As a man of a certain age, it won't be uncommon for many of us to have had experience(s) of shoddy, poor quality and in some cases dodgy car sales businesses. THIS IS BY NO MEANS ONE OF THEM !! Having been disappointed in having to sell a higher end car I was on the hunt for a more economical motor. Literally the first forecourt I tried was FG. Having looked at a few I happened across a 2013 Mazda 3 Venture.....not everyone's cup of tea but with one owner from new, 33k on the clock, full Mazda SH, it was a no brainer. The price was higher than I'd wanted to pay but that seems to be the market and taken the above factors into consideration, I couldn't say no. From the outset, Kyle was the salesman.....an affable young man with a laid back, laconic style - IN NO WAY pushy. Clearly the cars sell themselves. Having had a test drive, it reinforced my decision to buy. From putting the deposit down to picking up was five days. In that time it had been serviced and MOT'd. I picked it up, unchecked (my choice) but found the following morning a tiny dent alongside the drivers door in an awkward position. Contacted Kyle and without question he offered to take the car back and have the dent guy look at it. SORTED !! Clearly they didn't have to extend to doing this but clearly take their customer satisfaction seriously.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE IN THE HUNT FOR A CAR TO CONSIDER THIS COMPANY AND PARTICULARLY KYLE !! 10/10 5* rating.....however you want to describe

This is the first time that ive used fg cars , as i looking for a little run about as a second car i thought id pop in and have a look.
I can not fault the service I received at fg. Sam was very patient and nothing was too much trouble without being pushey .
Ended up buying a fiesta that has been absolutely spot on and a really fun car to drive.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them If your in the market for a new motor .

Brought a car here in June …4 weeks later Engine warning light came on …travelled the 170 miles to have them repair it …took them 5 days to fix it ..
seven weeks later Engine warning light comes on again … not the fuel system this time but a Nox sensor !
Company tried saying it’s out of the three months warranty cause it’s done over 3000 miles ( extra 500 miles ) due to travelling back few times for the last repair .. So telling them this they decided to look at it . Took them a day this time to say it’s the Nox sensor… but instead of fixing it .. they remapped car and said if it comes on again We Will not do anything !
This car cost 7000 and used for taking a very disabled person out and my grandkids … the car should be safe and fit for purpose But it’s Not …
Just don’t be fooled by these people .. they r only after your money..
I will be taking this to court if I have to , as I see I am not alone on having trouble with a car from this place ,
UPDATE …. Been told by Citroen Garage it’s the DPF as well !! Over one and a half thousand pounds … No wonder they wiped the code !!!!!

Bought a car from these people.
Within weeks had to have a new exhaust and now having other problems. Needs a new starter motor and battery. They are not helpful and just get very defensive when you try to speak to them. I'm now having to pay for this car for 4 years knowing it's a heap!! Do not buy from these people, 0 stars in my opinion

DO NOT BUY FROM FG CARS!!!
Three weeks ago I bough a Ford Ranger from them, the problems started three days after collecting the truck which took them nearly three weeks to get ready for me (which makes sense now).
It firstly started with a few electronic faults on the truck which they then sorted out after having the truck back for another 4 days.
All seemed okay for a week until I noticed a leak on the ground where id left my truck, I’d had enough at this point, so then booked it in with a Ford main dealer to diagnose it and do a health check hoping to find the root of the problem. Only to have Ford tell me how the truck had a tremendous amount wrong with it and they wouldn’t even want to touch it as it was a ‘unroadworthy vehicle’ FG cars or the MOT centre had cut out and mapped out the dpf to prevent showing problems as well, which is illegal.
It had been pushed through a fraudulent MOT by FG cars and their chosen garage and wasn’t even road legal which they then decided to sell me, try to cover up and hope I wouldn’t find within the 30 days.

I was very lucky to come out of this situation with my money back as I was only just within my 30 days under ‘the consumer rights act’ allowing me to take the truck back and get a full refund, however this could have been very different.

To say I’ve received every penny back for what this has cost me would not be true. I am self employed and have been without a vehicle for nearly 2 weeks now. I wouldn’t want anyone to be put through the stress and nightmare that FG cars have put me through and it isn’t good enough.

Not once did I receive an apology throughout this nightmare experience!!!

I would highly advise to stay away from them it is not worth the risk!!!

What was originally a 5 star rating is now a 1. Customer handling at point of sale was great however the moment you take the car, you’re screwed.

15 days from collecting the car, I discover the air conditioning is not working. Ok, things happen, I am not worried, I simply contact them and ask if they’d cover a simple regas for £50 local to me to check if it is something as simple as this before having the air conditioning unit fully checked for a far greater cost. They refuse with the below reply…

Good Afternoon, Unfortunately as the Air Con is not part of the Engine or Gearbox (This is a gas that runs out), this isn't something we can cover under our warranty. I then point out I have only had the car for a matter of 2 weeks and understand it is required to be fixed anyway under consumer rights act and they reply with the below…

I have checked our inspection and I can confirm that it was working. It may be that the gas has dropped below the pressure threshold and requires a regas. Unfortunately we are unable to cover the cost of this

I am now going to have to pursue ombudsman route for something that I would have expected a simple “I am very sorry to hear the air conditioning has already failed on a car you’ve just collected, we will reimburse you the cost and if it is still not working get it booked for a full investigation’.

Please use extreme caution when buying a vehicle here; I would thoroughly recommend you treat them as a private seller without integrity.

If you are interested in any of their cars, book an appointment. They are a good garage team and made me feel very welcome. Tim was my guide and brought the vehicle out for inspection. We discussed the pros and cons of the car in a friendly, light-hearted manner. There was no pressure to buy or make any commitments and was accompanied with open talking and good banter. I was left alone to inspect and test drive the car at my own leisure.

They test-drove my car for part-exchange with no issues. After all of that, I was directed towards their excellent showroom to discuss sales and part exchange of the cars over coffee in a very relaxed environment.
I was only spending small money but the way they treated me made me feel like a big client.

On picking the car up 5 days later, it had been valeted and it was well presented to me. I then proceeded to go on another test drive with another team member. Everything I asked to be done was done and more.
We then sorted out sales and paperwork with ease over another cup of coffee.
I am now the proud owner of a nice, lovely car.

Great people. Tim excelled in his job (“Tim, remember to turn left, left and left again!” 😂)
