Fitness Superstore - Chelmsford Reviews 

My treadmill has been unusable since 20th July and, as of today, I still have no update on when it will be repaired. I have only been told that they are waiting for parts to arrive from China.

This is extremely disappointing, especially from a company like Fitness Superstore, who claim to specialise in treadmills and fitness equipment. A machine being out of action for this length of time with no clear repair date is not the level of service I would expect.

It also makes me concerned about what support will be like once the warranty period has expired. If repairs and parts are already taking this long while the machine is covered, customers are left wondering what happens when they have to pay for repairs themselves.

We purchased several items from James at chelmsford branch his customer service was very good and his knowledge and advice faultless ! We then paid to have 2 large items built for us to go in new gym we had built .
They arrived the 12 th September , the rowing machine was faulty and we had to wait 10 days for someone to come fit new part which was sent over night I might add ! Then on 24 after a very little use the Treadmill just stop mid air at level 15 flashing and making awful noises .I reported to shop and they said no more they can do at store level ,but did get an email from Ryan saying due to sickness and being a busy period no tome line could be given to getting a replacement .I was not happy so email complaints department and still waiting .Also stopped payment after speaking to V12 who are also trying to get a solution to my new non working Machine ! Please think twice before buying here very poor after service should you have a faulty item that needs replacing .Such a shame even the last email from James was very poor !!!

we popped into the store to have a look at upgrading our 2 workbenches. We were greeted straight away, but were told the rep was available if we needed some help. Which i exactly what we both like. we wanted to have a look around without anyone's opinion or input, until we are ready. The store is really well stocked and prices are acceptable too. There is a choice of lower, mid and high range products, which is great for all gym enthusiasts.

when we were ready to place an order their sales rep discussed all the options with us, answered all the questions and we found him very knowledgeable yet not pushy at all.

The goods were all delivered within 48hrs with no probelm.

We always go and shop in this store or their website as the quality and price, fits our style and budgets.

I visited Fitness Superstore (Chelmsford) several times to ask questions about all that was needed for a home gym project. James and Ryan answered all my questions and ensured I was aware of all available options, on the equipment, flooring, assembly as well as delivery and finance options. They could not have been more helpful. Don’t risk an internet purchase when you can test the kit and get Pro advice before making a substantial investment.

Fitness Superstore: three treadmills, repeated faults, and now silence over my refund request

I have reached the point where I would personally recommend avoiding Fitness Superstore altogether. My experience has been exhausting, expensive and completely unacceptable.

I paid around £2,900 for a Matrix treadmill. This is now the third machine I have had through this process, and it makes a repetitive banging sound when I run on it. Following the manufacturer’s comments about a possible fix, I was expected to carry out an adjustment or repair myself. I am not comfortable working on an expensive treadmill to address a fault that I did not cause.

As a separate issue, the protective base underneath the machine is starting to come away. I was previously told this was cosmetic, but its condition has added to my concerns about the machine. I have supplied photos.

After all the faults and replacements, I told Fitness Superstore that I had lost confidence in the treadmill and requested a full refund. An entire week has passed without even an acknowledgement. No response, no explanation and no indication of what they intend to do.

The repeated problems have already cost me time and caused considerable frustration. Having to chase for the most basic response to a refund request makes their customer service look every bit as poor as the product experience.

Within the next two days, I intend to send Fitness Superstore a formal letter before action. If they still fail to resolve the matter after a reasonable opportunity to respond, I intend to pursue a County Court money claim.

Based on everything I have experienced, I would personally not recommend buying any product from Fitness Superstore. A customer spending this much money should not end up on a third faulty treadmill, be expected to attempt a repair, and then be met with silence when asking for a refund. Absolutely appalling.

We were well looked after by the member of staff who helped us. He explained all about the different types of exercise bikes that were available and which was suitable for a beginner such as me!! He then left us to browse and to make our informed purchase. Very useful.

Great service given by James at Chelsmford. I'd popped into store twice to figure out what I needed. Both times James was extremely kind and helpful. The ordering was easy and the equipment turned up in great time. I will be back for more items

Ryan at the Chelmsford store is always very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. In addition, Lee and Dean, the equipment installers were respectful, competent and highly efficient - a complicated multigym and a treadmill were installed in under 2.5 hours!
