Horrendous service from the Crewe garage

Booked for my son to have a puncture repair carried on today at the Crewe branch (23 mile round trip). My wife followed him there as they were dropping the car off leaving it there whilst doing some shopping at the nearby retail park.
The appointment was booked with an AM slot.

When they arrived they were told that no booking had been made, plus, i quote “you can’t book a puncture repair online” (100% wrong as i had an email confirmation. Order number WEB75888621A, showing the date and time of appointment along with the puncture repair and a free 10 point check). He then went on to say that they can’t fit the job in today as they are too busy. My wife explained we have a confirmation and they had traveled a distance to be there. She offered to leave the car with them and after huffing and puffing he agreed to fit the car in at 2pm

My wife returned to collect the car when they advised it was done only to find out that they hadn’t carried out the free 10 point check i had booked. All they could say is they were too busy to do it and to bring it back next week.

Horrendous service. I won’t be returning with any of my cars to any of your centres again.

Absolute customer disregard

Absolute customer disregard! This morning I tried to schedule an aircon recharge. Unfortunately, the call was disconnected. Just a minute later, I tried calling the garage again, but no one answered. I tried again after 15 minutes, but no answer. My number is definitely displayed, so I don't understand why they don't even try to call back. They seem to completely disregard their customers; after all, they're paid by the hour, not for the work performed. I've visited this garage in the past (tire replacement and alignment) and never had any problems. However, after today's incident, our cars will never go there again. And please, don't copy and paste the same formula to contact your customer service.

Beware.

Beware.
Formula one auto centre Crewe.
Two of my cars gone from bad to worst after they claimed it was serviced.

First car, MOT was passed without any adversaries sorted, found the same adversary the next year.
Second one, I started having rattling problems just after service.

I will never go there again.

Great customer service

Great customer service, great prices and really fast.

Gave them the keys and not even 30 minutes later my car has been already sorted. Had my full service done in less than 30 minutes.

Excellent service in Crewe

Went to F1 In Crewe Cheshire. The person in reception could not have been more friendly and helpful. Took time to look at my tyre and offer advice. Such a pleasant change from the usual standard of care. Jean Chinn M.B.E

Disappointed

The tyres weren't ready for my appointment so had to leave the car there 24 hrs.
When I collected it the wheels were covered in grease & dirt.
After I cleaned them I noticed one had some paint scratched off..
Cheap but very poor customer care.

Advert says clutch

Advert says clutch, but the person who answered seemed completely oblivious to the Website product list. It is absurd to believe that denying what is clearly in plain sight on the advert is denied by the person that answers the phone. deliberately decieving people is kamikazee prublic relations. I hope it was just this Crewe Branch and that training is given to help the customer not "lie" to them

Soon after leaving Liverpool on my drive back to Devon, I discovered that air loss from one of my tyres was due to a nail which I had managed to run over. Being the Saturday of the long weekend all tyre suppliers in the Crewe area were super busy and unable to help, fortunately Mark at Formula One Autocentre empathised with my predicament and managed to fit me in regardless of his busy schedule. Much appreciated, Mark is a credit and asset to his company.

Disappointing attitude

I discovered a flat tyre on my car this morning. I managed to pump it up a bit and drove slowly to my nearest branch at Crewe. They asked if I was booked in and I explained why I wasn't.
They said that they were busy and fully booked and it would be several days until they could do anything. I asked if they could just spare a few minutes to put my spare wheel on and the answer was a straight no.
I left very disappointed and tried another tyre depot. They were also very busy but at least said that if I leave it with them they would put the spare on today when they got chance.

Inadequate and unsatisfactory servicing of my car

On Saturday 29th July, I took my car to Formula One, Crewe, Cheshire branch for a full service. My car was also booked for an MOT on 16th July (due to not being able to book this on the same day as its service, and not being in the country for two weeks).

I went back to collect my car at approximately 6pm (close of business), only to find my car was still being looked at.

As soon as my partner arrived, a mechanic, who we believed to be the Manager, approached us and explained that there was a problem that we needed to look at. He then explained that, the pipe to the air filter to the engine was missing, and that I would need to contact BMW for the part. He said that he didn't know what the part was, but If I explained to BMW that it was a pipe from the air filter to the engine that needed ordering BMW would know what it was. I explained to him, that I didn't understand why this has only been picked up now, the last MOT the care had was at Formula One last year, and this wasn't picked up then, and I've had no issues with driving the car, given I drive the car more or less all day, due to my job role. He then replied, "it should have been picked up, I'm not sure why, I don't know what the part is but this is why they brought me in, to spot these things, because I've got 25 years' experience and I'm the best". He then went on to say that everything else is fine with the car, i'd need a new tyre eventually, and the brake pads are slightly worn but it will be fine and pass its MOT. I even said that I'd buy a new type and pads now before it's MOT, and he said to not do it because it will pass its MOT. The paperwork for the service supports what he had said to me - stating that these areas are fine and are not urgent. He then took us to the counter to make payment, at which point my partner looked up the part online, a crankcase air filter intake breather hose. He asked the mechanic if it was the right part. Now given that the mechanic has 25 years' experience and that he had been brought in to spot these kind of things, he reiterated that I must contact BMW to order the part, because he does not know what the part is, and he cannot source it, he said that it can only be ordered from BMW, however, it should still pass its MOT without it, as no other faults have flagged up during the service.

Due to this questionable assessment of the part, my partner called another mechanic and asked if he knew what a crankcase air filter intake breather hose is and should a mechanic of 25 years of experience also know what it is. As you can imagine, the other mechanic laughed and said yes, every mechanic should know and should be able to source the part quite easily. He then confirmed that the part couldn't have been broken before entering Formula One because there would have been visible oil in the engine bay, otherwise.

By law, Formula One, has a legal duty to take care of my car whilst it was in their possession, and I believe they failed to do this and were not open and honest with me. As a result, I decided to not take my car back to Formula One for its MOT. I took it to a different garage. My car failed its MOT due to a number of issues which should have been picked up during its service, which weren't - one issue wasn't even carried out, given, the website clearly states that the service covers it (which I had paid for). These issues are stated on the MOT as dangerous and major defects, and to not drive the car until fixed. These issues are as follows:
1. Brake pads less than 1.5 thick front.
2. Shock absorbers have a serious fluid leak.
3. Tyre tread depth below the legal requirement.

Issues that weren't even carried out are:
4. Air filter had not been checked.
5. Fuel filter had not been checked.

This is absolutely disgusting. The above should have been spotted accordingly - as stated on their website. I've paid for this. Why has this not been done? They had failed to conduct the service appropriately, and as a result, I had also been left without a car for three days.

I understand accidents happen but, I would have expected the honesty about breaking the crankcase air filter intake breather hose, instead of making some story up. However, what I cannot accept is the fact I paid for a full service and neither was the brake pads, shock absorber or front tyre picked up as dangerous and major faults on the service which resulted in my car failing its MOT. Also, the air filter and fuel filter had not been checked, which should have been checked - this is included in the full service.

Formula One, Crewe Cheshire had failed to adhere to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Supply of Goods and Service Act 1982, which requires all mechanics to use reasonable skills and care while carrying out work.

I have no choice but to take things further - Motor Ombudsman.
Avoid Formula One, Crewe branch at all costs.

Not a very happy customer

I arrived promptly & asked for a favour to take off front n/s & rear o/s. But the gentleman (poss called Dave) said they were far to busy to do that. There was 1 car being repaired at that time. I said ok no worries, please replace both o/s tyres & asked how long it would take at 9.50am & the gentleman said 30 to 45 mins. I arrived back at 10.45am to find only my car in the garage, still being repaired & the lads were on a break. More importantly they were in the process of replacing both n/s tyres.

Not a very happy customer I had quite a few choices of garages that I could have gone to, but I chose Formula 1 Autocentre Crewe as previously I had received excellent service.

Sadly I will not be returning to get both of the o/s tyres replaced.

Also my MOT & Service is due in May 2024 of which I was going to ask for a quote, instead I will put my faith in a Vauxhall main dealer.

I spoke to possibly the Manager & expained what was happening & he said they could not remember what I had requested. I said that I did not think the gentleman was listening to me. I left at 11.00am & still the only car in the garage.

Bit of a disaster on the service that stripped the threads on the sump. They must have known It was not tightening and gave the car back only to leak oil over my drive ! A bodged attempt to fix it by covering the sump nut with silicone sealant which they did not say and I spotted by looking underneath. Back again and a few days later replaced my sump. 3 days and one night they had my car all due to over tighten. Over the last few days various warning lights including Engine and ESP service - far too coincidental and now booking into a main dealer to get checked out properly at even more expense - Never using again.
