Outstanding customer service from drop off to pickup. From video check allowing you to know what repairs required, to being kept updated on progress of repairs by receptionist.

Excellent customer service when my car was in for a service. Kept up to date with a health check carried out at the same time. My car was washed and hoovered before I was given a call to say it was ready for collection, all done in a timely manner. Thank you!

Car booked in for an MOT and a health check. Health check was done before the MOT to be able to give me the heads up on anything that could be wrong. It was also done as a priority as I needed the car back before midday.

Had a couple of issues with the car I bought and when raised I received a slot for repair straight away and was issued a courtesy car whilst car was repaired. EH has dealt with all queries from me in a courteous manner. Would highly recommend. Great service.

Fabulous service from all the staff at Kilmarnock. They looked after us, and did the service affa quick. They pushed on due to us living so far away so we get home early.

I bought a Ford Focus from Evans Halshaw Kilmarnock on 27th February. I live in Dalkeith but saw the car online. Rather than buy without viewing it I reserved it and arranged to go see it with my friend. It took some 90 mins to drive there so my main worry was the distance should anything go wrong with it, but the salesman Gary assured me that the group had 2 garages in Edinburgh, one at Baileyfield and one in the west of the city where I could go for repairs during the 3 month warranty period. I asked if it had a spare or temporary tyre but was told it had an injection kit instead. I later discovered it did have a temporary tyre. I had intended to print the car's extensive tech spec from their website but discovered the ad had been taken down as soon as I reserved it so I asked Gary for a copy, which he said he would email to me. He never did, despite me asking him another twice over the next few weeks. As soon as I got home I discovered the panoramic sun blind was detached at the back at one side, which I hadn't noticed when I test drove it. When retracted it hung down behind the driver's head. Whoever at Evans Halshaw was supposed to check the car over clearly hadn't as it was clearly visible. I called Gary and he said to contact one of their two Edinburgh outlets to arrange repair and ask them to send Kilmarnock the bill. It turned out that the Baileyfield branch had been sold off some years ago, which Gary should have been aware of, and the west Edinburgh branch declined the job as they specialise in Renault, not Ford. Another call to Gary and he emailed back to say he'd spoken to his boss who said I could go to my local Ford garage and ask for the bill sent again to Kilmarnock. My local Ford dealer wouldn't do this and said no Ford garage would and I'd have to pay the bill upfront. Another call to Gary and he said he'd speak to his boss again. I didn't hear from him for 4 days so called back and he was very short with me saying he'd already emailed me to say I could go to my local Ford dealer. I had to remind him that I'd replied to that email saying they wouldn't do the repair unless I paid and he'd said he would speak to his manager again and get back to me, which he hadn't, at which point he realised his mistake and changed his tone saying he was getting his customers mixed up but he didn't apologise. He spoke to his boss yet again and he arranged for me to go to a Ford dealership in Kirkcaldy. I had to make the 43 mile round trip twice - once to have the repair assessed and then to have the repair carried out over 2 days. The first time I spent a couple of hours in the showroom waiting for a friend to pick me up and asked one of the salesmen if there was a website I could get my car's spec from as I had asked the EH salesman 3 times and he hadn't even acknowledged my request the last twice, so I had no idea of the car's tech capabilities. He spoke to his colleague and they used the reg to download its spec from their website. It turns out the car is top of the range tech-wise and has just about everything they could throw at it including a Bang and Olufsen sound system so that explained a lot. They couldn't understand why the EH salesman hadn't gone through the whole list with me as they spend at least an hour with each customer doing just that. I had even called Gary at one point to say I thought the central locking wasn't working as the car wasn't locking with the remote and he thought for a minute and said, if you're standing outside it with the key in your hand it might have keyless entry, which it turns out it did. I didn't know and apparently neither did he. I'd had my previous Focus for over 10 years so I had no clue about new car technology. Luckily I haven't had any more problems with the car but now that my warranty has run out I want to forewarn people not to go to this company if they can avoid it. The car hadn't been properly checked or cleaned (there were cup rings in the centre console!), the after sales service was abysmal, the salesman spoke down to me when I asked for help and didn't do his job properly, he misinformed me about there being a Baileyfield Edinburgh branch, which he must have known doesn't exist any more, and about the spare tyre, and was borderline rude. I got the impression that they had my money so the level of service was dropped. I love my car but it took a while to get to know what it could do because of their poor sales service. Thank goodness for Ford in Kirkcaldy, they were amazing. So I definitely do not recommend Evans Halshaw in Kilmarnock - to be avoided at all costs.

Great experience at the branch. Shaun was helpful getting the car we were interested in and getting the paper work done quickly and within two days we had the car and extremely happy with it. Shaun made sure everything was ready and in running order. Can't recommend enough

My vehicle underwent its third EMAC service. On this occasion I had my vehicle collected and returned to my home address. I was notified the day before as a reminder that my vehicle was being collected, when and by whom. Vehicle was collected at stated time. I further received a call from the service desk explaining that my vehicle needed front tyres, discs and pads replacement. This was highlighted from a previous service. I was informed of the full costs and that my vehicle was ready after a wash and vac (complimentary). From start to finish my dealings with the service rep (Linda Coupland) were first class and very transparent. You honestly could not ask for better. I would add that my vehicle has been service by this outlet since I had the car from new. Never had any issues and always made to feel welcome. I can recommended this dealership.

I recently purchased a car from Evans Halshaw, Shiremoor, Newcastle. Unfortunately, the car developed a problem after 2 weeks. Initially, I had a problem getting the car accepted for repair. I contacted Mr Coates, sales Manager at Evans Halshaw, Shiremoor, frustrated at inaction. I asked about the process to return the car and get my money back, a serious decision. Mr Coates failed to return my call or reply to my emails. The car has since been repaired, thanks to EH, Kilmarnock. This demonstrates poor quality of management at Shiremoor who think that - if you ignore the customer, they'll go away. I'm sure Evans Halshaw are better than this, however, buying a car should be a pleasurable experience. On this occasion, anything but.

I’ve used Evans Halshaw - Kilmarnock for a good few years now. My car needed work but as I live quite a distance away, when I phoned to make the appointment, it was arranged that my car would be collected and delivered back to me when the work was done. The driver was punctual and friendly both when he arrived to collect the car and deliver it back. It was easy to pay online and the whole process was really straightforward

Took my cars here for quite a while now and the service is top drawer. Always polite and courteous, lots of information up front and videos sent through the phone about the initial assessment. The always help out when they can with prices too. Cannot fault the place and especially good if you have a Nissan as they have a mechanic who is a specialist. Highly recommended.

We found a used car at this branch that we wanted, but on inspection it smelt of cigarette smoke. The staff assured is it would be fully valeted, 'fogged' and the smell removed - with this in mind, we trusted them to do a good job and took their word and bought the car.
After a short weeks trip away the smell returned, along with some other issues, we took the car back to be re valeted and have a noise on the air con fixed.
On collection, there was still a smell lingering, and the aircon noise still remained, we were told it was a leaf in the blower, but once i demonstrated it to the mechanic he instantly knew it needed regassing which led me to believe no one actually checked in the first place.
Over the next couple of weeks the smell returned, we could not get rid of it. We tried bottles of febreze, air con treatments, vaxing, valeting - no matter what we did, the smell returned - it was engrained into this car.
Everytime we used the car, it triggered allergies and gave us sore throats, so In the end, we could not tolerate being in this car any longer so have now sold it after less than three months of ownership at a loss, at a better price to the dealer group opposite, than EH offered us (they were great and will be getting their own positive review)
Evans Halshaw should *never* have retailed this car - it was not acceptable to sell a car that smelt of smoke, we were fools for trusting them to get rid of the smell before buying it.
Overall it was a terrible experience for us. EH did try to rectify the situation, but we wont be buying from them again.
