Expedia Price Guarantee
We all like to get value for money, and there's nothing worse than booking a Hotel or a Flight + Hotel (when booked together) and then finding it cheaper elsewhere, so we've come up with the following guarantee:

Horror in Transylvania
1 star is being kind....had to rebook flights/hotel package with Expedia as the flights were not direct to Sibiu in Romania - got flight money refunded so asked the hotel to keep our booking to align with the flights - instead of 19th march changed to the 17th - got an email direct from the hotel confirming new dates....arrived in Sibiu 1.05am to find hotel was shut (unmanned desk) bearing in mind I had told the hotel of our flight time etc so at 3am we were checking into a new hotel in a strange city. Went back to the hotel following morning - he denied all responsibility said it was Expedia's fault - he gave us €55 as a gesture of good will....refused to stay at said hotel for our next 3 nights anyway Expedia won't budge on a refund or compensate us for our nightmare and stuck by the hotel even though they went " off platform". No point talking to customer service their replies are generic and scripted and they don't care. Wish I'd gone to Trustpilot first.
NEVER BOOK THROUGH EXPEDIA!!! AVOID.
Book a flight through them, Flight gets rescheduled, you try and apply for a refund and everytime you try to 'The server is down' or there is an error message. you speak to their customer service and they tell you there is nothing they can do because its with the airline.
Quick enough to take the money but not quick enough to give it back when things go wrong.
Would NEVER use again!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Worst holiday booking company
Worst holiday booking company. Poor communication do not respect UK law. Do not book with them. They trust Qatarairways above Foreign office travel recommendations and completely ignore the packaged travel regulations.
Writing on the screen
I enjoyed using the process for a trip to Málaga last year. I wanted to and indeed have booked a trip to Portugal for this year. The problem I have is that I only have a mobile phone and cannot write on the screen. Why can't I just write my request?
One of the worst customer service
One of the worst customer service. They literally don’t help you . I had recently had to change flight due to medical reasons. The agent assured me that my request for flight change or refund will be forwarded to airline but it never happened and the flight has flown and unfortunately due to poor customer service i have lost money.
Expedia mishandled a major flight change and tried to deny my refund
I booked an Emirates flight through Expedia, and the airline moved my first flight by 24 hours — a major involuntary schedule change. Under airline policy, this should qualify for a full refund with no fees.
Instead of helping, Expedia repeatedly claimed that I had “accepted” the schedule change, even though I never did. Their system simply marked it as accepted without my consent. I had to spend hours proving that I did NOT agree to the new itinerary and that the change made the trip impossible.
When I contacted support, multiple agents insisted I had to pay cancellation fees and that the ticket was “non‑refundable,” despite the fact the airline changed the flight by a full day. Only after pushing back repeatedly and escalating did someone finally agree to request a refund — something that should have been automatic.
This experience shows:
• Expedia’s system can incorrectly mark schedule changes as “accepted”
• Agents rely on that incorrect data instead of listening to the customer
• They initially refuse refunds even when the airline policy clearly allows one
• You have to fight hard just to get what you’re entitled to
I’m now waiting up to 72 hours for them to “request” the refund, but this should never have required a battle. If your flight gets changed, be prepared to challenge Expedia’s first response.
avoid EXPEDIA the worst experience ever
Please avoid EXPEDIA the worst experience ever the room at first was stinks in very poor condition at first night we found BED BUGS in the room and we have to leave at 1.30 am that was in Vienna, we tried to contact Expedia customer service they offered us $25 how horrible and terrible is that so be aware of that and don’t deal with them
Booked flights from Vietnam to Shanghai…
Booked flights from Vietnam to Shanghai only to have received an email telling me that there was an error and the flights were not booked, yet there were 2 transactions for both the airline and the App taken out of my account. Customer service is non existent, I cannot seem to get through to anyone who is not AI. I have never left a bad review in my life, however I am so frustrated with this situation people should be warned.
Zero stars.
Zero stars.
I was somehow able to book a property which wasn't available for rent. They took my money, left me without a callback when I arrived at an empty villa which was having works done. Utter lack of concern, let alone a replacement accommodation, simple refund or suitable compensation for a very stressful first day of holiday. I found my own last minute accommodation with Booking.com (no problems!).
I will be pursuing this case. Four days later and they still haven't sent more than auto reply to my complaint, and auto generated surveys about my "stay"! Outrageously poor system and service
Don't waste your time
Useless website. Tried to checkout 4 times and got the error "flight not available". A complete waste of half an hour. Why allow me to checkout and type all my passport details in if it's not available? What is the point of your site if you don't own any of the flight tickets yourself?
Double charged - Avoid Expedia
Avoid Expedia. I was double charged so called for refund to be told I had only been charged once - I pointed out that my credit card had 2 charges so they told me to contact bank. I raised a dispute and next thing I know Expedia are threatening to cancel my fully paid flight. Despite booking on .co.uk every time they ask me to call them they give a US phone number. I’ll never use Expedia again.
The worst agent to book flights
The worst agent to book flights. Never ever trust these fellows. It's totally a disaster!! From the start to end from booking a ticket to getting a refund.
Tried to book a city break to Budapest
Tried to book a city break to Budapest. I approved my payment via my credit card app. Expedia then advised me to try another payment method or contact my card provider.
However, my credit card was charged twice for the flights. Trying to speak to someone at Expedia is a nightmare. On phone number, you just get a computer that insists on a booking reference number, which I was never given.
Eventually got through to a human on a chat box. They asked for a screenshot of my credit card statement. I uploaded the file twice but they said they couldn't see it. They gave me a number for customer complaints which is not recognised.
I am now left with two airfares on my card which I have to dispute with my card provider. Total farce and never again will I use this vompany
Rude
Rude , rude and useless! I had to call 5 different times in order for someone to finally be able to confirm that my flight was disrupted and needed rebooking. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Cancelled our dream holiday to the…
Cancelled our dream holiday to the Maldives due to a cancelled flight. Would have been no issue to change us to a different flight on the same day but Expedia refused. The airline said it was no problem, even leaving a note on our booking and advised because it was booked through Expedia, they had to make the change. 19 hours of phone calls later, Expedia still refused leaving us no option to cancel our whole holiday with no time to rebook. Then Expedia told us we wouldn’t get our hotel costs back even though it was booked as a package!! Disgusting behaviour and company, AVOID!
I’ve had a flight cancelled due to…
I’ve had a flight cancelled due to airline and current situation which is understandable, spoke 2 different agents on different occasisons fo refund and to be told it’s all be done and you will get refund only to get an email day later telling me call got disconnected and refund hasn’t been done and to call back, every time calling back it’s an hour wait and no answer. Won’t be using again.
The most horrible experience
The most horrible experience I have ever had! They way they charge you while they canceling your booking should be investigated by regulators. They keep your money for 5-7 days, they make profit of this and then redressing you. Never again with them!
Can I give a review of ZERO star?
Can I give a review of ZERO star?? Why do I have to give them even a single star?? A return flight booked from them (SHJ-LHR-SHJ) of Qatar Airways got cancelled by the airline and I got a mail from expedia informing me of the same. They asked me to cancel the booking or rebook with some other option. I cancelled the booking and a message appeared on booking that my booking is cancelled and I will receive a refund after few weeks. No email.... No confirmation... I called them after 3 days to enquire and they were clueless.... it took a 2 hr call in which all I got was a promise that I will get the cancellation mail in 2 days time.... which I did'nt get for 5 days.... still chasing them for just a confirmation.... This website is a scam and hopefully UK government takes note of it otherwise the general public will keep on getting swindled.
Great service
Regularly book through Expedia for hotels and experiences (I prefer to book flights directly with the airline). Last week we arrived at our overseas hotel and the promised garden view room overlooked a building site. The hotel hadn't been able to move us 24 hours later so we contacted Expedia, who arranged with the hotel to upgrade us the following day and gave us a goodwill credit towards a future booking. Great service!
Most bookings have been very smooth and I've been refunded quickly the few times I've had to cancel
Had been trying to contact customer…
Had been trying to contact customer service to try and get information regarding flights cancellation and refund due to the current conflict around middle east. Called 2x and both ive been on hold for 1.5hrs. 3hrs in total but no one answered. DO NOT BOOK FROM THEM as very poor customer service
