Buying this car has turned into a nightmare from start to finish. Within a short time of purchasing the vehicle, warning lights and sensor fault messages started appearing. Soon afterwards, the car developed serious driving issues, including vibration, poor acceleration, and struggling to drive uphill. This was not what anyone would reasonably expect from a vehicle that had just been purchased.
When we contacted the dealer, we received no meaningful help whatsoever. We were simply told to contact the warranty company because they “don’t do repairs.” From that point on, we were left to deal with the problem entirely on our own.
It took nearly two months to get the vehicle properly diagnosed. We were then informed by specialists that the clutch required replacement. After endless back-and-forth with the warranty company, they agreed to pay only half of the repair costs, leaving us to face a substantial bill for a fault that appeared shortly after purchase.
What made this experience even worse was the dealership’s attitude. Every garage we spoke to advised us to contact the dealer because the vehicle had been purchased less than six months earlier. However, when we visited the dealership, we were met with complete indifference. A member of staff stood there vaping, smirked while we explained the situation, and told us nobody could help because the person responsible for after-sales, Noel, was not available. We were promised a call the following day.
Nobody called.
After repeatedly chasing the dealership, we eventually managed to speak to Noel. The conversation was shocking. From the moment he answered, his attitude was rude, dismissive, and confrontational. There was no interest in understanding the problem, no attempt to find a solution, and absolutely no concern for a customer who had spent thousands of pounds with the business. Instead, we were told it was “wear and tear,” that they would not help, and that we should “do what you have to do.”
That statement perfectly sums up our experience with this dealership.
The issue is not just the faulty vehicle. Mechanical problems can happen with any car. The real problem is the complete lack of accountability once the sale is completed. Customer service disappears, promises are not kept, calls are not returned, and legitimate concerns are brushed aside.
We have wasted months dealing with faults, garage appointments, warranty disputes, stress, inconvenience, and unexpected costs, only to be treated with disrespect and disregard by the people who sold us the vehicle.
Based on our experience, I would never buy another car from this dealership and would strongly advise others to think very carefully before handing over their money. If you expect honesty, support, or professionalism when problems arise, you may be very disappointed.

Bought a ford 2015 with only 20,000 miles mid November 2025
Automatic gear clutch started failing only 2 months later, we sought a garage, to find out it needs changing for £2000, unfortunately we bought an RAC warranty for 1 year for £350 by the same dealer, to find out that it only covers £1000, which was not mentioned when they sold us the warranty.
Went to the dealer and explained everything and that it is as per consumer rights act we deserve a total reimbursement within the first 6 months and they promised a call on the next day. I called the following day because I received no call to be contacted by Noel which was disrespectful to us and told us to seek the legal route, which I am starting while I am writing this review.
I don’t advise at all.
I've had my car 9 months
I've had my car 9 months, had a full mot on it, first the door handle broke, the wipers wont wash, last month cost me £450 for new clutch, now 3 weeks after that i have to have suspension arm fixed because in the words of a mechanic, its knackered. Read the reviews before you buy.

My daughter in law bought a car from hear must be a bent mot as the brakes are nearly none existent could have killed her she has tried to get help the bumper fell off after 2 days no help what so ever if I could give it a 0 stars that would still be to high if you buy from hear after looking at all the negative reviews they are selling death traps you have been warned and they made her make a fake review before she bought it
Avoid these cowboys
Sold my wife a car, after 2 and a half weeks the clutch went. When she called they said its wear and tear and not covered. Wear and tear after 2 weeks? What a joke! They made sure to push the RAC cover though. Makes sense in hindsight.
PLEASE AVOID! Go and see your local second hand dealer first, you'll get treated better.
Absolute joke.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Absolutely appalling business! I'm annoyed I have to give it even a 1 Star because it doesn't deserve any! I wish we had read the reviews before we bought from this cowboy dealership! The gearbox on our car went in the first few months to find that it had been bodged and secured with wire to hold it in place! Major fault and let me husband drive it away in that condition knowing we had 4 small children. Had the nerve to refuse to fix it because my own local garage took too long to give them a quote! Very rude and arrogant with staff that had the audacity to tell me it was just a car and not worry about and needed a TV because we have too many kids. He wouldn't be saying that if he was paying 10 Grand for a car that was sold with a major fault. It's harsh to now see all these bad reviews backing up the fact they've done it to a great deal of people. I wouldn't believe a single word they say, especially Nole and Dave!
DO NOT buy from this dealership !
DO NOT buy from this dealership !! Bought a car 2 months ago been in garage 4 times already. Never ending faults popping up. I asked for a refund or exchange and they wouldn't so now I'm stuck with a car I need to keep spending money on. Wish I saw all the google reviews before I went there. AVOID !!!
Very disappointing
Very disappointing. We bought a car which was found to have serious safety defects which were known to Excellent Cars at the time of purchase. They offered to repair the car. This resulted in it being returned to me with the original faults not cured and an even more serious condition (a serious fire risk) was introduced. It took my bringing a legal claim which they denied until close to their appearance in court where they settled in full.
They scammed my 72 year old father
They scammed my 72 year old father. Late last year my Dad trusted this company and made the trip all the way from Northamptonshire to South Yorkshire to pick up a Renault Scenic that was listed.
Soon after issues became apparent including noises from the back axel. He was told, over the phone of course, that if he took the car in the company would pay for half of the repairs.
When Dad did take the car in, a lot more issues were found that Excellent Cars had not mentioned;
There's an issue with the gearbox.
The seat adjuster on the driver side was stuck on with blue tac.
One of the window wipers was held in place with a screw.
Dad asked for a refund, which was refused. They drove the car back from the garage and left it at his house.
The car has now broken down on the road completely, and the garage has told him it's not economically repairable.
Before this happened, I pointed out to my Dad the low trust pilot scores. When questioned, Excellent Cars told him it was just "jealous" rival companies. The truth is, this company cannot be trusted, and you should avoid at all costs. They took advantage of my 72 year old Dad, and they will do the same to you if they get the chance.
Do Not Recommend. Go elsewhere
Shocking! Bought a vehicle that had supposedly had an mot a month prior to buying, after 12 weeks of owning the vehicle, the clutch had gone. All brake pads had worn to nothing ( no advisory on mot), radiator needed replacing due to a leak, one of the rear suspension springs was found to be upside down, and then to top it off rear control arm snapped, and the other was severely cracked! Nearly causing a major accident on the M1 when it went. None of the above was advised on the previous mot. Which Is extremely unlikely to not have been picked up on.. head gasket also blown in the last few weeks so the car is sat useless after me financing the vehicle, and then also spending extreme amounts of cash on getting it running over and over. I now have no lively hood due to not being able to travel and having a car I psychically can't repair. They should be a law on this sort of behavior.
Avoid at all costs
Was sold a car for just over 12k that was strategically parked against a wall so I couldn’t see it had been crashed into on the side, 4 dints all along the side that I had only seen after driving it home. Had to take it back for them to ‘fix it’, still not perfect and pain splats all over the alloys they had to replace, not to mention I was given a shocking 2005 Honda jazz as a courtesy car… lied on the advert about mileage, said it had alloys which were infact wheeltrims, said has been in no accidents which it obviously had. Aircon needs doing, breaks need doing… just shocking customer service, cannot relay information to eachother correctly on multiple occasions and had me stood waiting 20+ minutes. Noel was ok to deal with but Karen on the other hand, very rude and unprofessional, customers should not be called ‘babes’ common as muck. Wish I would have read the reviews and stayed clear.
Wouldn't use these guys at all
Wouldn't use these guys at all, they sell dodgey cars that end up needing thousand pound plus worth of repairs. Once you have the car there is no after care what so ever and the staff are extremely rude and tell you to take them to court.
Put the review on Facebook to be blocked so they can hide what they are doing!! Avoid at all cost.
Just enquired about a car.
Just enquired about a car.
They don’t actually sell the car advertised on Autotrader, and want to sell you the one pictured at a higher price.
They’re conning Autotrader by trying to advertise several cars under one advertisement.
They also try to get a £50 holding fee.
Told them sorry, but not interested.
Evil scumbags
Evil scumbags! Sold my young daughter a death trap so many issues £6000 for a mk4 Clio 0.9 coolant leak so overheated straight away but the worst issue was the nearside front wheel fell off after a few days! Luckily she was setting off from traffic lights so only going 5MPH at the time If it would have come off on the motorway it would have caused a pile up! Once again EVIL scumbags.
Avoid this company at all costs
Avoid this company at all costs. I spent £8000 on a car after having some amazing sales patter from Dave. Who would know what the truth was if it him in the face. I know have a repair bill of £2500, after speaking to the manager Noel about this what he did was to put the phone done half way through the complaint.
ROBBING B*STARDS
I’d give them 0 if I could. Absolutely robbing b*stards. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Car broke within a week of buying it (for £3485) they prey on vulnerable people.
