Absolutely shocking experience with Formula One Autocentre, Cirencester. I strongly advise anyone considering using this garage to STAY WELL CLEAR.
I took my car towards the end of 2025 for what should have been a straightforward driveshaft repair. What followed was a complete display of incompetence and unprofessionalism. First, they claimed the wrong part had been supplied by their supplier. Then they ordered another part which also didn’t fit. After several days of wasted time, they simply told me they couldn’t find the correct part and that I had to collect my vehicle unfinished.
The real problem became clear when I took the car to Halfords Autocentre in Cirencester shortly afterwards. During their inspection before carrying out the repair, Halfords technicians identified clear and visible damage around the driveshaft and ball joint area that was not there before, and it appeared that the wrong bolt had been fitted in the suspension assembly, which is extremely concerning from a safety point of view. In the end, I had to replace the lower suspension wishbone arm. The headlight levelling sensor had not been returned to its correct location, also showing incompetence.
My car went in for a repair and came back damaged. Despite contacting the garage by email, phone, and in person, they have refused to take responsibility or reimburse the cost of the damage they caused.
If you value your vehicle, your safety, and your money, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. There are plenty of competent garages in Cirencester, and this is clearly not one of them.

I had the brake fluid replaced only three weeks earlier, so I don't believe them, just taking on work that you are unable to prove is required, what a money spinner !!!!

Being an ex garage owner - - I find it very dificult finding and trusting any other garage with my precious car.
I am fairly new to the Cirencester area and needed a MOT and some work done.
After visiting a couple of Auto centres and being turned away because ' they dont do that type of work'!
I chanced upon the Formula One Centre.
Steve and Aaron immediately filled me with the confidence to let them have my car for MOT and futre work.
They listened and readily agreed to take on the work.
The premises is spotlessly clean with clean waiting room and toilets.
They are 1 minute from local bus route and a fast food chain next door !!
What else could you wish for.

My MX5 needed a wheel balance, booked myself in, all quick and friendly and knowledgeable. It did not fix the problem, so Steve, the manager rechecked them and also did the rears. All with a informative approach. Sadly it did not fix the problem and Steve kindly gave some suggestions on what it could be and that I need to go to a garage next. Thanks so much, I bring all my cars here and have done for 4 years, always a good team.

After realising on the way to Cirencester to pick up my daughter that one headlight and one side light had gone in the torrential rain along the A417 bypass I headed to the garage looking for help just before they closed. Steve took my car straight away and he and Aaron replaced my headlight to make it safe for me to drive home and he didn’t charge me and told me it was his good deed for the day…. Brilliant! They have always out of their way to help fix our car and this time they squeezed it in last min between school drop offs and pick ups. Highly recommend!
After being fobbed off by the RAC and the kwik fit across the road after breaking down today I came to this garage very desperate. I had a 90 minute journey ahead of me with a 5 month old on board and my engine management light had come on.
The man on the front desk immediately came to my aid and plugged my car straight in to diagnose the problem, he was so friendly and accommodating. He reassured me that I could make my journey home with my baby.
He really restored my faith in humanity today, his kindness went a long way 😊 thank you so much!
These guys went well out of their way to help with a transmission fault, but it was beyond what they could do. It became a saga, with two new clutches being fitted - with no lack of effort from them - before they threw in the towel. After expensive recovery to my home town (£££) and car hire (£££), a local garage replaced both clutch and flywheel which fixed it (£££). Irksome since I'd suggested to F1 to check the flywheel. More followed: I'd twice asked the engine tray to be put back properly, but the screws were lost (it was new, fitted the week before).
If it happens to you, check out the Motor Ombudsman scheme: F1 issued a full refund, but frankly it needn't have happened: 'never replace a clutch without a new flywheel' is standard it seems. Which is a shame since they really did try, but failed even on the cosmetics of the engine tray, which you can liken to the brown M&Ms in van Halen's dressing room.

My daughter took her van to formula one auto centre in Cirencester to have her front brakes replaced.
After she picked it up her front brakes failed less than 20miles / 48 hours later.
One of the bolts that attaches the brake to the van was missing causing the brake system to fail.
They did repair the faulty work they had carried out but did not treat this as a major safety issue which could have had catastrophic consequences.
For this reason I would advise everyone to avoid taking there vehicle to formula one as I have no confidence it there ability to carry out the simplest of tasks in a safe and professional manner.
Avoid at all costs

I’m retired from the motor trade, having had my own dealership and over the years have had accounts with several different tyre companies, but these days only require tyres for my private cars. I did a ring round to several tyre companies near to me and beyond doubt Steve at Cirencester came up trumps on price, quality of tyre, knowledge and a friendly attitude. This was followed up when I went in and had the tyres fitted.

I had never used this garage before, as I don't live in Cirencester, but I was driving alone nearby and heard a big twang sound. I have no idea about cars and didn't know what to do. I managed to drive myself around the corner and found formula one. When I got there I explained to Steve, who turned out to be the manager, what had happened and asked if he could help in any way. I wasn't sure if I could drive home and I was stuck without my family. Steve was very kind to me. He told me I could go in the customer waiting area where the heating was on and there was a TV with the news on. He put the car up on a ramp and figured out my back suspension spring had snapped. He explained it all to me, did a quote which he printed out so I could contact my husband and explain what we needed doing. Unfortunately I couldn't get hold of my husband and didn't know when we could get the car into the garage. Steve reassured me that I could drive carefully on it and make a decision about what to do next, once I was at home and could speak to my husband. I find it tricky going into car garages (I don't usually have to do it) and talking about something I know nothing about, with strangers. It feels a very vulnerable situation as your car has broken in some way and you are hoping the strangers you are talking to will not take advantage. Well I just wanted to say that I felt so well looked after by Steve. He was kind, knowledgeable and did not put any pressure on me. I'm very grateful for the help he gave me. The other mechanic who was there that day was also a very lovely guy.
Steve went out of his way to help me when my tyre was damaged by a pothole. I needed to get to a very important appointment and he was an absolute godsend. Many thanks to Formula one.
