Half a delivery on 2 occasions, sold us items not in stock & sent wrong parts
We have placed two substantial orders with Furniture Village, spending over £6,000 in total, but unfortunately both experiences were affected by avoidable errors and poor handling of the issues afterwards.
Our first order, worth over £4,000, included a bed and a two-seater sofa. When the divan bed was delivered, the warehouse had loaded two mismatched halves, making the bed unusable. It then took around eight weeks to rectify. While customer services apologised, there was no meaningful acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused. When I escalated the matter and requested a goodwill gesture or discount, I was simply told that Furniture Village does not offer refunds, despite the mistake being entirely theirs.
Our second order, for a dining table, chairs and bar stools (around £2,000), resulted in a similar issue. We arranged delivery, took time off work, and prepared by disposing of our old dining table — only for the chairs to arrive without the table itself. This left us without a dining table for a further two weeks while we waited for it to arrive. We were told it had to come from Europe, which raises concerns about stock management and selling items that are not immediately available.
What made both experiences more frustrating was the poor communication. On more than one occasion, we were promised call-backs from customer services that never happened, leaving us to repeatedly chase for updates and resolution ourselves.
Both times we paid £119 for delivery, yet both orders arrived incomplete. At the very least, I would expect those delivery charges to be refunded given the inconvenience, delays and lack of communication.
I do want to acknowledge that the in-store staff were excellent throughout, particularly Davide, who was friendly, professional and never pushy. He was a pleasure to deal with.
However, while the sales team have been great, Furniture Village as a company needs to improve its warehouse operations, stock control and customer service response when things go wrong. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of meaningful resolution, communication or goodwill leaves a poor impression. Based on our experience, we will think carefully before shopping there again.

I bought a recliner chair 2 years ago…
I bought a recliner chair 2 years ago and paid £100 for the additional care warranty. I am the only person using the chair but it has now sunk in the seat area, the material has folded into a permanent crease making it uncomfortable and unusable. I contacted FV as still under the warranty but apparently this is classed as 'wear & tear' and is not covered by the care policy either. I'm in contact with the escalation team but it appears its tough and I'm now left after 2 years with an unusable chair and £850 out of pocket. I had problems with this company from day 1 with pressurised sales people, incompetence leading to long delays in delivery and lies about where the furniture is manufactured and nearly cancelled my order, which obviously I wish I now had. I'm left sitting on a dining chair in agony with my back and trying to save for a new chair as I don't have cash lying around to replace it.
Don't buy from this company and especially DO NOT BUY THE CARE POLICY as it doesn't provide any cover that isn't already on a normal household insurance policy. This company promotes itself with good quality products and customer care, what a joke

Harold Ofori top quality sale process
Harold Ofori ensured we had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience whilst coming to see a 2 seater electric extendable sofa I had seen online which eventually led to the sale.
He was professional, handled all our questions with deep knowledge and was useful in guiding the process. Even convinced me to allow my partner to get the lighter colour we both wanted but I feared to get because of my messy dog by selling us what looks like a great insurance against stains. I used to be in sales and I’m not an easy customer to convince or make quick decisions but Harold took the time to help with all my concerns and did it with an upbeat and nothing too much effort to look into attitude. Even offered us cookies which I ate far too many of. Perfect level of consultative selling. Thanks Harold. Let’s hope those 10 weeks fly by looking forward to getting on the new sofa now.
