Staff friendly, efficient and professional but parking a total nightmare. Difficult to check your car in if you can't park. Tech staff let me use the MOT bay otherwise there was nowhere else to park.

as I am disabled I cannot always attend therefore I was offered to have my car picked up and taken to the garage for MOT testing and returned later, which I was very pleased with, both the pick up/drop off service and the pass certificate.

Bought a 21 plate Renault Zoe EV from them 20/2/25. Nice car but there vaunted pre sale inspection missed correct tyre pressures, setting the cars clock correctly and since the beginning of June we have a service due warning which is now permanent. Talked to them today and it wasn’t serviced before we drove it away even though they promised they would! They’re now saying that they only service cars if it is due within 3 months of sale so basically they lied to us when we bought it. They cannot be trusted and definitely should be avoided.

I bought a used 2020 Vauxhall Crossland X from the Evans Halshaw Hyundai Gateshead branch in mid-February of this year. I live in Scotland and opted for the three month warranty; a month in the 'low oil level' alert popped up on the dash. I checked the oil, it seemed full; the alert came up several more times. I called the Gateshead dealership and asked them to make an appointment at a local EH service centre here in Scotland (I was told explicitly that only EH Vauxhall mechanics would look at the car as per the warranty). They responded that I could make an appointment myself but to remember that there was a £500 cap per claim and I would need to pay whatever the difference; I opted for the earliest appointment, mid-June, assured in writing that despite the warranty having expired by June that because I had made the appointment whilst under warranty they would cover the cost. The alert continued to go on and now the car was starting to shudder upon turning it on in the morning. It went into Safe Mode several times while driving, once while I was on the motorway. Concerned, I called up the EH service centre to move up the appointment, no luck. I then decided to bite the bullet and take it to my own garage and just pay the cost of whatever the repair would be. The garage acknowledged that yes, something was wrong but a Vauxhall-specific diagnostic reader was going to be needed. I called the service centre again for the third time, no luck, a second EH Vauxhall service centre in Scotland even further away with no luck being seen there until the end of June. Starting to panic at this point I found out who one of the mangers was at Gateshead dealership and aimed a carefully worded email. I got a call back the following day and he was able to call in a favour at the service centre where I had my mid-June appointment - to get me in the following day to diagnose the issues.
I managed to get the car to the service centre (very slowly) and they kept the car overnight to assess properly the oil system. Got a call the following morning that the issue had been rectified, and passed a road test with flying colours. I go in to collect, thank you so much and was told to let them know if there were any further issues. I spoke to the manager that I had dealt with at Gateshead and asked to extend the warranty in case anything went wrong with the repair and he said any thing that might stem from this problem they could rectify - just let him know. Win win as far as I could tell.
Less than 72 hours later and the, 'oil level is low' alert comes back. I immediately let the manager that had helped me at Gateshead know. No response. Six days later the alert comes up again and the engine is shuddering again. Notify the manager again and still no response. Following day and the car won't start, the oil alert comes on and the car shudders when the engine finally does kick in. Notify the manager for the third time in a week - no response still. Let's not forget that at this point I'm a week past my warranty expiration date. I call Gateshead now as no one had acknowledged my concerns and the receptionist says she can make a call to the service centre in Scotland that had seen the car before but that was the best she could do. She calls me back and tells me they can fit me in in AUGUST. I told her that that was not going to fly and what was I supposed to do with a car that I'd had for three and a half months and was clearly get worse by the day?? She said that I could bring it down to THEIR service centre in Newcastle and I actually laughed at her. How am I supposed to drive two and half hours down south in a car that starts when it feels like and goes into Safe Mode sporadically?? Have now spoken to senior member of staff at Gateshead - have to ring the service centre and impress upon them the poor work they carried out and push to get in ASAP and ask for courtesy car for the duration of repair. Not impressed with many of the dismissive responses I’ve received, the inability to get a hold of someone who will listen and help, and EH’s inability to rectify a clearly pre-existing issue.

Recently visited to trade in my current PCP vehicle and purchase two new cars. I was offered a great deal and was assured that as long as I returned before the end of the month, the offer would be honored. I came back the very next day, within the agreed timeframe, completed the necessary paperwork, and left feeling satisfied with the transaction.
However, I was later informed that the dealership could no longer uphold the agreed-upon price because the paperwork had been processed too late. At no point was I made aware of any processing deadlines beyond the end-of-month timeframe provided. In fact, the official paperwork stated that the quote was valid until 31/3, which was the exact date I returned.
This experience has been extremely disappointing, as I acted in good faith based on the information given to me. Unfortunately, the lack of clear communication and failure to honor the agreed terms have left me questioning the dealership's professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction. I would advise others to get all terms explicitly clarified in writing before proceeding with any agreements here.

Car went in for curing a job under guarantee and due to unavailability of part, teh job took 36 hours. Was told that the car had been road tested but when I took it away, the problem still occurred. Went back to re-book in and the earliest it could be done was 17.4.25. , three weeks ahead due to lack of a courtesy car.

I looked at the vehicle online and thought it looked great so paid a deposit then spoke to the sales team before purchasing the vehicle.
Having travelled excitedly to the garage we noted a few marks on the exterior of the vehicle which were cleaned by the sales executive. We picked up the vehicle and travelled home with minimal fuel in the vehicle when leaving the site.
On arriving home we noted that the interior of the vehicle was filthy with marks on the seats and headcloth, sticky surfaces and lack of vacuuming. The rear heater control was damaged with only one section of the direction lever present. Where were the quality control checks?
Overall, disappointing standard of preparation.
