Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service, had booked an app to view cars, walked into the showroom took 20 minutes to be greeted by someone who said they were just pulling a car in and would be with us in a sec, 20 mins later came over and said they were collecting someone and wouldn’t be long. After standing in the showroom 50 mins I walked out
Avoid at all costs!!
Finance was arranged and the not so Excellent cars had the vehicle for 2 weeks before I could get to pick it up, they told me they had plenty of time to prep the vehicle for my collection. When I did go get it, it was absolutely disgusting, it was unbelievably filthy, smelt like a sewer and had numerous faults. I contacted them and arranged for the car to be returned so they could investigate. 7 days passed and I'd heard nothing, after speaking with the broker, I decided to reject the car outright, under the Consumer Rights act 2015. That's when the real problem's and lies started, they, along with the finance company decided to reject my complaint due to me accepting a courtesy car, which I had for 5 days, they said this revoked my rights. I had to report this to the Financial Ombudsman, who after 4 months found in my favour and upheld my complaint. I have since had the finance package cancelled, had my bank cancel and refund the deposits I made via my debit card, but Excellent cars are now playing up and refusing to pay back the deposit amount I paid in cash. I have now threatened them with small claims court. I reported that the air conditioning, that the car was advertised of having, wasn't working, their Arthur Daley styled salesman told me they don't cover air conditioning! the alloys where dented, chunks missing and scratched beyond repair, the heater wasn't working, the water pump and thermostat weren't working, it had huge grooves in brake discs, had bald tyres, the wiper blades fell off, the bonnet was incorrectly seated on top of the glass headlamp cluster, the interior plastics where scratched, the glass windows where scratched, the bodywork was dented and scratched. This was a 4 year old car that was more like a 20 year old wreck. It was bought remotely and I picked it up when it was pitch black at around 19.30 on a Friday evening in November. I returned the car the following Monday.
Please please be ultra aware of this company, they sell dodgy vehicles and wash their hands of you once they have your cash.
You have been warned
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!!
I bought a Clio (white 2014) end September 20 costing £6000 after 2 days notice an oil leak, so took it back and they had it almost 1 week. A couple of days after picking it up had another oil leak worse than before where they had to come and have it picked up on a truck, which took almost 2 weeks to repair.
Then in December it started to smell of burning and all the warning lights came on and lost its power. I had to get the finance company involved and they sent an independent assessor who said it had so many issues it may need a new engine.
The finance company had to fight them all the way and I finally got my money back last week (end March) but they sent me a cheque for my deposit.
Please, please avoid if you value your money and sanity, as its been one of the worst experiences of my life!!!
" Poor service, no people skills"
I purchased a white VW Polo for my daughter approx 4 weeks ago; my son and daughter travelled from London to Sheffield to collect, when they arrived the salesman Noel tried to scam them saying the price advertised was for a green Golf and not for the Polo, trying to acquire another £400 extra. My son was stern telling him you cannot treat people and scam people like that and said if he didn't sell us the vehicle as advertised they would return back to London without the car; the rogue salesman relented and the car was purchased. We also paid an extra £199 for 6 months warranty, I was perplexed as to why it didn't have warranty anyway. The vehicle has now encountered issues - break fluid has all leaked out because the cylinder was broken; we contacted Noel yesterday, he dismissed the matter saying we will have to contact RAC Warranty and that it now has nothing to do with him; my daughter tried various departments in RAC to speak with someone and she was passed around like a flamin yoyo, they too were unhelpful; she's now taken it to her local garage to have it fixed and she will be liable to pay. We will be making a formal complaint to The Motor Ombudsman, it's ridiculous that supposed businessman can treat people so callously. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VEHICLES FROM THIS COMPANY...Scammers
Not so excellent car from excellent cars
Bought c4 picasso just before lockdown 59k on clock 9 year old clutch went in 300 miles wish i could photo the letter from them saying what do I expect buying a 9 year old car with 59k miles? Brakes failed first journey tv didn't work on collection they promised to fix it then said the maximum thdy would spend was a 40 replacement of ebay even tho i paid extra 180 for it didnt fix it told me rac inspect it cert in post they lied they was supposed to service it and didnt even tho its on my invoice was supposed to come with rac warranty and roadside assistance and I guess they couldn't be bothered, the rac dont care I would never step foot in their showroom again as there letter says they defend there decision not to repair my car
Shame there are no minus stars as one star is one too many
horrible experience
horrible experience, so many things wrong with the car I bought. After a week of buying there were problems which meant the car should not have even been on the road and they sold to me knowing the condition of the car, had to go back to Sheffield to fix. In under a year there've been so many faults with this car and from my experience they do shabby work and are crooks.
It is the best of best
Bought MG6 excellent car excellent…
Bought MG6 excellent car excellent price, garage worthy of the name. Master slave cylinder collapsed whilst under warranty car was collected and fixed with no fuss, helpful and knowledgable staff and courtesy car provided. Would recommend to anyone!
Absolute joke!
Absolute joke!! I have wasted a whole day, time is my rarest comodity and ive wasted far too much visiting these crooks who advertise two cars in one advert so when you get there they tell you the car at the price you saw is sold. The one you want is a lot more money!!
The only excellent thing about my wasted day was the salesman Terry, he was a credit to the place and a truly lovely gentlemen.
don't tell the truth.
don't tell the truth.
1. told the car had 4 previous owners.when I received the log book it had 7.
2. car advertised as a 2009 but on log book its a 2008.
3. sold with 6 months warranty still not received this phoned and e=mailed.
still not received after 3 months.
don't think they want to issue me with warranty as they would save more money.
the only proof I have about the warranty is on the final bill and the advertisement that it was for sale on 2009 plate not 2008.
Not trustworthy
Not trustworthy, cant adhere to there own policy, paid a £50 holding deposit for a 7 day period, they sold it to someone else after 4 days.
This os not the behaviour of a reputable dealer
Do not buy from these cowboys
If I could give no stars I would, so lets begin
I purchased a car from Excellent cars (also known as s&n motors ltd) on Tuesday 28th November 2017 I drove down to Sheffield to see the car after my enquiry on the Monday, I was told in a voicemail that the car was perfect drove great ( I knew it had been a CAT D) I Was assured all work had been done on the car I asked the damage that was done to the car and I was told by Dave via voicemail message ( which I have) that it was side damage to the doors on passenger side and pillar which had been fixed, so as I said I drove down and had a look at the car, I dealt with Noel on the Tuesday as It was Dave's day off pleasant enough chap who advised again the car was in perfect condition (baring in mind this is a 13 plate Ford Grand C-Max with only 16700 miles on the clock) I inspected the car and yes it did seem ok ( I am no mechanic) in there advert on Autotrader it advised the car had been mot'ed on the 23rd November so it had a full year (again giving the assurance the car was perfect) when I asked when down there to confirm I was advised it had mot until April 2018, Again I asked about the damage and was advised it was side damage to the car and Noel even showed me where there was a little mark on the passenger rear sliding door, I said yes id purchase if they put a years mot on the car which they did and it sailed through the mot apart from a faulty seat belt which they replaced from another grand C-MAX They had in stock, so again car (MOT Station has now been reported to Ministry of Transport) when I brought the car back from Sheffield I put it in to the garage local to myself to have it inspected and the knocking sound looked at (yep knocking sound and horn not working) I have now been advised today (5th Dec 2017 ) that the car was a total front end right off. not a side impact as was told (I have proof via emails and voicemail and 2 different witnesses) the horn was put back on the car upside down and only a single horn not as should be a double horn hence water getting in to the horn and well basically killing it, the knocking sound is still a work in progress at the moment (ill update this once we get to the bottom of it) the mechanics at the garage could not believe the car was on the road due to the shoddy rebuild that had been done on the car there is a load of major faults that will be updated once I have dealt with the legal side of this... Updated 6th December one of the main rattles of the car was the bolts that connect the new bodywork to the chassis of the car where not tightened properly (as garage said left loose) this in its self is a major safety concern. Drive shaft bolts where not torqued (updated 8th Dec 2017)
I spoke with Noel today (5th DEC 2017)Who had a very blazy attitude of couldnt care less as i purchased it as a cat D but under the consumer rights act of 2015 this car is not fit for the purpose and i am entitled to my full money back, i have started the legal process to make this happen. Noel advised me that he would need to speak to the company directors ( In Fact after doing a check on companies house Noel Palmer is one of the company directors) updated 8th December 2017
Excellent cars have ignored all ocrrespondence even though the car is under the 1 month warranty that every car in the uk is issued with under law, so please do not buy from these guys as they will just fob you off right left and centre
PLEASE PLEASE DO A INTERNET SEARCH ON THESE COMPANIES BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR FROM THEM AS YOU DONT WANT TO BE IN THE SAME SITUATION AS MYSELF
