small swing arm wood burner bbq
I bought a small swing arm wood burner and bbq from Burford Garden Centre in the sale. I thought it would be a great multi functional piece of kit. The product came without instructions, chipped glass and the door would not close properly. A replacement with delivery paid for at my own expense was similarly damaged although the door was functional. Online instructions say it is safe to use bbq briquettes but not coal. It is not possible to bbq anything on the product with just briquettes because the distance between the coals and the grill is too deep. In consequence everything was cooked in the household oven, one of my guests was ill possibly due to food poisoning whilst we messed around trying to get everything to cook and this has ended up being a very expensive mistake. Great wood burner but it is not a bbq. Very very disappointing and distressing.

The BBQ does require a slightly longer period of time to get up to temperature due to the thickness of steel and size of the unit. We would recommend burning seasoned/dry logs for a good hour and a half before cooking to ensure that there is constant hot temperature for cooking, once the burner gets up to temperature it will hold its heat very well. General coal is not recommended for cooking, you would need to use charcoal to cook with but even better still dry seasoned logs would be the best fuel to cook over in this product. We have cooked over this unit with wood multiple times with great results, but it can take a while to get to temperature.
I am so sorry that BBQ arrived with broken glass, I believe burford have replaced the glass however if there is anything else we can help with please do get in touch.

Dual pitnic bbq
Fantastic workmanship as always with firepits uk, really like the dual pitnic bbq, bought for our camping trips although we tried it out in the garden after seasoning the grill plates and it works a treat. Our only concern would be that it only stands about 35mm from the floor and if placed on your lawn or any grass it would burn the the grass without either raising it slightly higher off the ground or putting a fireboard underneath it. Some small fold out legs would enhance this product to the next level, maybe something to consider! Very Happy with our purchase all the same, great company
