The First Floors team helped us chose, organise and arrange carpet and flooring for our new house. As we were based abroad and making choices remotely David's honest, helpful advice and expertise made the process extremely easy and within our budget.
The fitting teams were also reliable, tidy and very professional. We're delighted with the end result. Highly recommend if you are looking for a five star service. Impeccable.

I honestly couldn’t recommend First Floors enough. They have excellent flooring and offer a gold standard service. They are patient and kind and offer endless advice. The actual fitting was brilliant and we absolutely love the finished product! We picked a CoreTec floor & it looks super high quality. At the shop itself, both Davids and Graham are honestly top class. Would 100% recommend.

We were able to take home some samples to select the carpet that was just right for our room. There was a delay in our furniture arriving and First Floors were very accommodating in putting our fitting date back to suit. The fitting went very well indeed - couldn’t have been easier.

My Wife and I decided to replace our Bedroom Carpet and lay down wooden flooring for our Hall. We noticed that there was a possible supplier for flooring at first floors shop on Fenwick Road. We met up with David and Graham and explained that we were looking for quality products for both Items. We were shown flooring possibilities from their extensive range of designs and thicknesses and soon found a product that we were interested in. We were delighted to find out that they had carpet selections at the back of the shop which surprised us; you could not appreciate the size of the place from the shop front! We chose a carpet that we thought met our specifications and were given a reasonable sized sample to take home to see how it would look in our room taking into account of our particular lighting conditions. First Floors sent out a guy to take measurements for floor, accessory fittings and carpet.
Being very happy with the proposition given to us and estimates of work completion dates and prices we went ahead with the order. Graham kept us updated with the schedule and I am happy to say that the work was carried out on time and was completed to a very high quality with which we were both delighted with.
I would be happy to reference this company for anyone who is interested in upgrading their floors or replacing carpets.

On our first visit to the showroom, David advised and helped us with our choice but never rushed us and gave us lots of confidence in making our final choice of engineered wooden flooring. Our new build home was delayed for a few months and during this time David and his team waited patiently with us until the flooring was able to be fitted! The fitting throughout our new house was more than excellent. The care and attention to detail was everything we could have hoped for, our thanks to the fitting team. We would have no hesitation in recommending First Floors, their professionalism and customer service was 100%.

Absolutely delighted with the Amtico flooring I had fitted in my kitchen. First Floors staff were extremely helpful and informative allowing me to make the right choice. The fitting was first class, efficient and professional and I would certainly recommend First Floors.

Used First Floors to help replace the carpeting in the Bedrooms and upgrade the flooring of the bathrooms. Excellent service at their shop and the fitting service was really good. Will use again in the future.

First Floors seem plausible and reliable at the outset but they turned out to be much more interested in getting paid than they are in getting the work done. They take all the money for the materials (so their money) upfront and leave only the fitting costs (so the relatively small proportion of the cost that goes to the contractor) to be paid when the job is complete. Once they have the money for the materials they lose interest pretty quickly. My job was interrupted by covid restrictions (so no one’s fault obviously) but even allowing for that it took a ridiculous amount of time to be completed. First Floors showed no interest at all (until the time came to pay the final balance !) in getting the job finished and left that arrangements entirely to their third party contractor. The quality of the job is average at best and, in my opinion, represents very poor value for money. Very unsatisfactory and a very poor customer experience. For perspective I’ve allowed a few months to pass before posting this review and I have to say that I am even less happy with the job now than I was when it was completed.

UPDATE - 22.03.22 - in reference to First Floors initial response to my review.

The job started in December 2020 but wasn’t finished until the end of November 2021. About 4 months ago, not 14 months as you claim. So, if your intention was to imply that it was strange that I left it 14 months to leave a review, I didn’t. I’m not surprised you got this wrong though, if there was ever any paperwork for the job I certainly never saw it. Also, you never contacted me even once after the initial down payment (other than to seek further payments) all the arrangements and scheduling were left to the third party contractor who, by the way, turned up on the first day with not a clue about the job, so he clearly hadn’t been given any briefing about the work at all. You certainly did lose interest after I’d paid for the flooring, it seems to me that pretty much all First Floors actually do is sell the flooring and hook the customer up with a contractor. I might as well have gone to B&Q and found a fitter for myself, it would certainly have been a lot better value for money.

UPDATE - 23.03.22 - in reference to First Floors response to my updated review.

You don’t have to search too long to turn up bad Trustpilot reviews for First Floors and there’s a definite theme to most of them. Maybe a little more time spent on improving your customer service and a little less time on posting inaccurate statements in response to those reviews would be a good step in the right direction.

In reference to your most recent set of inaccurate comments:

1. Covid and the fitters availability were the only factors that lead to appointments being cancelled.

2. I didn’t provide the beading, the fitter did, and the delays were caused by Covid and the fitters availability.

3. Only the very first appointment was set by the store, every single subsequent appointment was set and agreed with the fitter directly.

4. I did not receive a copy of the paperwork detailing and itemising the job and I have not misplaced it. At one point, just before I committed to the work, I actually had to tell David what price he’d quoted me for the job, so he clearly didn’t have any paperwork either !

5. The fitter arrived with all the materials but didn’t know what rooms were being done, that there were stairs involved and that the existing flooring had to be lifted.

6. After the first Covid related delay I actually asked David to come and look at the work that had been done. He declined on the basis that he would only have to refer any issues to the fitter. So, if it’s all the same, I don’t think I’ll bother taking up your offer to rectify matters now, but thanks anyway !

UPDATE - 29.01.23

I finally decided to cut my losses and replace this flooring. I’ve learned my lesson and got it right this time and I’m delighted with the outcome. It was an expensive lesson for me. Beware.

Just had our third floor project in seven years completed by First Floors once again.
Great service from David and his showroom team from assisting in the selection of materials through to arranging the installation. Chris and his team worked tidily and efficiently on the hardwood flooring with great attention to detail. Gordon who fitted the stair carpet was very professional in his work and was able to resolve some problematic details to our entire satisfaction.
Would definitely recommend First Floors.

Excellent service from advice on best type of flooring for my specific needs to the completion of the work. The men who installed the flooring were all very good workers who were most helpful and carried out the job as quickly and with as little disruption as possible. I intend using First Floors for more work in the future and can recommend the firm.

We have to say firstly that we were really happy with the wooden herringbone flooring we had installed at the end of November 2020. It really does look great from the outset.

Unfortunately we are disappointed to have experienced little to no after-sales service despite paying a lot of money for the work we had done. Unfortunately we noticed that finishing is not 100% on the flooring and at the edges we noticed some poor edges. We were told that the edge of the wood against walls and other edges couldn't be completely and perfectly straight, which we do completely appreciate, however there are some areas which are completely uneven to a large degree.

We are respectable customers and did not want to cause any unnecessary situation, however after phoning about it to see if anything could be simply resolved for this I found it extremely impossible to get any help. Emails were left unreplied to, and after multiple phone calls trying to get someone to help I was notified that I was 'low on their priority list'.

Eventually I was told I could have a door bar to cover the area that was so obviously badly finished, which I really did appreciate and of which I was very grateful. Upon going in to pick this up I was however asked to then pay (£15) for it, which I was just really saddened and disappointed by after having paid a few thousand pounds for the flooring.

It seems that if workmanship is poor that maybe a kind gesture could be given on such a small amount of money, however this was not to be the case. I run a design and interior blog and have been surprised to encounter this experience for the first time ever. Just be careful when considering to make your purchase if you are expecting to be receiving a full customer experience from beginning to end.

Highly recommend first floors. Sales process was fantastic, staff very knowledgeable and gave good advice. Scott who did the fitting was very good - again very knowledgeable and on hand to assist with any issues no matter how small. Very pleased with my new flooring and everyone comments on how good a job it is.

Highly recommend First Floors. Graeme at the show room was very helpful and knowledgeable and helped us choose a flooring which would suit our needs. Placing our order and arranging fitting was straightforward. Fitting was hassle free, Scott was fantastic and discussed which options would work best for our room. Couldn't ask for more, delighted with our new flooring.

Visited First Floors and spoke to David H who was very helpful when we were picking our laminate flooring and carpets. Flooring now laid and delighted with result. Thanks to all involved.
