I’ve had a flight cancelled due to airline and current situation which is understandable, spoke 2 different agents on different occasisons fo refund and to be told it’s all be done and you will get refund only to get an email day later telling me call got disconnected and refund hasn’t been done and to call back, every time calling back it’s an hour wait and no answer. Won’t be using again.

The most horrible experience I have ever had! They way they charge you while they canceling your booking should be investigated by regulators. They keep your money for 5-7 days, they make profit of this and then redressing you. Never again with them!

Can I give a review of ZERO star?? Why do I have to give them even a single star?? A return flight booked from them (SHJ-LHR-SHJ) of Qatar Airways got cancelled by the airline and I got a mail from expedia informing me of the same. They asked me to cancel the booking or rebook with some other option. I cancelled the booking and a message appeared on booking that my booking is cancelled and I will receive a refund after few weeks. No email.... No confirmation... I called them after 3 days to enquire and they were clueless.... it took a 2 hr call in which all I got was a promise that I will get the cancellation mail in 2 days time.... which I did'nt get for 5 days.... still chasing them for just a confirmation.... This website is a scam and hopefully UK government takes note of it otherwise the general public will keep on getting swindled.
Great service
Regularly book through Expedia for hotels and experiences (I prefer to book flights directly with the airline). Last week we arrived at our overseas hotel and the promised garden view room overlooked a building site. The hotel hadn't been able to move us 24 hours later so we contacted Expedia, who arranged with the hotel to upgrade us the following day and gave us a goodwill credit towards a future booking. Great service!

The worst experience ever in booking a short holiday, what could be so simple, card payment wouldn't go through as bank said Expedia won't process it, so I booked elsewhere, effortless. Absolutely dreadful company. Customer service is non existent. I booked a hotel in the UK for five nights with the option to cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Due to the cancellation of a job I was forced to cancel the hotel booking. Expedia had already taken £349 from my bank account.
Unfortunately, the confirmation booking email from Expedia was never received (possibly sent to my junk mail) so I did not have the confirmation number or PIN number they insisted on. The hotel was really helpful and gave me the reservation number and itinerary number, but despite numerous emails and phone calls I got nowhere. The final insult; after managing to talk to someone in India, I was to be told I should call a number in China!!!! only to find that the number wasn’t recognised. So much for Customer service.

It was very stressful time when your are meeting up with family and Expedia wouldn’t respond.
I managed to get refund when Mastercard was involved.

Trouble getting a refund
I booked flights and paid in full only to find the names were in the wrong order, to get that changed they wanted to charge me but said as it was within 24hours I could cancel and get a refund within 3 to 5 working days.
after 9 days the money was still not in my account so I called them only to be told they need proof it has not been returned. Please do NOT book with them if you don't have time to waste if something goes wrong.

I am absolutely appalled by Expedia’s service. My Gulf Air flight for March 19 was cancelled. Under UK261 law, Expedia is legally required to re-route me on alternative carriers (Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, Oman Air, Singapore Airlines, or Eva Air) at the earliest opportunity.
Instead, Expedia is trying to force a refund to avoid the cost of new tickets, leaving me stranded. I have explicitly declined a refund and formally demanded re-routing. The support team continues to stall, claiming they need 'authorization' from the airline, even though Gulf Air's official website clearly states: 'Passengers booked through a travel agent should contact their travel agent directly.'
This is corporate negligence and a direct violation of my statutory rights. I have already waited over 50 hours for a resolution. I am now reporting this to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and will take legal action if I am not re-booked immediately. FIX THIS NOW!
Always great experiences booking
I was surprised to see all the bad reviews. Personally never had any issues and I’ve booked with them easily over 10 times in 2025, flights, hotels, hostels and homestays and had great experiences every time. Easy to message whatever hotel etc you’re staying with through the messages feature on the app. As I’ve booked with them so much I am in gold tier and have saved money with the onekeycash. What I will say though is I’ve noticed that flight prices do increase if you look one day, and then the next.

Misleading cancellation policy and unfair charges, be careful
I booked a flight through Expedia on 8th March at 11:40pm. Their confirmation email clearly stated “Free cancellation up to 24 hours after your ticket is issued.” I relied on this wording.
The next day, 9th March, I contacted Expedia to request a full refund — well within the 24‑hour window. Instead of honouring their own written policy, their agent told me something completely different: that the free cancellation period ended at 11:59pm on the same day of purchase, regardless of when the ticket was issued. This directly contradicts the email and the information shown in my booking.
Despite me cancelling the very next morning, they tried to charge:
• £380 cancellation penalty
• £323 in “non‑refundable taxes”
I provided screenshots showing:
• The 24‑hour free cancellation promise
• Confirmation that my ticket had been issued
• The agent contradicting the policy and refusing the refund
Expedia still refused to honour what they advertised. The inconsistency, lack of transparency, and refusal to take responsibility were extremely disappointing. I’ve now had to escalate this through my bank because Expedia would not follow their own terms.
If you’re thinking of booking with them, be very cautious. The policies they say you get and the policies they actually enforce are not the same.
Hung out to dry by Expedia
Currently in Australia and due to fly back to UK via Dubai...spent the last 3 days on calls to Expedia to arrange alternative flights as FCDO advise against all but essential travel into UAE..Long wait times on calls, got cut off several times and not a single person was English or understood much of it.
Expedia would not offer a single alternative flight back avoiding this area meaning we would be forced to fly into Dubai and risk invalidating our insurance in the process. They claimed there were no alternative flights at all for the next month, yet their own website had flights with other cariers available! Only option they gave was to cancel the flight and receive a refund. Interesting that they're more concerned with washing their hands of you than rerouting via a safe destination! Clearly they have been instructed not to reroute customers as this is expensive for them and its all about making the customer pay!
Formal complaint about this practice will be lodged and never ever will we use Expedia again!
