Bought a car outright at the beginning of December. Paid for the extended warranty and cancelled it the following day. Was told I'd receive the £795 refund within 6 days. I am still waiting. I received no reply to my recent emails, nor my ticketed complaint. Ive noticed someone else had similar issues further down the reviews but received their refund within 9 days. Ive now been waiting 6 weeks and have had to result to asking my bank to step in to help. Great service when they are getting a sale. Couldnt care less once you drive away.

Hard work to deal with.Searched for a car on their web site, the contact telephone number is obscured by a banner that can not be moved.Found an external number, called it and it rang out.Completed an online form and received a text to say somebody would call me,but nobody did.Very strange sales marketing process?? Either understaffed,or very poorly managed.

Took a vehicle on finance on the 19th of October and had nothing but issues since collection. The vehicle was off the road for 3 weeks in December and has since been returned, but the work we advised of doesn’t seem to be done, and have not received clarity on what has been completed despite requesting. Being heavily pregnant and being without a reliable vehicle is extremely stressful and worrying. Emails have been sent back and forth, and we are getting nowhere. It gets passed to the after sales team and then nothing. Really unhappy with the service since collecting the vehicle.

Disappointing customer service. Car went in for its yearly service and the locking wheel nut wasn't returned. I went back to the dealership to ask if they could find it and the person I spoke to said the technician who worked on my car isn't in but they'll get back to me early next week, they also came to the car to check if they could find it, which they couldn't. The dealership didn't contact me the week after and they never picked up the phone on the service line despite trying several times over the course of a few days. A family member went on my behalf to follow up and they were told again to check the car - unsurprisingly they couldn't find the locking nut either. They went back the day after to be told the dealership can't do much about it but here's a website that you can use to purchase a replacement.
Now the money it costs to replace the locking wheel nut isn't really the problem I have, it's the fact that it was left out for the mechanic to use if they needed and it wasn't returned after the service. The dealership could have said 'you've come to us five years in a row to have your car serviced, we'll get you a replacement' instead they gave me the run around and told me multiple times to check my car as if I'm a simpleton that doesn't know how to look for things in my own car. Is it really that far fetched that a dealership loses a component considering how many cars they deal with?
It's unfortunate because I like my Hyundai and I like the brand but I'll certainly not use Evans Halshaw Hyundai Leeds again and I'll tell friends and family to avoid them also.

Poor customer service at Evans Halshaw Hyundai Leeds. Amy Graydon invoiced my car service with the wrong mileage and also wrote the wrong mileage in the service book. When I asked for a corrected invoice with the actual mileage, she said it would be changed in the system but refused to provide a new invoice.
When I asked to speak to a superior, I was told only the manager could issue a refund and create a new invoice, but the manager is on annual leave until 29 December. On top of this, I was not provided with my MOT certificate.
This has left me with incorrect service records and missing documents, with no proper solution offered. Very frustrating and unprofessional experience.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Evans Halshaw Leeds and Evans Halshaw Leicester has been so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it.
I purchased a Volvo XC60 from Evans Halshaw Leeds on 9th October 2025. Within six days, the car went into limp mode, showed multiple warning lights, and became undriveable. This was my wife’s only transport for work and school runs, and she was effectively stuck at home.
The vehicle was collected on 22nd October and taken to Volvo Leicester.
From this point on, the service from both Leeds and Leicester was consistently poor:
1. Almost no communication
We were left repeatedly chasing for updates, often getting no response or incomplete information.
We had to contact Volvo Leicester ourselves to even find out the vehicle’s status.
2. Mismanagement and confusion
When my wife travelled to collect the vehicle, nobody was expecting her, despite arrangements being confirmed.
No one could provide any paperwork, no explanation of the fault codes, and no confirmation of the work carried out.
3. Ongoing issues
When she started the car after collection, the rain sensor failure immediately reappeared on the dashboard — meaning the issue had not been resolved.
4. Lack of basic due diligence
We have since discovered that the car’s last service was on 21/11/24, which means it was overdue for service before being sold to us, something Evans Halshaw should have identified and corrected before selling the vehicle.
5. Lack of professionalism
Across both Leeds and Leicester, the communication, organisation, and customer care have been extremely poor.
At every stage, we felt like we were chasing, asking basic questions, and trying to manage the process ourselves — something no customer should have to do, especially after the car fails within the first week.
6. Finance company now involved
ALPHERA Financial Services are now having to handle the situation because the dealership failed to communicate properly or resolve matters in a reasonable timeframe.
Summary
A car that failed within six days, minimal customer service, no clear communication, incorrect or missing paperwork, unresolved faults, and the vehicle not being serviced prior to sale. This experience with Evans Halshaw Leeds and Evans Halshaw Leicester has been deeply frustrating, stressful, and unprofessional from start to finish.
I cannot recommend either branch based on this experience.

Regards getting a car serviced this place is a bit like my doctor's; absolutely no fault with the very professional service received, just difficult to get a convenient appointment time.

Second time I've had to resort to reviewing them.
We have a lease car that is under warranty. We've had nothing but issues getting support with car faults covered by the warranty. Expect us to wait 3 months for a diagnostic appointment.
Been waiting 8 days for them to contact us back about a service appointment.
In more than 3 years we've had bad experience after bad experience.
