suggest I try another bodyshop that may help me.
This vehicle was parked outside the front of the dealership/reception visible for all to see, for it to be there all day without no inspection and then being called to collect it seems inconceivable.
I have been driving this vehicle on the instruction by Evans Halshaw that the inspection had been carried out and it was safe to do so, I am uncertain what the structural recall may have involved if minor/major but the consequences of a vehicle failure or incident would have been worrying not to mention liability presumably covered by Evans Halshaw.
This was the second time I booked my vehicle to this dealership, the initial booking was made by Ford Motor Company help desk due to difficulties making contact with Evan Halshaw reception, then refusing to take the vehicle, my understanding they were contractually obliged to take it.
On my first visit to the dealership for the “recall” I was turned away as they had no available drivers to take it to another workshop, I was instructed to make another appointment.
I am now in the same position for a third time and 18 months later, the whole affair dealing with Evans Halshaw dealership has been a nightmare, the overall impression is they are not interested.
