Waited at the garage while service and MOT were carried out, everything done within three hours.

An absolute disgrace of a service department. Avoid this place at all costs. I brought my Renault Rafale in for a standard software update recommended by the manufacturer. This exact update was done seamlessly by other dealerships twice before. Here? The technician supposedly tried 4 times and failed, clearly showing a total lack of technical competence.
​The management and customer service are even worse. I was promised a courtesy car and left waiting until the last minute. At 17:00, I was simply told the car wouldn't be ready. The manager made pathetic excuses, claiming he couldn't even generate the booking link because he was talking to me, while his staff sat around doing absolutely nothing. Nobody even bothered to introduce themselves professionally.
​Despite completely stranding me, not a single person offered to book or pay for a taxi. Their broken promises disrupted our work schedules and forced us to spend a fortune on taxis throughout the night and the next day just to get to the airport and back to the dealership.
​Looking at the other reviews here, it's clear this branch has a systemic problem with management and competence. It’s easily one of the worst-rated services in the country for a reason. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, take your car somewhere else.

The service I paid for was 56 points check, MOT and service. When booking my MOT/service I requested that 56 points check should be done first if there is any fault found, I am ready to fix it before MOT, the customer service that book me in for MOT accepted my request.

Then, when I brought my car on 22/06/2026 to office I reminded them about my request and the receptionist still accepted my request without objection, then towards afternoon time the service department called and told me that everything is done including MOT with so many adversary which is what I am avoiding. As a matter of fact I feel defrauded, because MOT and 56 points check was run together at the same time meanwhile I paid for both services.

The main problem is I am not been respected as customer, they are doing what will benefit them not for the customers. I feel embarrassed right there when the receptionist told me is not their way of service, because they never give me clear explanation of their methods of service.

When I complain to the receptionist, he was proofing right without any sign of apology. That's why I rate them 1 star, but yesterday they called me and was like been sorry for their actions.

Had a great day at the classic car event today, some beautiful older Aston Martins & stunning not so old ones. Beautiful Porsche’s, Ferrari’s & Lamborghini’s with a stunning Hurricane in bright orange. Car of the day for me though was the Renault 5 GT Turbo which brought back some good memories of my younger days.
Entertaining to watch my son Calvin on the simulator going round Knockhill & he did win a mug for going round in 45sec, well done son.

I would not recommend Evans Halshaw Edinburgh to anyone. I recently bought a used car, we paid the deposit and signed the paperwork ready to pick up the car the next week. In the meantime, the car had been involved in an accident in the forecourt, with the driver side paintwork and trim scuffed and scratched, and the spare key held together with sellotape and with no actual key inside. It was only when I showed them the damage was anything mentioned or solutions suggested.

After discussion it was agreed the problems would be fixed. However, the customer services was utterly appalling from the used car team. I had to ring up at least three time to arrange for the paintwork to be fixed, each time being promised a call back.

When eventually the car was booked in, which took at least a month, I took half a day holiday and drove over to Edinburgh from Glasgow and worked for four hours in the showroom reception. The car got mended but not completely as a part was needed. It took the next 4 months to get the car sorted and a new spare key ordered. But again it took three months to get the key and it coded to the car.

Again multiple calls to the team were required as no body bothered to call me back, requiring calls every day at some point. Eventually my husband took over trying to get this sorted because I was working away frequently. He suffered the same problem, promises of a call back and then hearing absolutely nothing back. The staff even played my own conversations with the team against him, suggesting they would let me know via email when they had heard back from the part supplier, when in fact this was categorically not what was agreed.
To say I am unhappy is an understatement and would never use this branch again.

My car was picked up from my house for its annual service and returned in just over a couple of hours. Excellent service and staff always friendly and polite.

I recently had a major service and MOT completed at Evans Halshaw Renault Edinburgh West under my service plan. However, my car was not valet cleaned after the service. When I enquired about this with the service advisor, I was told that the valet clean is provided only as a complimentary service. This was disappointing, as I had expected a better overall customer experience.

I had to push to get the problem resolved

We went to Evans Halshaw Edinburgh. Kelvin and his manager were really good. We bought 8 cars via Evans Halshaw years ago, so we suggested our son buy from them too.
We now always pay for our cars to be re-serviced as soon as we take ownership, so we arranged for this car to be serviced. And it was the first time our mechanic actually said had been recently serviced.
I genuinely would consider buying a car from this company again.

Absolute crooks! Avoid this business at all cost. Rude, arrogant, liars and money grabbing fraudsters. Selling faulty cars to vulnerable pensioners. AVOID AVOID AVOID
