Purchasing was easy. Price competitive.

Straight forward application and a good price

I had to curtail my holiday with my parents early because my brother was taken ill. He has subsequently died and unfortunately the only way that we can claim the return flights money ( 1,400.00)for the 4of us is to give a copy of his death certificate.
There is absolutely no way that I am going to ask my sister in law for that at this time of grief.
I received a phone call from explorer explaining that it is unfortunate that they have to see a copy of the certificate because of fraudulent claims. I fully understand this and I have been assured that explorer will assist me in any way possible if I decide to proceed with my claim.
I have received sympathy and reassurance from explorer travel and I would fully recommend them.

We bought travel insurance cover from Ian at Explorer for the first time in 2024. Never having had a problem before, we just assumed it was the sensible thing to do. How fortunate we were because, in June, we had to make a claim on the policy as I had an injury at the airport just before we were due to fly out to Austria and unfortunately had to cancel our trip.
We followed the claims process and a few weeks later, we received the payment for our costs (less the excess of course).
The moral of the story is therefore, always take out travel insurance because you never know when trouble might strike.
In respect of Explorer, their service has been exemplary and communications are always very friendly. I have described Ian as being similar to Dave Fishwick (if you don't know who he is, watch the film "Bank of Dave"). Not only is there a hint of similarity of appearance, the main feature is that, where 'Dave' cares for all his bank customers, Ian does exactly the same for all those who have bought their travel insurance with Explorer. There is no hard sell - just good, sensible advice for insurance at a very competitive price.

I recently had heart bypass and had to cancel cruise with my daughter and son in law explorer paid out no problems at all have used explorer quite a few times for travel insurance and will not hesitate to use again in the future excellent service from start to finish thank you KEVIN
