A great company that makes applying for…
A great company that makes applying for travel insurance truly painless. This is the second time I’ve used this company for annual cover. My go to each time & would thoroughly recommend to all
Easy to use
The site was easy to use and understand. Ian is always there for any questions or queries you may have.
Reliable, Supportive, and Proactive Travel Insurance!
I’m extremely satisfied with the service from Explorer Travel Insurance. From the moment I purchased my policy, Ian has provided ongoing advice and support, ensuring I was well-prepared and informed in today’s ever-changing travel landscape. His proactive approach and clear communication gave me complete confidence in my coverage. Highly recommend for anyone looking for reliable and responsive travel insurance!
Quick and easy to use service
Quick and easy to use service, as a last minute requirement for a holiday that was also last minute. Didn't need to use the services luckily, but would still recommend the very simple solution this provides.
I have traveled many times with Explorer Absolutely brilliant I do not know the dates so have selected a random date
I have traveled many times with
A very competitive price
A very competitive price for just the policy I needed.
Included gadget cover.
Covered a helicopter flight around the bay.
Also covered my safari trip to Rhino Ridge.
Many other policies were way more expensive.
Helpful staff when I had a query.
Very recommended.
A very pleased older person. Luckily we didn't need to claim for anything.
Quick and efficient process
Quick and efficient process, with competitive pricing (chose annual cover). I like the communications from Ian, giving updates and useful travel information; something I have not experienced from other travel insurers. Not needed to claim, and hopefully won’t, but feel assured it would be dealt with professionally.
Polite and pleasant to deal with and a good price
We haven't had travel insurance for a number of years as we hadn't travelled but this year we are going abroad so I contacted a few different companies.
I wanted to speak to someone to make sure that we didn't miss anything on the application with pre-existing conditions so that the company couldn't backtrack later.
I have to say that the staff at Explorer were patient and understanding and everything was explained. I was given a price there and then whereas some other companies didn't. I had the choice of 2 policies and the price was very competitive. They actually explained things and my options better than some of the other companies out there. Overall I was very pleased with them and would use them again.

Thankfully didn’t need the insurance but like this is a UK company , paying tax here.
Worth supporting.
Excellent service from a small British Company
Excellent service from a small British company. Paid my claim for cancelled travel promptly and in full. Good communications, easy to speak with a real person. I have used this company for long haul travel insurance for several years. I have a medical condition but Explorer is still the most competitive policy. Don’t take my word, try for yourself.
Always a competitive price and…
Always a competitive price and excellent cover with the flexibility to change/upgrade your policy as required.
Good Coverage, but Slow Claims Process
I bought this travel insurance for myself, my wife, and my 15-month-old son. I’m glad I did because it covered search and rescue costs, which many cheaper policies wouldn’t. This was a big relief when I had to make a claim.
However, the claims process was frustrating. It took months to process, and I had to keep chasing for updates. Communication was slow, and I never got clear answers on when it would be resolved. After filing a complaint, they finally sorted it out and gave me £200 in compensation for the delays, which I appreciate.
The insurance covers a lot, but if you ever need to claim, be ready for a long wait and poor communication. It’s a good policy, but they really need to improve their customer service.
Do not use
This is the 2nd time I have tried to claim with this company. Unfortunately my first holiday was a missed flight due to a suicide jumper on the motorway. It took weeks of going backward and forwards and service was shocking. They tried everything to get out if it and wanted more and more evidence.
My second time( I purchased a yearly policy) I missed a connecting flight as my original flight was delayed. I had to purchase a new flight. Guess what, there is ANOTHER loophole. I can't claim because it wasnt a 12 hour delay. Im not claiming for the delay just my flight ticket. Terrible company avoid at all costs . Don't expect them to honour the policy.Complete waste of time
