This was my second holiday with Yvette and I cannot speak highly enough of it. It included a wonderful variety of wildlife including birds, monkeys, caimans, crocodiles, frogs and butterflies. We also visited coffee, banana and pineapple plantations and were able to enjoy some samples. A lovely varied itinerary. Yvette had obviously planned it very carefully including her excellent selection of hotels. We were also blessed with good weather with hardly any rain, which was an added bonus. It is not surprising that her holidays get booked up very quickly. Looking forward to my next one.

The Amazon and the Galápagos Islands. 4/3-20/3 2025
16 amazing nights travelling up in the Andes to a tributary of the Amazon, exploring the rainforest with a local guide. Our adventure continued with 8 nights on the Galápagos Islands. We were an interesting group of travellers all keen to explore and join in. We travelled to the three main islands, Santa Cruz, Isabella and San Christobel, each unique and offering three very different diving and snorkelling experiences. We swam with gloriously coloured fish, gigantic turtles, sea lions and even encountered a sea horse. The water was wonderfully warm and clear. A truly immersive experience. The pace of the expedition was varied with lots to do and see with a bit of down time. Very well organised and lead. An added bonus in the city of Quito on our way home was the wonderful pre-Colombian artifacts. Casa del Alabado. Highly recommended.

We have just completed our first trip with Yvette and "Experium Travel", we went to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands and had an absolutely fantastic time, the trip was so well organised it allowed us to relax completely and really enjoy the exciting and varied experiences that were available. Yvette brings a wealth of knowledge to the trip but also an infectious sense of fun that meant we spent a lot of time laughing as well as marvelling at the fabulous wildlife and culture of this very special country.

This was our first trip with Experium Travel and I can't fault anything. We had the most amazing time in Ecuador, the Amazon and Galapagos. It was truly a 'bucket list' holiday, with close encounters with sea lions, marine iguanas, all sorts of sea birds, fabulous snorkelling where we saw huge green turtles feeding, hammer head sharks, sea horses, penguins and the most beautiful tropical fish. The hotels were unique and characterful, in fabulous locations and our guides so informative. I'm still pinching myself that we were there. Thanks to Yvette for all her organisation skills and for looking after us, nothing was too much trouble and she made sure we made the most of every minute.

As a veteran of many tours with Experium travel ( all enjoyable) this may yet prove to be the best itinerary Yvette, the director of Experium Travel , has currently put together. Whatever your interest- culture in Quito , a bit of exploring in the Amazon rainforest or simply watching / photographing /swimming with the amazing fauna from 3 very different Galápagos Islands this trip has it all, along with Yvette’s customary attention to detail . Can’t recommend this trip /company highly enough.

Back home after an incredible journey travelling through Sri Lanka! We explored ancient ruins, UNESCO world heritage sites, Buddhist temples, national parks, connected with the Indigenous Veddas, wildlife safaris, spice gardens, waterfalls, tea plantations, stayed in luxurious hotels to unique glamping experiences, all the while savouring delicious local dishes. The warm welcomes, friendly greetings, and genuine smiles from everyone we met made the experience even more special.
A huge thank you to Yvette Barnett, owner/tour manager of Experium Travel, for orchestrating another expertly guided tour and helping me explore the beauty of Sri Lanka. With Yvette at the helm, I always feel in the safest hands, which is why I have embarked on five tours with Experium Travel and have four more planned between 2025 and 2026. This commitment stands as a testament to my unwavering trust, confidence, and sheer delight in the outstanding experiences she curates.
Already counting down till the next trip! :-D

My wife and I have recently returned from our first holiday with Experium Travel. This small group tour was a two week trip around many of the sights and experiences that Sri Lanka can offer, and was led by the owner and Director of the company, Yvette Barnett. She demonstrated strong, clear leadership with an interesting, informative and action packed programme. Her aim is to include not just the ‘everyday’ tourist spots but different experiences (hence the name). For example, we stayed in top-notch hotels, basic glamping tents, a converted tea factory and very up-market glamping tents. Expect early starts to beat the crowds and tweaking to the programme to suit changing circumstances that invariably occur.
At sunrise, we hiked up to the summit of the stunning Sigiriya Rock; we rode on bullock carts; were paddled across a lake to a village to learn and get involved in local cooking; we got up at dawn to watch the local fishermen land and prepare their catch; we took 4-wheel drive excursions to see and photograph the flora and fauna; we visited temples and antiquities; we met members of the indigenous forest dwelling Veddha people; we travelled up through the hills on a superlative train ride and even had a privately chartered catamaran to go whale watching.
Our Sri Lankan guide who accompanied us throughout the trip was outstanding and talked to us about many aspects of life in the country including religion, education and history.
All in all, a very enjoyable and full-on trip.

I have just returned from Sri Lanka with Yvette, owner/director. I have travelled with her a number of times, this tour was well organised, accommodation was very good, a well planned and interesting tour of the country. Yvette always travels on each tour, on hand to advise, amend where necessary and seeks to achieve the best for all of her customers. Another excellent experience.

The was my first time with Experium Travel and I wasn’t disappointed, Yvette was excellent at organising the holiday and her attention to detail was second to none. Our accommodation was superb along with the cuisine and we got to sample the very best that Sri Lanka has to offer. Our local guide spent the whole time with the group informing us of the islands history and what to expect and see at each location. I would definitely recommend Experium Travel to anyone wanting to travel the world.

Our first trip with Experium and it certainly wont be our last. We had an amazing tour of Morocco with Yvette being our brilliant leader throughout. Yvette is extremely professional and has excellent skills at getting the best out of the tour. Her attention to detail is exceptional. The trip to Morocco gave us a really good insight into this interesting country. The food and accommodation arranged by Yvette was authentic and of a very high standard. Overall, this trip exceeded our expectations and we would happily recommend anyone to travel with Experium.

This was our second trip with Experium and we will definitely be booking a third.
Yvette ensures all travellers are comfortable and arranges the tours to ensure we have a chance to see and experience the best of the country visited. We packed in a lot of sites during the nine days and came home feeling enriched and relaxed.

Our amazing, wonderful trip to Jordan was only made possible by the sterling efforts carried out by Yvette, owner of Experium Travel and her team here and by her well established agents in Jordan.
Her number one priority was to ensure our safety and also to deliver a first class tour. This she did in her dependable, calm and very efficient way.
To be able to experience a tour of this extraordinary country in such difficult times was a privilege.
To be in the company of lovely, like minded people added to the amazing sights we saw in the jaw dropping city of Petra, the camel ride and star gazing in Wadi Rum and the beautiful Red Sea culminating in much laughter as we floated in the Dead Sea.
Thank you, Yvette once again. Already, very much looking forward to the next trip.

Wonderful Jordan
A brilliant trip organised and led by Yvette, who dealt expertly with the last minute cancellation of our B A flights to rebook with Royal Jordanian 48 hours later.
The trip started with a marvellous cultural experience reaching its peak at Petra, we were lucky that problems in the area led to very few other visitors, our luck but not so good for Jordan’s tourist industry. On to Wadi Rum and its huge skies and spectacular scenery and finally a few days on the Red Sea and all finalised at Dead Sea.
Jordan needs to be supported in these difficult times and Experium Travel is the company to take you there

I’ve recently returned from Brazil with Experium Travel, lead brilliantly by Yvette who delivered another superb holiday.
The accommodation was the best available, including the Catatarats hotel overlooking the fabulous Iguaçu Falls. We enjoyed a series of wonderful ‘once in a lifetime ‘ experiences throughout the tour. Others have described the itinerary in earlier reviews. For me, the opportunities to see and photograph wildlife was varied and exceptional.
This was my third trip this year, after Chile/Easter Island and Greenland. All fabulous and very enjoyable with small groups of friendly travellers.
I highly recommend Yvette’s tours, having booked three for 2025, I can’t wait !

I travelled with my family to Japan in March 2024 and it was excellent. It was an Experium holiday of a life time!
I knew it was going to be great, which is why my son and sister joined me on this tour. I am studying Japanese and I have always wanted to travel there.
This tour brought together all that is beautiful and all that is brilliant about Japan. First of all it just felt so safe and welcoming, from the quiet of Hakone to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, this tour had it all. This was my first trip to Japan and I enjoyed it immensely.
We had a carefully curated itinerary which was a fascinating mix of ancient customs, ancient places and contemporary fast moving cities.
I really enjoyed the mix of nature too. The bamboo forest, the onsen at Hakone and the beauty of Mount Fuji were awe inspiring. I was dealing with a very bruising work situation and being in Japan was calming, especially the onsen (public baths). I shall never forget sitting in the hot springs, letting all the stress melt away. The serenity and beauty of Hakone will stay with me for a very long time.
I shall remember the temples, the tori gates and the Shinto shrines and learning more about Japan's myths, legends and history. It was so fascinating.
Hiroshima was painful but an appropriate time to pause and reflect, and the peace gardens and monument and the museum all illustrated the pain and devastation of war but in a strange way also inspired hope.
And I loved the highly efficient trains which whizzed us through towns and villages, allowing us to see the beauty of Japan. We saw so much but I know there is still much more to see and I am looking forward to joining the Experium 2026 autumn tour.
Yvette provided an excellent tour this time as she does every time!

I travelled to Peru as I particularly wanted to experience Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
I had previously travelled with Experium Travel and knew what an excellent tour manager Yvette, the company director was. She plans and escorts all the trips, and uses her extensive experience to provide interesting insites, best local hotels and fabulous photo stops.
Sometimes the days start early, but that’s so we can see the fabulous sunrises or so we arrive before the crowds. Peru was a taxing trip, with high altitudes and distances involved, which took their toll, but Yvette always dealt with any issues quickly and efficiently.
Machu Picchu was utterly breathtaking, and well worth the effort. We also had a fabulous trip to the floating islands, in particular Uros, and the colourful people who live there, an absolutely fascinating experience. Along with the condors, the Sacred Valley, a fab train trip, Cusco and Lima, so many wonderful memories and friends were made.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Experium Travel, I feel safe and secure on Yvettes trips, and with her help, I have the best photos possible.
My husband and I have had several trips with Yvette over the last few years which have all been amazing.
The trip to Peru certainly did not disappoint. The itinerary was diverse from the amazing Machu Picchu to being in a canoe in the Amazon looking for wildlife to exploring the city of Lima. The attention to detail of the itinerary and the organisation was second to none.
The trip itself was also very much a rollercoaster in respect of sickness in the group which included a hospital visit and calling for Doctors several times. However, as always with any of Yvette's trips, you felt completely confident and assured that, no matter what, you would be taken care of.
We have a trip booked for next year with Yvette and will continually work through the list of amazing adventures she offers.
Wonderful time in Peru and lovely catching up with previous holiday buddies as well as making some new friends!
Blown away by Peru
Peru is not an easy country to visit, as there are early mornings and extended journeys, but the effort is repaid in full. Our tour was admirably led by Yvette, the director of Experium, who kept us going while some were struggling with illness. A combination of digestive problems and altitude sickness made it difficult for some to fully participate, but we kept going.
The tour was designed to show off the best of the country and we certainly saw that. Photos of Macchu Pichu do not do the site justice.
The group contained a mixture of first-timers and returnees to Experium and the spirit of companionship grew during the tour.
Looking forward to my next adventure.
Peru June 2024
My husband and I have just returned from our first ever escorted trip and our first with Experium Travel
We are globetrotters who holiday frequently and decided on this trip following a recommendation from a friend and the fact that the Director of the Company Yvette escorts the tours herself
Peru was an amazing Country and we have come back with some wonderful imprints of the locations in our hearts especially Machu Picchu
Some pointers to bear in mind for future travellers – most people on the trip were solo travellers who have travelled before with this Company - which was not a problem for us but may be something to consider for couples going forward
The hotels met our expectations for this trip and with the exception of a couple were as advertised – mid range
The days were quite taxing – too many early starts with not much respite in between – would have been better to perhaps stagger the days if possible as we did see a number of people struggling with this including ourselves
Also the majority of travellers on this trip became ill – many with stomach upsets and we were told by the Director Yvette under no circumstances should we take Imodium however when doctors were called they prescribed exactly this type of medication – having researched the Country following our trip it appears that this is a common issue in Peru – The Director Yvette did however do a good job in ensuring swift medical treatment for those in need
The Guides that were appointed for this trip were a mixed bunch – some were excellent and some were not – in particular the Guide for Machu Picchu was terrible – one of the guests was verbally abused and pushed at the top of Machu Picchu at a photo point – we informed the guide who did nothing so my husband had to intervene as this could have been escalated and become dangerous!
Also the guide extended the route by an extra 40 minutes on his own remit which caused me particular mobility problems and ruined the end of the day which was a real shame
Tips for tour guides and drivers were not included in the trip costs which we were aware of – we totally understand that tipping is optional and clearly for a good service one would tip gladly however Yvette the Director really laboured the point after every day regarding ‘thanking by showing our appreciation’ and we were made to feel pressured to tip to the point at one of the days she actually stood there and watched who tipped and who didn’t which was in our opinion not right – if its that important to Experium Travel they should include tipping in their costs
Finally we did notice at times that some group members were spoken to in a rather condescending dismissive manner which we found rather embarrassing and unprofessional
Overall these comments are meant to be constructive and we met some great people who we will for sure keep in touch with
