Dealt with Andy Murray who was very knowledgeable, efficient and down to earth. The whole experience was a breeze from start to finish and I will definitely be returning in future.

Very poor service. Purchased new car in late January and still havent got my car. The sales person who dealt with us could not care less and has not provided a personal service with very few updates. Manager doesnt want to know. I have been a loyal customer, however this will be my last purchase from them ( if i ever get my car ). Im aware there is a delay due to parts, however this is a disgrace and staff not helpful at all.

Absolutely shocking. I bought a car from Evans Halshaw Motherwell, a fiesta ST line, 3 years old. Within 10 months of buying it, it has had problems. It needs a new gearbox at only 17000 miles at an estimated cost of £1300! I was assured it has full service history but it hasn't. Evans Halshaw are not interested, washed their hands of it. So upset. I was a loyal customer too having bought 3 cars from Evans. Never again.

I was stupid enough to trust the Evans Halshaw's advert in Auto Trader with its claim of 109 check list and buy a GLE Mercedes (£26k) online with delivery. As soon as I drove the car to fill it with fuel, as it was delivered on reserve, I noticed a noice from the suspension. I got the local Mercedes dealer to do a health check and they confirmed that the N/S/F damper was leaking, which was an MOT failure. I contacted Evans Halshaw and advised them of the problem and suggested they contact the Mercedes dealer for confirmation. After much prevarication and buck passing, which just happened to pass the 14 day cooling off period, they advised me that they did not believe Mercedes and as I had not opted for an extra £1000 of fault insurance they were not prepared to do anything to rectify the fault. Faced with their total lack of responsibility I got Mercedes to MOT the car, which confirmed the failure and fix the problem and retest at a cost of £1950. I emailed Evans Halshaw with copies of the MOT fail and subsequent pass certificates and the repair bill and asked for their comments. To date there has been no response from Evans Halshaw, so be warned, you too could be conned if you go anywhere near this shower.
9 March 2023 Pendragon, who I believe own Evans Halshaw emailed as follows:
Thank you for providing this additional information.
I can confirm that a complaint has been opened for investigation and the relevant management will be in contact with you to discuss this further.
22 March 2023
No response from 'the relevant management' so sent the following
Anya,
Still no response from 'the relevant management'.
How long do I have to wait for someone at Evans Halshaw to take responsibility?
You must feel really ashamed to be working for an organisation which take so little care of customers.
Regards
Keith Anderson
Do I expect a response? Not holding my breath.
18 April 2013
Anya,
On 23 March you emailed me to confirm you would chase management to contact me.
On 29 March, Mark, Sales Manager at Evans Halshaw, Motherwell phoned me saying that he had only, that day, heard of the problem. Not a very quick response.
He did not know anything about the problem, so I had to go through it all again.
So, no information was passed from you to him.
His management style lacks something if he did not know what was going on in his branch.
His staff are either lazy, scared and/or liars if they had not informed him of the problem.
With the usual Evans Halshaw lack of responsibility he said that he would have to take the problem 'up the line' and that he would get back to me by Friday 31 March.
It will come as no surprise to you that he has not been back in contact since.
It strikes me that if you were doing a half decent job, you would have followed up with him to confirm action had been taken and that resolution had been achieved.
However, it appears that Pendragon is every bit as intransigent and disinterested in customer satisfaction as the Evans Halshaw staff and I use the term staff in its loosest form.
So, I suggest that you 'take it up the line' and get someone at Pendragon to take some responsibility for sub-standard quality of Evans Halshaw staff or at least confirm that sub-standard is the accepted norm for both Pendragon and Evans Halshaw.
Regards
Keith Anderson

Terrible! Put in for £134 service in Motherwell. An hour before pick up, I receive a bill for £421!! No where on this invoice did it say that the “repairs” didn’t need to be carried out there and then and that I could choose to leave them. There was simply an “approve” button. TOTAL SCAM! It wasn’t till I received a call about these so called “repairs” that I was told I didn’t have to have them done. They even attempted to have me do a credit check in order to “spread the cost of the repairs”. I decided not to have the “repairs” done so the mechanic “Kyle” informed me that he was just going to hoover, clean and then wash my car and then I could pick it up. So I arrived and paid the £134 then picked up my car key. Was then given the wrong car key, wasn’t told exactly where my car was. Hunted the whole car park.. when I finally found my car, the glove box was wide open with all my books and personal items strewn over the passenger seat. I tidied it all away and left. The car had not been hoovered, interior not cleaned, and it certainly wasn’t washed!
They make videos to prove they checked over the car but the videos finding the “faults” are non existent! So am I supposed to take their word for it? TOTAL SCAM!!
Absolutely appalling
Will not use this garage again.

I had a very disappointing experience when my disabled wife put her car in for service and mot. The car failed and we were advised it needed 2 front tyres and tracking. I said I would take the car away and return for retest as I could get a better-quality tyre for less than Evans Halshaw was offering. Unfortunately, they refused to give my wife her keys back until we signed a disclaimer which they told me was a VOSA rule. This made my wife very upset but when I checked with VOSA and the local police station I was told they could not hold my car and cant force me to sign any disclaimer. I asked to speak with the Dealer Principle who I have to say was not very helpful. Bottom line is I got my keys back with my mot failure paperwork, only after customers doing deals started to hear the conversation. Clearly the Dealer Principle was worried he would lose business. Now, I've used this company for years, my family buy all the cars from this dealer and up to now had no big issues. I work just over the road in an organisation that employs over 12000 staff in north lanarkshire, a lot of the people I work with used this garage.
My concern is the way they made my wife feel, she was scared to take the car and very nearly paid the large bill. Luckily, I have now got the 2 tyres which are better quality than what was offered for a fair bit less, I also only paid £25 for tracking and not the £72 quoted by Evans Halshaw. Now to be clear, my family have used this establishment for years even when they had the Rapid Fit centre at the back where the manager Drew was exceptional, up to now we have only ever had minor issues that were sorted out. Not this time, they were kind enough to do a FREE health check which identified 2 tyres were dangerous but when they failed my cars mot only one of those tyres failed the mot, now dangerous would suggest not safe yet the mot faults were less than the faults on the FREE health check. To top it off I now wonder if my car has had a service at all, the car was not washed, not hoovered and the book was not stamped, all of which I paid for on my service plan. Its really sad that I've had no apology from the branch and I will now no longer be using the garage to buy and service my cars, I've been a customer here since it was Trust Ford, strange why the name changed... I've now cancelled my service plan and have yet to share my experience with my friends and work colleagues, I will see what feedback I get before I share my experience with them. Strange thing is when we handed in the car we had looked at a ford kuga in the show room and had said to each other we should see if we can get a good deal changing cars, I'm glad I had this experience before parting with another £30000. Hopefully I will receive a positive reply with a gesture to make up for the distress my disabled wife has experienced at the hands of Evans Halshaw.
*****UPDATE after EVANS HALSHAW REPLY****
Still nothing in the reply about the service I did not receive that was paid for ie car wash and hoover and my book not being stamped. Still dont know if my car was actually serviced. I can only go on my experience. I would AVOID AVOID AVOID as even customer service team don't answer all the concerns I raised. Got the car MOT and tyres from another garage saved over £100, got far better tyres and the customer Service was Excellent, even got the car washed and hoovered which I had already paid for with Evans Halshaw but they didn't fulfill the service agreement I paid for. Again AVOID AVOID AVOID, there are lots of good garages available but there is also the odd bad one. Thanks Evans Halshaw Customer Service for NOT reading my review properly and only answering a few of my complaints, if nothing else you are consistent with the other areas of the company!

Put my car in for its 2nd service on 02/11/21 with no other faults. Collected car and got about 1/3 of a mile from the garage and all the oil and engine warning lights and buzzers came on. Pulled in rather quick and switched off the engine. There was oil everywhere under the bonnet and road with none left in the engine. Two chaps came from the garage with a can of oil. Despite telling them the oil was just leaking like a fountain they decided to fill it up and drive back to the garage only to get about 200yards and stop out of oil. They then decided to tow it back to the garage.( this was an under 2year old 4x4 auto ford kuga vignale with about 3500miles on the clock.)despite asking them not to. The problem seemingly was a burst oil filter which I had to take their word for as I was not shown it. No effort was made to remove the spilled oil from under the bonnet and engine. The next morning my garage floor was covered in oil drips. Took the car back to the garage twice to get this cleaned. The bill was repaid back to me. Monday 23/05/22 phoned garage as drips of oil had appeared on my garage floor again ( only 1100 miles more on the clock ) and after what had happened previously I phoned evans halshaw to be told the earliest the car could be looked at was 13/06/22 ( three weeks ). After the oil leakage the last time and only serviced 1100miles since I was a bit worried using it in case of a repeat performance. I went into evans halshaw and was told this was the only set date the car could be looked at or I could leave the car there and they would look at it sometime.( 1week,2week?). I don’t think I would be leaving my garaged expensive ( to me ) car lying in a garage forecourt for an unknown period of time. I left evans halshaw where I had bought the car and went to an independent garage who could not have been more helpful despite being busy and after hearing what had happened they took the car in while I watched and removed the cover below the engine and checked everything and discovered the drips were being caused by oil that had been trapped under and around the radiator from the previous leak and had soaked into the foam. Put cover back on and would not take any payment. Reassured that there is nothing serious to worry about going to happen. NO THANKS TO EVANS HALSHAW. By the way just lost another customer.

I phoned the sales team about some warranty work after having the car for 7 months, the car had new brakes fitted and the alloys had just been refurbished at the time of purchase plain to see and discussed with the saleman at the time. Funny when I phoned up to inquire about warranty work one minute they had been done then the next phone call " no we never done any work to that car". Still waiting on evidence of what work had been done. Salesman prepared to lie time and time again to save a pound. Avoid..
