I bought the small double futon for my studio flat. It serves as a sofa day to day and lots of friends have spent the night on it. It's super sturdy and really comfy - great design & I'm so happy with it! The fact it came from a lovely family business is the icing on the cake, they were fantastic when I was asking questions before buying etc. Highly recommend!

We bought a Tokyo Futon Bed Roll and have been very pleased with it, it is well made and delivery was very speedy. We have been sleeping on futons for over 30 years & the Tokyo is as good as any we have had.

Just amazing. Bought 2 stacking beds and they're fantastic. Stacked up as a single bed or a sofa, and side by side for comfortable king size bed for guests. Highly recommended.

I bought a four layer futon for my son for a very small room .
Communication was good , the phone was answered quickly when I rang to check something .
The futon arrived more quickly than expected .
Pleased with it so far , it’s comfortable and practical and looks nice .

I ordered a Tokyo Futon Bed Roll and I have to say it i's a pretty comfortable mattress, I've had back issues and this is help alleviate my issues. Customer service was great, I had a phone call from one of the team to let me know what day was best for it to be delivered. It does have a 'farm' type of smell to it, but I hope that will fade over time. Thanks again.

I've bought tri fold plus wool futon as a replacement of our previous futon (other brand) for the guest room.We have been doing some home improvements, so we used the guest room for a couple of weeks in December. This gave me the opportunity to try it...
Firstly, the smell of the futon is unpleasant and very strong. It's something I haven't experienced before - kind of a mixture of horse stable and parsnip?It has slightly improved with time, although I can smell it every time I enter the room (it's February now).
The futon is extremely uncomfortable and a slim person can feel the slats of the bed through it (I'm 61kg). The mattress is sinking under the average human weight, therefore I would not allow my guests (especially my elderly parents) to sleep on it when they come to visit us.
I didn't suffer from back pain until I tried the futon and my back still hurts despite slipping on a regular expensive bed mattress.

I have contacted the company hoping that they would at least provide some solution to our problem. They've said that the futon is not for everyday use.That's not helpful. We used it for less than 2 weeks ONLY!
I work as a physiotherapist and I'm fit, strong and have always looked after my back. Nevertheless this futon has triggered my back pain.

I can only say that we are very disappointed with the product and the customer care service of this company. In my opinion that particular futon is not fit for purpose.

We ordered a chair bed from them after a visit to the showroom/factory. The guy there, Andy, was really helpful and knowledgeable, answered all my questions. The bed itself is very well made and high quality, we opted for the premium mattress which is comfortable and definitely worth the extra cost. We are very happy with the service and quality of the bed, would definitely recommend them to other people. Thanks.

We have just been using our futon from Funky Futons for the first time over Xmas and it’s the icing on the (Xmas) cake for a company who have given good old traditional person-to-person service rather than a faceless entity. It was clear when we first made contact that we were calling the factory so you won’t get the polished PA answering the phone- and if you visit- there isn’t a showroom- all you need is on the extensive website and You Tube but they were able to show samples of a mattress they were making so we could lie on it. What you do get with this family company is someone who knows what they are doing inside out and was accommodating enough to custom make some details to suit my husband (VERY particular guy who was also very pleased with the futon).
They made the futon and finished it ahead of schedule and offered to deliver as there was a lorry coming this way… but we weren’t ready so opted to collect. Andy was a reasonable guy who you can see goes the extra mile for anyone who is reasonable and took extra care to be mindful of COVID and packed up the futon in my car for me.
Can’t rate them highly enough and we have now experienced how comfortable the sofa is (we paid for the memory foam) and easy enough to fold and unfold thanks to the thoughtful design.

Absolutely shocked by the poor quality of the futon mattress I bought for £240 from Funky Futon. During the first night I could feel the floor through it, and the dip I made with my body meant that I could only sleep in that spot because I rolled 'down the hill' from the edges every time I moved. When I told the Andrew about this on the phone, he said that this was all 'normal' for this sort of mattress. He was also so rude I eventually hung up on him. I now have to buy a whole new mattress. Really disappointed as this was a gift for my mum's spare room where I and others often stay.

I cannot recommend Andrew and his dad enough. They made a bespoke futon mattress for my stealth camper which has exceeded all expectations. They were polite, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The product is a 10/10 for quality and craftsmanship and represented great value for money. I had the best nights sleep I’ve had whilst away from home on its maiden voyage last night. Top company +++

Went for a stackable futon bed from Funky Futon to use for guests, and although delivery took a while, they kept us well informed and there were no surprises. The bed(s) themselves were fabulous. Really beautifully made and superb quality - it costs more than IKEA but is also 1000x better. Slotted together with very fine tolerances, so are super strong and flat. And the beds are divine, better than our own bed!

Decided to renew our heavy hard to handle sofa bed.
Funky Futon gave the best descriptions of their product, we knew what we were going to get before we paid.
Funky Futons sofa beds are of the best quality and made to be user friendly and we are very pleased with the product.

Five stars to Funky Futon..

We decided to replace our L shaped sofa with a 3 seater sofa bed this year. Andrew from Funky Futon helped us all through. A few months in, we are glad we picked Funky futon to buy our sofabed instead of going to the larger stores. The product quality and experience make this brilliant value.

Product
The product was exactly what we wanted. Sofa bed is easy to operate and this sofa is higher than the low slung standard sofas so easy on your legs and knees. We got the version with storage and it is handy. While selecting the wood and material the website highlighting all options was great. The final product was so understated, classy and fit in so naturally that we felt like we have had it for years after just a week.

Service
We had trouble booking removal of the old sofa because of the pandemic. Andrew, went above and beyond and helped us remove the old sofa for a standard fee. The date and time of delivery were kept and Andrew put the sofa together very quickly and we chatted through this time. Overall, it has been a very pleasant and congenial experience.

Great to buy from a small business but we have had HUGE problems with our purchase - bought a very thick sofa bed mattress which seems to prevent the sofa bed from closing. To put the sofa bed away requires two people - and is backbreaking. Feel should have been advised that the thickness of the mattress might not actually work with the model of the sofa bed. We've had endless calls to the company - who are very helpful but the problem still exists. No offer of a refund or of even sending a thinner mattress. The thing is as good as a sofa and has to live extended all of the time. Obviously unideal in an office! Very disappointed.

Great futon, love the quality! I've had it for nearly a year now and still very comfortable, no more backaches like with a regular mattress...Only downside is you can't pick the delivery day and will only be notified the day before or so, so you need to make sure to be around when they come as it's from Liverpool.

Ordered a Tokyo futon bed roll, for floor sleeping. Arrived within the 3 weeks as promised and is great quality. The only complaint I have is that the order was never updated once the payment was accepted, I am quite impatient and was wish the order status would have updated when picking and shipping / shipped.

After looking at a few futon options, Funky Futon were the most helpful. They gave me some great advice over the phone. All the steps in the ordering, delivery and post purchasing were first class. I would highly recommend and would definitely buy again.

FunkyFuton was really easy to contact and talk to in regards to my order. The order was on time and when it came (really friendly delivery team) was of super high quality and everything I thought it would be. Would 100% recommend this company and its products to anyone thinking of converting full-time to futon sleeping, or for having a futon for guests.
