I went to discuss the deal because James called me and requested to come in person to discuss the best deal. Sales manager Jack came to explain the offer. I asked for a test drive for Mokka, and he refused for the test drive saying. I will take the test drive and may not buy the car from them. This is very poor service. People take the test drive, and then only they can decide whether to buy or not ? I would not recommend anyone to go to this dealer.

At the end of June I bought a second hand car from this garage and after two days the gear box was being faulty.
I took it in to be looked at and the clutch was changed, with no improvement to the gears. Even though the car was still faulting every time I changed gears, I was told to "keep driving to make it worse" so they could find the fault.
After taking ages for the Nottigham branch to approve me taking it to the Cardiff branch to get a second opinion I was told I was wasting there time and that there wasn't a fault and belittling me. Only after 4 days of me trying and having to get a male to call in and speak to the manager did they admit that the car needed a whole new gear box.
After multiple calls to the Nottigham branch I was never given an apology and had very rude responses with being persistent to get the fault fixed before the warranty was up. Now I am trying to return the car, the manager is still avoiding my calls and emails.
Awful customer service from both the Nottingham Branch, and the Cardiff Branch with no care for their customers and particularly rude to females. Do not recommend being a car from this garage.

I'm naturally cautious when buying a used car so thought I'd try a larger dealer rather than the smaller ones I have used for the last few cars I've bought. I found a Corsa online at Evans Halshaw, made a request for a test drive and took it from there.
I dealt with Alex Jacques at the Nottingham branch and he took me out for the test drive and then through all my various options for purchase. When I made my final decision to go ahead, Alex was there to dot the i's and cross the t's.
My only issue was that on the test drive a warning light came on. This was supposed to have been dealt with by pick up day but wasn't, and today (20 August), 5 weeks later, the issue has been resolved (the delay being down to me in contacting and booking in for the fix, not Evans Halshaw). Quick and simple fix and I'm happy. So far it's a great car and I'm happy with both Evans Halshaw and Alex in particular.

Good reception, booking easy, service information good, and mot completed. Would have had a 5 star but booked in at 9.00, told it would be ready by 12.00 at latest. Sat in reception area from 11.30 but car was not ready until 2.15. It had been given a complimentary wash and clean

Nice enough sales people but i was very concerned that when talking about the deal to buy a ne car that all the extra ad on items were already pre loaded into the agreement. good job i noticed and when i asked about it the salesperson said "we have to offer these items", when i pushed back and said you havent offered ne them youve automatically included them, and if i hadnt noticed he would not have told me about them. he then went into hard sell mode as i was paying cash for the car and i supose he needed his extra commishion. it would have been much better if he had spoken to me about these items (which added almost £1000 to the bill) once the deal was done instead of just including them. i didnt continue with the deal as i lost trust in them shook hands and left, - had an email later offering me mor money for my PX to get the deal no thanks

Had my car in for the Citroen airbag recall. Despite a challenging time getting hold of the parts due to the demand, Rebecca at Evans Halshaw was amazing throughout, keeping my updated and being very friendly on the day. Great work by the mechanics too as this airbag recall must be a nightmare for them. Thanks Team Evans Halshaw!

I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, but in this case, I felt I had no other choice. If nothing else, I hope this helps someone avoid making the same mistake I did.
I purchased my car a few years ago, along with a premium guarantee. A few months into owning the vehicle, I began experiencing issues with the electric parking brake button, which eventually stopped working entirely — to the extent that it would fail an MOT.
I booked the vehicle in at Evans Halshaw. Despite having both a warranty and guarantee in place, I was told I would need to pay for diagnostics and repairs. Initially, they replaced the parking brake button and returned the car to me, but this did not resolve the issue. I was once again left with a car that wasn’t roadworthy. Worse still, the car was returned with more issues than it had when I brought it in.
This meant the original parking brake issue still remained, and the car would not pass its MOT. As a result, I was effectively left without a usable vehicle as the MOT was due to expire. After days of back and forth, I managed to bring the car back in, only to be charged again for diagnostics and repairs.
Eventually, they were able to fix the issue — but once again, I had to pay because the specific fault was apparently “not covered” under the warranty. Conveniently, warranty wording meant a very specific fault was excluded from coverage.
After that, I continued to experience issues with the vehicle. I returned to Evans Halshaw, but these concerns were dismissed. Staff claimed there were no faults, despite the recurring problems I’d documented. I have a long list of issues I’ve faced, yet they insisted the car was fine.
More recently, the car broke down, likely due to the same unresolved issues. I attempted to use the recovery service included with the premium guarantee, only to be told that recovery only comes out once per incident and doesn’t transport cars to mechanics outside of working hours. This caused me significant inconvenience.
When I finally got the car to the dealership, I asked about the courtesy car promised in the premium guarantee. I was told these need to be booked about a month in advance — essentially suggesting that I should pre-plan vehicle breakdowns. This felt like false advertising, as the promise of a courtesy car was a key reason I purchased the guarantee in the first place.
Throughout this entire ordeal, the staff have been unhelpful, misleading, and in recent cases, outright rude and unprofessional — including branch managers. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this dealership.
To make matters worse, the dealership kept my car overnight without informing me. This left me unable to arrange alternative transport for work the following day. I called that evening for an update and was told everyone had gone home, but that I would receive a call first thing in the morning.
I waited for hours the next day with no call, so I contacted them myself. I was told the car was booked for repair on Thursday, and then was told a different issue had been identified. Nothing made sense — every person I spoke to gave a different story.
I asked to speak to a manager. He tried to defend the situation, falsely claiming that someone had called me that morning. This was not true — I had made the call myself and have proof of that. He also told me he was in the office the previous night when I called, which raises the question: why was I told everyone had gone home?
The manager then claimed I had been informed when I dropped the vehicle off that it wouldn’t be looked at until Thursday. I wasn’t told this — had I been, I would have taken the car elsewhere, as I needed it repaired urgently. He also claimed we had discussed the Thursday timeline on the phone — we hadn’t. Our conversation was solely about courtesy cars and finance options. That’s now two staff members blatantly lying to avoid accountability.
At this point, I’m being lied to repeatedly, and no one is being honest with me. Eventually, I’m told the car is ready to be collected and that the only issue was a flat battery. I drive the car regularly, and the breakdown service that inspected it suspected a BCM (Body Control Module) issue — the very issue Evans Halshaw previously dismissed.
The manager denied this and insisted the car had been repaired. This company employs unprofessional staff, and to make matters worse, their complaints process is unclear and unhelpful, to the point where it seems near impossible to make a complaint at all.

My car was due a service. I had just had foot surgery. They arranged for my car to be collected, by a wonderful man, Ben. I was kept up to date on the progress of my car, and told that Ben was on his way.to me. It was returned in perfect condition, even a clean inside and out.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL AT EVANS HELSHAW NOTTINGHAM.

Really poor customer service.
The car itself is fine so far but we won't ever be buying from this dealership again. The whole process was unprofessional, incompetent and we were left feeling frustrated.
Booked an appointment and reserved a vehicle online - vehicle was not ready when we showed up to the appointment. When we had finally test driven and were happy with the car we had to listen to 3 levels of upsells (and just wait, there's another after you've purchased the vehicle which is better value than one of the original upsells).
Had to wait 4 days to pick up vehicle (which is fine), had an appointment booked and told we didn't need to pay anymore than what we already had (also fine). Then on the day of collection we were rung and asked to come in earlier (not okay) and asked why we weren't paid (not okay) and when asked for the payment information which hadn't been sent over to us to pay early (very not okay) Chris didn't do it until after I'd rung again hours later and spoken to a manager. We would have happily sorted this out before the day when we had to scramble to do this at work!
When we finally got there we felt very rushed (as he wanted to squeeze in another appointment). We weren't shown the screen during the taxing of the vehicle so he was just inputting our card details in a manner we couldn't see and there was no time allowed for extra questions or for us to fully read the information presented. However, plenty of time was given for the fourth upsell spiel.
The car absolutely stinks of acetone (which it did not on test drive day), the 'valet' was poor (rubbish left in the vehicle, water streaks on the car so clearly not polished). Worst of all - we were told the service book was in the car only to find out it's nowhere and now the garage doesn't know where it is! Devaluing the vehicle! We still haven't got the service book and user manual despite having asked for it on the day.
We had also asked about modifications, told there were none and found that there were in fact modifications we've had to now remove (edge visors).
Don't even get me started on the mess of a car park.

Booked my car in for m o t and service with this company which I have a monthly plan with. I spoke to a representative who informed me my car could be collected and returned if that was my choice which it was. Car was collected on time, I recieved a call to let me know the outcome and my car was returned after approx 6 hours all cleaned inside and out. I had an e.mail with a video of the work carried out and any advisories. I found staff very friendly and everything went smoothly. I would recommend Evan Halshaw.
